My brother and I hiked about half of this route 45ish years ago with my cousin Bill, a true Tahoe mountain man. What an adventure that was! Looking forward to the entire journey to Yosemite!

That rock wall at Stony Ridge. When I encounter those types of things in remote locations I always think "somebody built this up here". Amazing

For real! Like how did they get concrete 10 miles into the wilderness lol!

    Doctor!
What a beautiful video. An unbelievable tribute to your father -the planning and preparation and ultimate completion of the trail is obviously very cathartic and important for you. I'm misty-eyed watching it, thinking about my late Pops.
It looks like your pack handled all your equipment well. Tell Michael to save some fish for me!
    Again, a beautiful video.

What a great video. My buddy(who sent me the vid) and I hiked that same stretch back at the end of June. It was fun seeing all the familiar spots we stopped. We even camped and fished in the same spot at Rubicon. On top of that you guys pitched your tents EXACTLY where we did.

I'm excited to have found out about this trail! I don't know you obviously but I am happy to see that it means so much to you to follow your father's map. My dad always promised to take me to the mountains when we lived on the east coast but the demons that kept him from keeping that promise ultimately took him from this world. In other words I get why it means so much to you.. excited to get started... from my couch unfortunately :( lol

@@snowrob0 Thank you for those kind words and I am sorry about your dad. The heatwave and work are keeping me from getting the next section this summer but I am aiming for the Fall!

Your most welcome! Thanks for your condolences as well. I'll be watching if I don't get out there myself. My father in law and I did an over night from echo to aloha and it was great! We love both Tahoe and my wife and I have celebrated Yosemite since 2010 and and married at the chapel on Feb 14, 2014. The TYT is an attractive idea for all of us!

We were defintely too close to camp - but that view! We stored the smelly stuff well away and in bear canisters like good little campers. Would have loved to have seen a friendly, well-fed bear though! :)
