He also played piano, guitar, and harmonica, starting out in Irish show bands as a teenager eventually coming to prominence in a rock band, Them, with such songs as "Gloria", "Here Comes the Night", "Mystic Eyes", and a great version of an old blues tune, "Baby Please Don't Go" which I would rank with Animals' version of "House of the Rising Sun"...
You aren't trying hard enough😀. He deliberately recorded some awful songs (ringworm, want a Danish etc) to get out of his contract. They're on RUclips.
Yes, I wrote the same comment, that this was his biggest hit 🔥🎵 It really is a magnificent song. Love these 2 guys. They tap into every lyric, every instrument.
One of the best sounds from a song you can hear. Van is so diverse and an incredible vocalist. Wild Night, Domino, Wavelength or Blue Money all great songs. Give a listen ✌️🎼🎶🎸🎵
Well Put ❗ As I was listening just now , I realized AGAIN his lyrics in this song are magnificent. And all the Instrumentation 🎵🎵🎵 A classic by him. Aren't you glad we grew up on great talent like this❓ I am.I'm loving watching these young REACTORS appreciate these oldies but goodies. These 2 guys have become my new favorite. Spot on reactions. They must be musicians or Producers.
This and Brown Eyed Girl are his biggest radio tunes... but his rabbit lives very, very deep down in the hole! Van is kinda like Steely Dan... both in how he mixes genres so well to create his own, unmistakable sound... and that he just finds great musicians (and they want to work on his stuff, and has a rep for being a taskmaster at times) for both his recordings and his touring bands.
I highly recommend another song from Van Morrison. And It Stoned Me. When you check this out, do the studio version and be sure to have the lyrics on hand.
Have you seen the full moon lately? My husband and I danced to this in our backyard last night! Together 40 years and this song still makes one feel romantic! 😽💋🎶💕
You guyz gotta check out Van 'LIVE" in the 'Last Waltz'. His expressions and movements to those who've only heard him sing, will double your appreciation of his talent. TURN IT UP!
Thanks for this reaction. Another must listen is 'Into The Mystic' , truly amazing. Going back 60 years Van was in the Irish band, Them. Their 'Baby, Please Don't Go' was their debut single. Also worth a listen. Cheers ✌
I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!! I love people who truly appreciate GREAT music. It does not matter what the genre, great music translates to those who LOVE music. Great is Great…… period!!!!
Van's voice is exceptional. A excellent reaction by an excellent performer to an excellent song. Had the pleasure of seeing him on my 21st birthday at the Masonic Temple in Detroit. A small venue that was excellent. Appreciate you la and Che. Thanks fellas 👌 ❤
Great reaction, as usual. Van is so unique and more diverse than he gets credit for. Always soulful, sometimes bluesy, sometimes drawing on Irish/Celtic/mystical themes -- and here, he really swings. If you're interested in exploring Van's influence on other rock artists, try "Kitty's Back" by Bruce Springsteen.
This whole album is fire. And it Stoned Me is my suggestion for your next Van Morrison reaction. But, all of his music is great stuff. Enjoy. I'd really like to see you react to some Steve Miller Band, a lot of great music waiting for you from them. The Joker and Fly Like an Eagle would be nice.
@AirplayBeats I slept on this reaction. But, I reiterate that Steve Miller Band has a lot of music awaiting your perusal. Jet Airliner, Jungle Love, The Stake, Take the Money and Run, Swingtown and others are worthy endeavors. Stay safe and well. TTYL.
Airplay Beats Big Soul Review is bringing the truth with Van The Man. Thanks for playing all the Van Morrison songs. Your commentary and views on the music and vocals are always on point. SOMEONE LIKE YOU, HAVE I TOLD YOU LATELY I LOVE YOU, WAVELENGTH, IN THE GARDEN, QUEEN OF THE SLIPSTREAM, FULL FOR GALE, LISTEN TO THE LION, GET YOU HAND OUT OF MY POCKET, T.B. SHEETS - You should give his Album 'IT's TOO LATE TOO STOP NOW' a song-by-song listen. It's one of the great Live Albums that capture Van at his best. Thank you for all the diverse music and hard work you put into bringing us so much joy.
Great song. There's one song by Van that I'm sure you've heard, 'Brown Eyed Girl'. It's a classic that routinely gets played at weddings. Enjoy your channel guys...
