    Units was easy to unpack and slide out from the case. I installed this in the wall to cool my garage. I live in NV and it’s been cooling my garage pretty easily while being 105 degrees outside.

    Collected all the relatives window AC units after they had central AC installed in their homes. I installed 2 units thru the wall in my summer cabin.

    Be sure to maintain the slope required for condensation to drain outside (downhill toward outside of house).

      You are well informed. I did give it a slope So water has a place to escape. I Appreciate the tip.

      It's not to hard once you make up your mind and do it. Plus years of experience does help out a little.

    How do you seal the bottom, and for drainage the outside edge should be slightly lower than the inside.

    • @MrFixALot
      @MrFixALot  2 года назад +1

      Use caulking to seal it and you are correct about the drainage.

    How did you decide to cut the hole at that place on the wall? Did you check for studs before starting? Thanks.

    Is it long/deep enough for the drain to go outside? I did this once years ago with a window unit and discovered the drain was inside the framing. Had to take it all out and order a through the wall unit which is longer.

    • @MrFixALot
      @MrFixALot  2 года назад +1

      It depends on the unit. This ac had no problems. Hope your ac unit has no more problems.

    That board will cause many nightmares, it really adds no structrural support that the brackets alone wouldn't but it does allow water to be trapped and to run inside the wall.

    • @irisbaez1972
      @irisbaez1972 4 месяца назад

      Dummy ignorant. if it has a slope to drain outside how the water will get into the wall? plus I' sure he made all necessary to avoid that. Ridicule.

    Can I install a through the wall ac unit in my living room with the garage on the otherside?

    • @MrFixALot
      @MrFixALot  3 года назад

      I wouldn't do that myself. But I guess if you really wanted to, you could. The right way is to install on an exterior wall. Good luck.

      Should the board that will help support the exterior side of the heavy AC Unit be angled slightly downward on the outside as to prevent water/rain dribble back into the inside of the wall and inside the house ?
      How much of an angle ? About 3°- maybe 5° sloped downward from the house wall outward to the exterior of the AC unit ?

    • @MrFixALot
      @MrFixALot  3 года назад

      @@tonichecavalari5956 yes you should angle it just enough for water run off.
