I was a bit surprised to see Princecraft on the value side of your list. I know they have different lines and I always kind felt like they ranged from value to higher end of the mid level. Anywho, I've been looking at a Princecraft Ventura 194 deckboat. What's holding me back is the price point... its a bit on the high end. Could you do a video on deck boats? I think they are a really great "jack of all trades" kind of option that's often overlooked. Thx, great channel btw.

@@BoatBuyersSecretWeapon Sounds great, thx for the reply and condolences for your loss. Here's another idea on a video... Im up here in Canada, what about covering the logistics of purchasing used boats and transporting across the border?

I am shopping for a Tritoon, w/150HP. What I have found is most models don't have much fuel capacity. The Sun Tracker seems to be ahead of the pac in fuel capacity, 52 gal. This is very important and something most buyers don't even consider. Having owned many "Mid Size" boats, 18' to 24', boating on large lakes for multiple days burns a lot of fuel. In Maine, we have large remote lakes, fueling is an issue.

Don't see Veranda anywhere on your list. Being aluminum and no wood seems it would be in there somewhere.

the veranda best in the buisiness. you pay for quality if you going to keep for 20 years or more buy it only thing you going to replace is the engine.

Is it ok to paint the pontoons if your leaving the boat in saltwater?

If your aluminum welds are susceptible to rust, you have bigger issues. That means that some moron included iron in the weld

@@BoatBuyersSecretWeapon meh, anodizing isn't really important. Anodizing is just a process to accelerate the oxidation (corrosion) of the aluminum to create a layer of aluminum oxide on the surface. Aluminum will do this by itself without a special process. While there are certain anodization processes (type 3) that provide extra hardness on the material, it is not necessary in this application other then pure aesthetics.

      @@BoatBuyersSecretWeapon
I manufacturer my own firearms, so I researched anodizing thoroughly to decide on the process I needed to follow to make sure my stuff lasted. Instead of messing with the electrochemical process of anodizing, I just let my parts sit out for a few days before assembly and they will develop aluminum oxide themselves. (I then coat my stuff with a ceramic paint). To see how fast this happens, polish a piece of aluminum and set it on the counter without a sealant. It will be dull pretty quick. The dull finish is aluminum oxide, which (unlike iron oxide) actually protects the aluminum from further corrosion.
Aluminum oxide is HARD. I use it as a blast media for "sandblasting" parts prior to powdercoat or paint.
Also, aluminum won't really change color when welded on. It will get shiny (or sooty if it's dirty), but you won't see colors like you see in those Instagram welds on titanium.
I would bet they are welded up and just sit around on a shelf long enough in most of these boat builds to make the welds look normal.

I know there are many brands.... I will be using it on the intracoastaI waterway in south east Florida ( saltwater) am looking at a Bentley, Bennington or a Manitou...mainly for cruising and delivering food to people on boats, and didn't see Bentley on your list...or if you have any other thoughts for brands on saltwater... I will be storing on a trailer, not in the saltwater.
