Epic epic epic. The usual show closer. The Teatro Metropolitan is a prestigious opera house in Mexico City. They're from Monterrey, which is pretty big, but the shows in Mexico City are usually their biggest shows. This was one of two sold out nights, and at various points, their teachers and mentors over the years were invited to come onstage with them. It was a big deal for everyone involved. Thanks, nice reaction

"El Grito" - the Scream - is up there with Daltrey in "Won't Get Fooled Again" and any Dickinson scream. It's that good.

Great reaction video, Justin! Yep - They're playing in Mexico City, Mexico. "CDMX" is an abbreviation for "Ciudad de México". The Metropolitan Theater seats just over 3,000 people and The Warning sold out the first show on a Friday night, so they added a Monday night show, 3 days later and sold it out too. The theater took down the marquee sign and put "The Warning" on the outside of the building in huge 24" (or so) gold letters. Also fun to note is that Lzzy Hale's lighting engineer brought his lighting and video screen rig down to Mexico for the concert. In October, The Warning is playing at Mexico City's Pepsi Center WTC (World Trade Center), which is an 8,000+ person venue. They are sponsored by Pepsi for this show and it's being billed as "the best, yet" in terms of venue support for the band. I'm super excited to see that show's videos. In other news, The Warning is playing several songs at the MTV Video Music Awards, coming up on September 12th. They are one of three acts selected to perform on the Extended Play Stage. Again - super exciting to watch this band Evolve. Thanks!!

Nice info! I hope they televise their performance at the MTV VMA's. That would be epic to see them on TV. You sound like a huge fan of The Warning, so I might not be telling you something that you don't know, but they are also scheduled to play at Wacken Open Air on 8/1/2024.

The moment you see CDMX in the name of place, it automatically means that it is in Mexico City, as in Mexico this is the abbreviation for Ciudad De MeXico, which translate to Mexico City in English, so as the name says in these performances Teatro Metropolitan CDMX, so in English it is Metropolitan Theatre in Mexico City.
Teatro Metropolitan is a legendary venue in Mexico, it was open in 1943 as legendary cinema venue, up until 1985 when it closed, then they renovated it in 1995 and it was re-opened as mid-size venue with a capacity of 3165. The Warning announced that they would play there on August 26 2022 and the venue quickly sold out and this is why they added another show on the 29th, which is weirdly a Monday, because that was all they could have, so they thought that they would sell some tickets, but to their surprise it also sold out very quickly.
This is why for the current Mexican tour, this October through December, they booked venues in the 4000 to 6000 capacity.

Excelente información. Nada más una pequeña corrección porque me tocó vivir: en 1987 aún era el "Cine Metropólitan", y me tocó ver la película de la "Bamba" en su estreno en ese lugar, y tiempo después fue cuando cerraron. Saludos..

@@jkarlosmz Are you sure about that date, as everywhere I can find info on the Internet about this theatre, it says that the cinema closed in 1985, so if you are correct that means that Wikipedia and all the other sites that I found need to be corrected.

At 5:58 the part the drums go to half the guitar stays the same-ish because Dany adds all the vibrato to the riff for the second two bars. Personally my favorite part of the song. She isn't shredding or anything but it is very Megadeth esk sounding riff.

If you want to hear more of their harder more metal music check out the Queen of the Murder Scene (their 2nd album) concert at Lunario CDMX. The songs on that album are pretty heavy in both music and lyrics. It is a concept album, so it tells a story, and I would recommend reacting to it in the album order to get the most out of it.

one thing that really i like about this particular concert at Teatro Metropolitian (2022) and the footage from it is that you can see Pau preparing herself for an iconic part of this song... there is a camera looking at her from beneath the cymbals on her right... you can see her looking down, taking a deep breath, shaking her head, and firing her immensely powerful scream toward the heavens as she releases her frustrations and pain so she can *Evolve* 😜... it is one of the best views of this action she does while drumming as passionately as she does... she brings it for real each and every time they present this hard rocking power ballad in concert or live sessions...
Fun Fact: Pau has three screams/yells that she does... the first, most well known, one in *Evolve* , one in *Z* , and the other in *Hunter* ...
Fun Fact: during soundchecks, she's been known to use a much less powerful "Waaaaaaaaaa!" instead of the scream... gotta save that scream for use at the proper times, ya know? LOL

Their timing is so spot on, that they break clean, and continue on perfectly together. Survive, Shattered heart, & Unmendable's jams, are also up there!

Although all their songs have their great artistic details that may not be noticeable to everyone, I am sure that you are not among them. This is why so many people end up liking TW's works so much.

The sisters are Mexican, and from Monterrey. They are all fluent in English as well, and chose to write in English because it worked better creatively (larger pool, as it were.) They did take flak for that, but Pau wrote and sings lead in the retaliatory song Narcissista in Spanish, which - became a hit in Mexico and beyond the border. Go figure... they're great.

You know, Dany gets a lot of shit for not shredding solos in every song, but as far as I'm concerned, that’s a strength, not a weakness. When it comes to rhythm guitar, she is second to none, and I'd put her up there with the best rhythm guitarists in the business. She plays exactly what the song needs, and doesn't get bogged down in the masturbatory trap of lengthy, self-indulgent guitar solos, and when she does add a solo, it’s done tastefully, without ego or pretense. She’s not Yngwie Malmsteen and she’s not trying to be. I have nothing but the utmost respect for her in that regard.