Yes Harriet ❗ It's a magnificent song and I love seeing young REACTORS like these 2 enjoying all these oldies but goodies 🔥🎵 It's nice to re live memories of when this great music was on the airwaves all the time. What an ERA of music😊
Like I said, this is a beautifully recorded track with impeccable separation on all the instruments. Van has soul. I've seen him twice and both are among my top live shows.
What radio station ❓Do you live in a city like me with a great COMMUNITY RADIO STATION ❓( actually Tampa Bay area has 2 outstanding community radio stations...Thank God). It's the only way to hear great music 🎵 on the RADIO these days.
van the man, - his live performance with the band on, the last waltz movie with a track called caravan is well worth a watch all my best to you and yours from Liverpool
One of Van Morrison's most reacted to songs is called "Into the Mystic", one of his lesser known hits but such a great song. It will give you the feels, for sure. Cheers fellas!
Agreed Bill....these 2 REACTORS are my new favorites. They are always spot on. I wonder if they are Musicians or Producers. They hear everything. What A DELIGHT to tune into them every day.
Van wrote this song, so he is not covering somebody else's composition. Van used to hang out in Mill Valley in Marin County just North of the Golden Gate Bridge coming into San Francisco. Van was working on this song for a long time, drinking at the Silver Dollar bar at night, good Irishman, hanging with the locals trying to get away from the world of expectations and enjoying life. He wrote this song about that time.
Van writes 99% of his songs, writes and arranges his music, writes his own horn charts. He ptoduces, plays saxophone, harmonica, guitar, keys. He is the band leader. When he makes an album he delivers it complete, ready to press a disc and distribute. He’s made more than 50 studio and live recordings and released at least 80 singles.
My wife and I love Van Morrison! Before she passed away we danced a lot to to his music over the years! I have many fond memories from this music ! Thank you very much !!!! This is his music !
Every Van Morrison album I have, Van wrote every song, music and lyrics. I don't think I ever heard a Van cover, but I have heard many people cover Van. As Robby Robertson called him at the Last Waltz, Van the Man. I definitely recommend you doing the video of Van Morrison and the Band doing his song Caravan at the Last Waltz - Van is awesome!
I saw Van morrison on the main stage at glastonbury 97. Stood at the front up to my knees in mud. Followed by sheryl crow, then smashing pumpkins and then headlining ( i believe ive heard you say they are one of your favourites) The Prodigy! Boom. Good day at the office! I was 16 years old and lit! Haha 😂
I highly recommend checking out the studio version of "Satisfied" by Van. Great vocals, and the trumpet/saxophone Call and Response solo will blow you away!
I always loved this song. Another one that is sort of in the same vein is Dancing In The Moonlight by King Harvest. Both are just really cool, classic rock staples.
You can always count on the subscriber base to know about the artist and song. As for the production, you guys are still kings! Thanks for the play! Cheers!
You guys keep bringing out the best of the best ❗ This was probably his biggest hit. Beautiful lyrics and composition 🎵🎵🎵 This is HIS song. Glad you loved it too.
I've never heard another version of this song. It was his original composition and recording and it was killer! So smooth and jazzy... mellow and yet with a bit of a snap to it.
Really enjoyed seeing your reaction to this, world is challenging in a lot of ways right now, you guys always make me smile amidst all the chaos, strong work, keep listening...
Fellas, Van wrote this. Fun fact: Van started out as a jazz/r&b saxophonist.
Thanks John!! Have a great weekend.
Classic tune. Nice to see you guys exploring Van. If you can fit it in I'd try any one song or the entire Astral Weeks album.
His vocals are phrased like sax solos and choruses. Sax man for sure.
The original, btw, not a cover.
FELT LIKE BURNING MY METS HAT. LOl
Van's absolutely magical. My husband actually pulled our car over and we got out to dance one night, lol. Such memories of all of his wonderful music.
Van Morrison is the original and best version.
By far his biggest hit. Still on the radio. I don't think I have ever heard a bad Van Morrison song.
Awesome song, but certainly not his biggest hit. That's Brown Eyed Girl.
You aren't trying hard enough😀. He deliberately recorded some awful songs (ringworm, want a Danish etc) to get out of his contract. They're on RUclips.
All time favorite!
Crazy Love or It Stoned Me next!
That walking bass was perfection.
Van’ s best song!😊
Van's lyrics are always poetry. Forgot how great this song is. Every instrument is excellent.
