I remember Grace said she had a fear of tsunamis. I believe a tsunami is the perfect metaphor for her career. They are started by earthquakes. In her case that was AGT. That got everybody’s attention, it was quick and it set everything in motion. Since then she has been building herself up and making her way. A tsunami looks like just a ripple on the surface at this point. But then when it hits it hits hard, nothing can stop it.

Who knows where else she'll go for inspiration. I suspect the rule of thumb, when it comes to predicting Grace Vanderwaal, is to make no predictions.

I do personally think that Grace has a history in the early '70s but she could just as easily pass-thru and borough from all sorts of genres of music. @gracevanderwaal They won't be 'pop' till she bends it in that direction. This may or may not happen. I'm just observing what I am many musicians go thru as we find our perfect way of expressing ourselves thru music. Love this young Grace. She is a rare one and a rarer find. May she live a long and happy life and drop her florets on the doorsteps of everyone on the planet in an act of pure giving and pure love of life itself.
I appreciate the way y’all are analyzing Grace’s music abilities. I feel this will help document her career and journey for future generations.

There is a lot of good music and artist out today. Damn good songs you can jam or just chill too. For some reason Graces songs just take you places you’ve never been before. It’s like closing your eyes and getting lost for a while and when open them for a min you completely forget where you were. The dimensional aspects of her songs are just unreal to me. The mix of great lyrics, beats and meanings in her songs are second to none that’s out today. I don’t do drugs but if I did I could imagine this is how it would make me feel. I just can’t get enough. Keep em coming Grace!!!

I think that “The City” has a bit of a George Harrison vibe in it’s instrumentation, arrangement, and melody. Really good writing and arranging.
I felt the Beatle vibe too. Horns from All You Need Is Love, guitar arpeggios from Abbey Road. Then the genius to have the sliding guitar turn into an ambulance siren. .
The lyrics is soo damn great!!
