I use them for pike. My local reservoir has a few back sloughs with spring holes in them full of pads. Big pike stack up in this cool water in the summer eating ducklings, young muskrats, waterdogs, and anything else they can chomp. The silver minnow is one of the few lures that don't get junked up on every cast.
I just purchased a few Johnson spoons for Mexico…. I needed a lure that I can fish in shallow rocks for snapper. I’ll be putting a trailer ( fluke &/or keitech ) trailer on it. Should do the trick🎣
I like to use this instead of a frog sometimes. Just put a chunk or grub on the hook and drag it over the mat or lilies. I'll let it drop into holes and off the edge of the grass. It gives you another dimension that the frog doesn't have because the frog floats.
I know someone who might move to canton…. What area/subdivision are they building new affordable homes that you would recommend? Thx I like your bassing videos….
A Johnson silver minnow will NOT twist your line... The swivel is hurting your action by allowing the spoon to spin while adding more weight in front of the line tie. Next time, try a simple snap (no swivel) or tie on directly for better wobble with no twist.
Love it. I have a few. I love lures that have been around 50+ years. If they still make them, it means they work!
Threw this bait back in the 70's. Still works. Very Cool

Lol I almost shit myself with the turtle
Your video inspired me to buy a couple of these. Absolutely wacking them with this lure. Who knew?

Use a curly tail grub. White or chartreuse works best for me.

I'm not using a swivel.
@@dyefishing2289 at 55 seconds in, you show and mention the swivel.
@@dyefishing2289 you spent like 15 seconds taking about how good the swivel is 🤦♂️
Let's go!!