Well Put ❗ As I was listening just now , I realized AGAIN his lyrics in this song are magnificent. And all the
Instrumentation 🎵🎵🎵 A classic by him. Aren't you glad we grew up on great talent like this❓ I am.I'm loving watching these young REACTORS appreciate these oldies but goodies. These 2 guys have become my new favorite. Spot on reactions. They must be musicians or Producers.
This is Van’s song. One of the best by one of the best.
Van is and has been The Man for more than 50 years.
This is an all-time classic, and is the ORIGINAL version. Anyting else you heard are just covers. Released in 1970, this never *never* gets old.
This is an original by Van! Excellent song
This is the coolest song. Makes me think I can dance in ways my body does not move anymore.
😂😂😂
Hahaha ❗ Would love to see that. And YES...this is a magnificent song 🔥
I've been asking for it too...
My personal favorite Van track right there..
Amazing song!
Yes. Please!
MUST HEAR classics BEFORE Van (The Man) Morrison's solo career,, Them "Here Comes The Night" & "Gloria"...TRUST ME!!
Baby Pleaae Don't Go slams too.
@caseyjones9359 100% Agreed,, was just trying to give them a few to start with.
Moondance" is a song recorded by Northern Irish singer and songwriter Van Morrison and is the title song on his third studio album Moondance (1970).
Irish soul. Van the man! ☘️
This was a 100% Van Morrison composition in 1970 - no cover.
Have you seen the full moon lately? My husband and I danced to this in our backyard last night! Together 40 years and this song still makes one feel romantic!
😽💋🎶💕
Van Morrison, the soul poet of actual music. ♥️
Van the man has made such beautiful music over the years. Have I told you lately is a favourite.
Woo hoo yes I asked for this one thanks..... just amazing
You guyz gotta check out Van 'LIVE" in the 'Last Waltz'. His expressions and movements to those who've only heard him sing, will double your appreciation of his talent. TURN IT UP!
It's a Van Morrison classic, hes a legend in Ireland.
Thanks for this reaction. Another must listen is 'Into The Mystic' , truly amazing. Going back 60 years Van was in the Irish band, Them. Their 'Baby, Please Don't Go' was their debut single. Also worth a listen. Cheers ✌
This is the greatest lounge song of all time! Great jazz from a great artist! Amazing catalog to go with this one.
Legendary writer and vocalist, who would fight you at the drop of a hat. The stories about him are hilarious, he was not a man you wanted to cross.
Van started saxiphone at 14 yrs. old. His dad had a jazz record collection. All famous jazz players on this one.
Can still remember every word. Could sing it in my sleep.
All us cool cats and kittens love this one! Love the jazzy feeling.
Van is The Man. A desert island album in my book. Great reaction.
Yes! I've always said the same. 😉
One of those albums I will cherish, always.
This song was played at just about ever Wedding that l went to back in the 70's. One of my favorite 👍🏻
A Van Morrison original! Fantastic! Love you guys!
Nice to see a mention of Bruce's early work. It's very underrated and so good, rich in jazzy elements.
Throw a dinner party and have this music in the background perfect night
This whole album is fire. And it Stoned Me is my suggestion for your next Van Morrison reaction. But, all of his music is great stuff. Enjoy. I'd really like to see you react to some Steve Miller Band, a lot of great music waiting for you from them. The Joker and Fly Like an Eagle would be nice.

My favorite Van Morrison song, of many.
Van The Man. Wrote it. Soul pouring out of him
I remember seeing him somewhere in New York at some off. The path club didn't know who he was until later on.
Not only did Van write that, he was only 23 year's old. He was the Marvin Gaye of the British Isles. Just a Godsend to us all
Like I said, this is a beautifully recorded track with impeccable separation on all the instruments. Van has soul. I've seen him twice and both are among my top live shows.
Dude sounds as powerful vocally now as ever
Origional and simply Van. Thanks guys
never heard anyone else do this, All time great song.
I still hear this song regularly on the radio. It’s such a classic. ❤🎶

@@elisaabolafia9542 I listen to the classic rock channel in West Palm Beach. I live in Vero Beach but WPB has a great classic channel.
I could easily list 100 Van songs that are all bangers, from all periods of his long career. He is the master.
What a classic. Got to be my favorite VM tune.
van the man, - his live performance with the band on, the last waltz movie with a track called caravan is well worth a watch all my best to you and yours from Liverpool

Van Morrison and Jim Morrison of the Doors were once on stage together at the Whiskey A Go Go in 1966.
