    Hi guys! This is an updated video tutorial for the Simply Daisy Bookmark. It goes a bit slower and provides more detail than the previous video. I hope that it helps clear up any confusion from the last video, but please let me know if you have any questions. I hope you enjoy making and using your bookmarks!🥰
    If you prefer a written pattern, here is a link to the free pattern on my blog: thispixiecreates.com/how-to-crochet-the-simply-daisy-bookmark-video-tutorial/

    I used a F hook with Patons Grace cotton yarn and did the 33 chains; the bookmark finished is 5.5” long. I want to make it about 7-8” before adding the tassel. I know you said that to change the length do a multiple of 2+5 but I don’t know what that means; can you explain please? Thank you! It’s really pretty!

    • @ThisPixieCreates
      @ThisPixieCreates  5 месяцев назад +1

      Great question! The chain a multiple of 2 + 5 means that you'll keep chaining (2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2...+ 2) until you're happy with the length, and then add an extra 5 chains at the end. You can also look at it like, chain any even number until you're happy with the length, then chain an extra 5 chains at the end. You can try chaining 45, and that might get you close to the length that you'd like. 😊

    • @ThisPixieCreates
      @ThisPixieCreates  Год назад

      Great question! Normally, I would say, yes, please weave in your ends, because they do tend to unravel if you don't. But I know it sucks having to go out an get something that you weren't planning on needing to finish a project. So here is what you can do (I hope it works and stays intact): make a knot at the end of both of your ends to secure them. You can try your best to weave each tail under a loop of a stitch to hold it in place, and then cut it. This is optional though, so you can just cut your tails after you make each knot. I hope this helps! ☺

    • @user-ls3bs8zd1g
      @user-ls3bs8zd1g 8 месяцев назад

      It's best to have a tapestry needle (a blunt needle with a wider eye than a normal sewing needle) to weave in the ends, but I have seen people hide the end by using a smaller crochet hook to pull the end strands through the loops of the stitches to hide them instead of using a tapestry needle (basically the same as a yarn needle and used in cross stitch and even-weave embroidery as well). I hope that this helps!

      Oh no! Sometimes yarn doesn't have the greatest stitch definition. I bet you'll have better results with a cotton yarn. :)

      Same here! I followed the video and I was able to make the bookmark, but because of my yarn you can't really see the star pattern in it very well

    I don't know why my comma looks funny and weird, maybe because I'm a beginner or I'm not good at doing it🙉😭

    Why do u say yarn over when u don’t actually mean yarn over

    • @CarolR.9149
      @CarolR.9149 3 месяца назад +8

      It’s when your working yarn goes over the top of the crochet hook. Hope that helps. 😊

      Does it even say what size hook to use? Been sitting here replaying the beginning 6 times and still can’t find anything that discusses what size hook to start with.

      Hi Rowan, there is a material list at the beginning of the project: (0:30). I used a 4.0mm hook.

      My guess is that you may be working across 3 new chains instead of 2. When you make your stitch, always work into the ch-1 sp of the previous stitch, the leg of the previous stitch, the last ch of the previous stitch, and two new chains. I hope this helps! 😊
