Mr. Finn was revolutionary. Happy 20 to Enema of the State and Finn's signature guitar tone!

Feldman is a terrible producer. All albums he touches sound the same. Feldman has a ' formula' to what makes a 'hit' song, and it just makes everything generic. The blink albums under his command sound like watered-down goldfinger. Listen to goldfinger and feldman produced songs, first verse strung guitar, second verse palm muted guitar or bass only.

@@MrSocialcomahhh that makes so much sense. Didn’t care for either blink album with skiba. They kinda just sounded more like alkaline trio songs, and I like alkaline trio. But I guess I had my own expectations with blink. Couple good songs on those albums , but most just sounded generic , like u said. I hear new bands trying to bring back that 2000s pop/punk rock , it’s sooo static and sound the same. No soul, or emotional resonance

Listening to Mark talk about Jerry Finn always gives me goosebumps. What a great guy who passed way too early.

I once heard Mark say that Jerry Finn was like the 4th member of Blink-182. He truly took Blink-182 to another level and as Mark said he defined their sound. I believe he passed just after the +44 record was made and I would have loved to see what he could have done with an AVA record.
When I think about it, if Blink had stayed together that album would have been a blend between WDNTW and +44 and Jerry Finn would have produced it. Definitely something I’ll always wonder. Finn’s quality and technique are unmatched to this day imo

If my memory serves me correctly Jerry passed away much later than that. More closer to neighbourhoods as blink started talking again after his passing.

@@cameronmurphy5850 Yeah, you're right - he passed away in 2008. Post '+44' first album, and post 'AVA' 2nd album. I really wonder how much different 'Neighborhoods' would've sounded if he were around then to have his say on that album. Jerry Finn was *unquestionably* the 4th member of blink-182. :)

@@vidr1058 Jerry Finn was revolutionary because of his love for music and production. I love Feldmann too but I feel like he plays it safe like all the other producers out there, looking out for securing the next job. It’s the attitude. Finn had a punk rock attitude, Feldmann has a “this is business” attitude. While both are so talented, there’s a reason songs with Jerry Finn involved become timeless classics.

In my opinion Jerry Finn is LARGELY to thank for Blink’s success. Dude was a monster!
I agree on not letting Feldman anywhere NEAR another Blink album eve!
On a side note-Mark Trombino produced Dude Ranch which was a monster of an an album so I think if they had continued with Trombino it could have been cool too! Trombino is Jimmy Eat World’s long time producer.

I listened to all of Blink-182’s albums today from start to finish and Enema of the State is by far the best album as a whole.
You can listen to it from start to finish and the flow is perfection.
The albums that came after sound fractured and inconsistent.

Jerry Finn really did make blink sound like blink. They’ve never really had a decent producer since. Feldman is so stale and boring, nine had all these weird hip hop people and I’m sorry but Travis is just not a producer to me. I LOVE the new album but the mixes are a disaster.
