Mr. Finn was revolutionary. Happy 20 to Enema of the State and Finn's signature guitar tone!
Never let Feldman touch another blink album… Please…
Or 311
I like Feldman.... in goldfinger
Nine is pretty decent...i dont get why u saying that
Feldman is a terrible producer. All albums he touches sound the same. Feldman has a ' formula' to what makes a 'hit' song, and it just makes everything generic. The blink albums under his command sound like watered-down goldfinger. Listen to goldfinger and feldman produced songs, first verse strung guitar, second verse palm muted guitar or bass only.
@@MrSocialcomahhh that makes so much sense. Didn’t care for either blink album with skiba. They kinda just sounded more like alkaline trio songs, and I like alkaline trio. But I guess I had my own expectations with blink. Couple good songs on those albums , but most just sounded generic , like u said. I hear new bands trying to bring back that 2000s pop/punk rock , it’s sooo static and sound the same. No soul, or emotional resonance
Listening to Mark talk about Jerry Finn always gives me goosebumps. What a great guy who passed way too early.
I once heard Mark say that Jerry Finn was like the 4th member of Blink-182. He truly took Blink-182 to another level and as Mark said he defined their sound. I believe he passed just after the +44 record was made and I would have loved to see what he could have done with an AVA record.
When I think about it, if Blink had stayed together that album would have been a blend between WDNTW and +44 and Jerry Finn would have produced it. Definitely something I’ll always wonder. Finn’s quality and technique are unmatched to this day imo
Just my opinion, blink 182 broke up i think making jerry finn hurt so much
If my memory serves me correctly Jerry passed away much later than that. More closer to neighbourhoods as blink started talking again after his passing.
@@cameronmurphy5850 Yeah, you're right - he passed away in 2008. Post '+44' first album, and post 'AVA' 2nd album. I really wonder how much different 'Neighborhoods' would've sounded if he were around then to have his say on that album. Jerry Finn was *unquestionably* the 4th member of blink-182. :)
@@denisuntoro that’s fucking stupid dude. What a wild fantasy. 😆 anyway OP I fucking agree Jerry was so crucial to Blinks identity. Feldman buttfucked Blink and made them into a Goldfinger clone...
Yeah such a shame they didn't stay together for at least one more album after self titled. It would of prob been their best work :/
Jerry was the heart of Blink. Period
one of the best producers in modern music
God what a good question
Thank you so much for posting this. There’s not enough info and personal testimonies about Jerry and his work online. So important for us to keep his memory alive!
Jerry Finn was the Rick Rubin of Pop Punk!
Happy 51st Birthday Jerry. the music world misses you. RIP
To this day it hurts to imagine what he could have done with all of blinks members respective works with his input and expertise he wasn’t just a record producer for them he really was like their 4th member he helped arrange and refine their sound he was their secret weapon.
Jerry Finn > Feldmann (And I love goldfinger)
Feldmann as a producer sucks, and I also love goldfinger
@@vidr1058 Jerry Finn was revolutionary because of his love for music and production. I love Feldmann too but I feel like he plays it safe like all the other producers out there, looking out for securing the next job. It’s the attitude. Finn had a punk rock attitude, Feldmann has a “this is business” attitude. While both are so talented, there’s a reason songs with Jerry Finn involved become timeless classics.
That man mixed dookie and dear you, produced and out come the wolves, about time, destruction by definition, good mourning, from here to infirmary not to mention all the blink stuff. Unreal
Thank you for posting this. Jerry was a shooting star... can't say enough good things about Jerry Finn. #Ripjerryfinn
Awesome question! Jerry made that blink sound that advanced them to a next level
In my opinion Jerry Finn is LARGELY to thank for Blink’s success. Dude was a monster!
I agree on not letting Feldman anywhere NEAR another Blink album eve!
On a side note-Mark Trombino produced Dude Ranch which was a monster of an an album so I think if they had continued with Trombino it could have been cool too! Trombino is Jimmy Eat World’s long time producer.
I listened to all of Blink-182’s albums today from start to finish and Enema of the State is by far the best album as a whole.
You can listen to it from start to finish and the flow is perfection.
The albums that came after sound fractured and inconsistent.
Jerry is the best of time ❤
i'd like to think jerry and geoff emerick are up above trading notes about ribbon mics
Jerry Finn was a genius
Rip jerry finn 😢
Jerry Finn was brilliant
Got to say, Blink have sounded pretty awful since Jerry Finn died. He really was the 4th member of the band. John Feldman turned them into an autotuned, pop mess.
Neighborhoods still sounded cool
Jerry finn was blink 182. Besides that none of them did anything, Unless he worked on the first ava recordm
Is there a complete recording of this thing somewhere?
When was this? Mark is so cool :D
It was on Monday. I was there, down on the right side of the theater.
Melissa0774 😮😮
Franco Cordini he is always cool
Why film sideways! Whyyy!!! You've cut off most of the video.
They had a strict no filming policy - my buddy was secretly filming this through his jacket believe it or not!
Turn your phone the other way.
Jerry Finn really did make blink sound like blink. They’ve never really had a decent producer since. Feldman is so stale and boring, nine had all these weird hip hop people and I’m sorry but Travis is just not a producer to me. I LOVE the new album but the mixes are a disaster.
