I had every Cosby album and laughed no matter how many times I listened. Bill Cosby was my favorite comedian. It's so sad to see what has become of him. He brought so much laughter to so many people. Unfortunately, he also brought so much pain to many others.
I used to listen to his records all the time growing up. I had some of my friends listen to this one in high school. We went and bought some monster masks and spent the next 10 years scaring the hell out of each other and all our other friends. Great memories!
I just re-discovered this album after 49 years, I can’t stop laughing! OH my, the memories of playing old vinyl records with my siblings!! Great Times!!!! 😊
The one I think is slightly better is when he tells the story of the slush balls and how he’s trying to get revenge on Junior Barnes (you gunkie). So he makes a snowball and puts it in the freezer waits till July 12 and goes to get it, and “[his] mother [has] thrown the snowball away”. The build up of suspense is great.
As teenagers my uncle and I (he is 4 years older) listened to this until we could recite it word for word. I'm 52 now and still think it's one of his greatest pieces of work along with the dentist.
What’s funny is how a lot of these comedy routines became episodes of Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids. The routines are great though. “He was so scared, he couldn’t even get a ‘hey hey hey’ in. He was just all “heeeeeeeeeeyeyeyeyey” 😂😂😂
I was and always will be a Cosby fan. S friend saw Coz live when he was a student at Oklahoma U. and bought the album. After I heard that I started buying all the Cosby albums I could and until a few months ago still had them. I watched all of the Cosby shows, cartoons, etc. on TV -- long live the coz!! djamz

To think the first half would be used for an episode of the titular show. The major difference was that Fat Albert got a stomachache and the mean kids won the “championship”, even though the sight of Fat Albert made them give up. But I guess the only reason they changed it so that the second half would involve the Cosby Kids feel guilty and sad that Fat Albert would be gone.
The music Cosby hums when he is walking after darl was chase music played in old Monogram westerns. Cosby mentions that he saw some movies with Buck Jones, Tim McCoy and Raymond Hatton called the Rough Riders. At the end of the movie, when the Rough Riders banded together to fight the outlaws, this music was played. Cosby mentions it in his soapbox derby routine.
Those wondering about the “wino run over by 2 kids” bit at the end need to listen to “9th Street Bridge” (or “Old Weird Harold”) which came earlier in the same performance.
I loved this album growing up. Love the way Bill Cosby's language about the statue conveys urgency. I can picture him running (and later Fat Albert) running to see Herman getting a beating.
I appreciate all these nice comments about Mr. Cosby. I agree with every one of them. I am 75 years old and I believe that he has been a part of my life forever! May he continue to be a part of it for however long I have left
When I was a kid and I mean really small , my parents had a whole bunch of bill Cosby comedy albums that's how I got introduced to him . I remember buying it cassette that had this routine on it and I wore it out . It's so good to get the year. This after so many years. Thank you so much for posting . I admit that, except for fat Albert I never knew much about bill Cosby's TV or movie work , but the albums and the routines that I have heard will live on in my heart and mind for as long as I live and I have been blessed to see him perform li live twice . He is not the only comedian I have seen , but he is the best that I've seen . He a always told his stories in a way that I believe everyone can relate to and that's what made h him so great . Please post more so that myself and others can relive great memories like the one that this routine brings back
I was a little kid parked in front of a feckin' HUGE cabinet model TV (for those of you nowhere near as old as I am, this meant a piece of wooden furniture that took up about 1/4 of your entire living room, and had a 24" screen) in the 70s. So when I heard this piece of comedy gold, I couldn't help but envision the entire thing with the cartoon characters. It was the same when I read The Outsiders - even though the book described Dallas as blonde-haired, he was still Matt Dillon in my head as I read the book. I simply couldn't help it.
My parents had an RCA console TV and I loved it. I still miss it. They gave it to my grandparents and it got where you couldn’t turn it off because the picture wouldn’t come back on. Just sound. Needless to say, it was tossed. It’s too bad the old TVs aren’t HD compatible.
Mr. Cosby is my favorite. When I was a kid, I'd come home from school and listen to "Wonderfulness" for hours. Next day go to school and tell his stories.
WITH ALL THE STUFF PEOPLE SAY ABOUT HIM I DON'T CARE TOO ME HE IS ONE OF THE GREATEST FUNNY MEN A LIVE MAY GOD BLESS HIM ALWAYS I WILL ALWAYS BE A HUGE FAN
Well they're not mutually exclusive; someone could be a serial rapist AND have comedic talent. I still laugh at his old comedy, but I don't think he's a good person at all. I can't bring myself to send good blessings, sorry.
I just told my brother about this. LOL!!! 🤣 I've never seen a game of buck/buck, but I'd love to. I grew up during this period. This was during the golden age of play(IMO). We didn't have many toys, so we had to exercise the 7 pounds of flesh between our ears and make up our own rules. Kids don't have that today. I think that's sad.
We played this game in northern England in the 1950s and called it Mutterkitty. You needed a fat kid in your team but they were rare in those days. It didn't do your back any good.
I had his albums as a kid. God, I miss this kind of humor.... Just plain old funny story telling without all the vulgarity.
No time for negativity when listening to Bill. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I’ve never heard another comedian paint a better picture with their comedy than Bill Cosby.
"I forgot I was behind him" is possibly the greatest punchline in all of comedy.

Dan Miskelly Did you they turned the first half of the sketch into an actual episode?
"Monsters cannot attack you if you have you're music with ya!"
Some of the funniest s**t ever. Been listening since we were little kids back in the 70's.

This is my favorite Cosby "bit."
"Buck Buck" is derived from "Bucca Bucca quot sunt hic (How Many Are Here)?" It dates back to 1500's Europe for a children's game.

It's the world's introduction to Fat Albert, love the shock and glee in the audience as Albert enters the story.
listened to this as a kid on 33rpm vinyl and it's still a riot!
I love hearing these again ! In the late 60's I memorized them. I still remember the dialogue !
At 8:32, "I forgot I was behind him." I really did LMFAO!!
One of the best.
Used to listen to these when they were new and laugh til there was tears in my eyes. Still funny!

Bill Cosby Will always be the best of the best. No matter what anyone says about him. I have the greatest respect for Bill Cosby.
