If you haven't been to the Virgin Islands I highly recommend them, and not just the US ones but the British ones as well. Anyway, although I prefer stories were the crossdressing character decides to transition permanently, in this one I liked that the boy took control of his own life and did not let anyone, not even his new wife force him to do anything against his will. He decided on his own when and how to indulge his crossdressing. That showed he was a person of character.
leaving the dresses in his closet is a trap for a cross-dresser as he will not be able to resist dressing up when he had the chance. he should have gotten that no1 haircut (or a set of hair clippers so he could do it himself) well before so there was nothing to be done to give him a feminine style. his mother knew from day one he wouldn't be able to resist dressing up for long and that's why the dresses were still in the closet.
