What a wonderful interview. Love the points about correcting the imbalance while being able to play each other as acting, and about hopefully in the future, LGBTQ representation being more casual and not having to be as celebrated because it'll be so accepted and normal by then
Great post! Have seen BROS multiple times. Laughed a lot and shed a few tears. This groundbreaker is SO significant NOW when human rights are at risk.👍. 🏆
Billy is so iconic, far surpassing his presence as a major representative of the gay community. For which I can't thank him enough, of course. But the moment I laid eyes on him, I thought "This man is an image to survive the ages." Billy, you are a gift of incalculable preciousness to all gays, never mind this sorry old man who's waited all his life to be blessed by someone as outragously delightful as you.
What is the media doesn't understand about straight actors playing queer parts? It has NEVER been about talent or acting ability - it has always been about opportunity. And as they both state: straight actors get to audition for straight and queer roles yet queer actors can only audition for queer roles - it isn't a two-way street. I wish the media would understand this. Jake - if you get to interview Cate Blanchett for "Tar" then explain it to her, and she might finally understand the gays.
One of my favorite people on Planet Earth, who is also an actor is THE Michelle Swan Graham, @Swanofdreamers on RUclips. And she and I fully agree #RepresentationMatters. I rarely watch romantic comedies. I predominantly watch Drama, Sci-Fi, Thrillers, etc. However, knowing that the main cast of "Bros" is primarily openly LGBTQ makes me more interested in watching this movie. Also, I could not agree with Billy Eichner more; there is a MASSIVE imbalance regarding LGBTQ people, especially Gay men, regarding portraying straight, as well as LGBTQ people. Yes, at the end of the day, an actor, regardless of their sexual orientation, is portraying a role. However, it is refreshing to see more openly LGBTQ people, portraying LGBTQ roles. Not to mention much needed.
"I look forward to the date where it just not a thing'" honestly the audience couldn't care, they just want good bloody acting. The industry has issues. They seem to be getting over them...slowly

We need more LGBT stories in movies and series 🏳️🌈❤️
Why so more movies can flop like this one?🤣🤣
@Frumentarii Get what message out?
