It really confuses me when we’ve got uncommon and rare skins with 4+ edit styles and a backbling but an epic skin doesn’t get either.
1. Uncommon skins never have back blings, those are bought separately.
2. There aren’t many if any reactive uncommon skins
3. They know people will be shelling out their money on reskins like this.

It only took 1 YEAR for this skin to come out. I kinda wish this came out on HALLOWEEN. Very cool skin! It's weird that this skin costs 1,500 vbucks without a backbling, but I guess Epic knows that people will buy any Midas they bring out. I like the reactivity and I love that for the non reactive style, it's the fully reactive style. You would think that it would be the stage 1 of reactivity style lol.

Who remembers when hollowhead came out and people were crazy because it was kinda a reskin. And it was such a big deal. Now the majority of Halloween skins are reskins of some sorts and it’s a norm now. Won’t complain though cause some are great atleast
epic made it more acceptable to make reskins by tying those into the story aka loopers and snapshots of loopers (reason epic gave for so many jonesys and ramirez' being in the game) if you view it like that it becomes kinda more fun whenever there's a reskin

i think it’s worth it because it gives you a wrap and he’s effective but i think the reason it’s epic is that he is purple and it wouldn’t fit if it wasn’t purple i guess

They couldve at least reskinned Midas' original backbling to be a matt black with a purple glow or something like that. Like it doesn't take that much brain power to reskin the whole skin set at least (though it does take more time I suppose)
lmao they probably do at this point. Or they slap some random thing on it like "It glows in the dark! So now you will have to pay 2000 vbucks for it" that's what I feel like they did with this skin. Like the fact that he has 'shadow touch' and turns into a glowy person when you get 3 elims is enough for epic to make it cost more than it's worth.
maybe we can achieve the same thing we got with the flytrap skin guy. eventually we get a backbling lol
It really sucks we can’t have an always off effect for this skin. After using him for 3 games I got really sick and tired of looking like a god damn glow stick.

My guess is if they did you would essentially have normal Midas which was a Battle pass skin so that would make problems for Epic on its own.

The touch effect on guns should be a bit more pink. I think its a tad bit too purple compared to the growing glow on him

Glowing all the time you never get to enjoy the original style. As soon as I land I get 3 Elims so the rest of the game I'm glowing. I wish you can turn that off.

The thing that annoys me the most about the skin isn’t the price or the no backbling, but it’s the fact you don’t have the option to completely turn off the glow effect. It’s either you play with the reactive version and after 3 kills you’re fully glowing, or you play with the fully glowing version right away. The reactive off version is a scam, I much rather have the option to play with the stage 1 version of the skin.
Stage 1 is basically Shadow version of battle pass Midas lol

I think the skins really nice and i loved the hand effects since last year but 1500 for a reskin and no backbling? Should be 1200 or 1500 with some basic backbling like a shadow pistol that’d look really nice
I agree. 1200 sounds perfectly reasonable. But I feel like it's 1500 because of something I'm gonna call the Midas Tax. (If it's midas, its gonna be expensive.)

or midas' backbling we got from the ch2 s2 battle pass but it's matt black and has a faint outer glow like the stage 1 / 0 elim version of shadow midas with reactivity turned on
or maybe just the knife that's in that backbling. anything but nothing would be great @ epic games
Epic needs a real message from us to add a third style, Without that glowing reactivity
The pricing could have been justified with something cool and unique like the sound modifier on emotes we got last year as an option, such a missed opportunity.
Reactive feature make no sense since you can get full reactive skin on "reactive off" style without need to kill someone, non reactive style should look like original form of reactive style

this skin really isn't worth 1,500 vbucks, i got the skin myself, as someone who also didn't miss out on original midas, they should've added a pickaxe along with backbling and made the skin 1,800
Honestly I have midas rex, summer midas and shadow midas. It was my fault not stopping at summer midas because the shadow version isn't worth 1500 vbucks.

Skin pretty meh. Ngl I did fell for the hype factor and bought him, but after a couple of matches, I just went to get red Jade for her zombie style and played with her and Nightsurf Bomber more.
I know most hate collabs but sometimes even the original skins are worse depending on the reskins.
Certain reskins like Hush is good based on her original concept.
What I do want to let the people here know if you're reading my comment, definitely go after common and Rare skins because the rest of this year and next are the times where they'll get more styles.
Also Axo skin is getting a lava style so whoever have that skin, GG. He's definitely worth 1200 Vbucks considering he's gonna have 3-4 styles now / soon

Besides most skins pass 1200 that's not a Collab are not really that worth it because Epic be trying to give less while charging more.
There are only a few 25-50 epic skins that are worth money, but the rest are not.

Shadow Midas is definitely worth it, since he has reactive abilities, two styles, cool effect and aura around him. Also the boss form of Shadow Midas didn’t have a back bling anyways

Same me too. My hope are that next Halloween we get a cool edit style or back bling. For now though, love Midas and all, but I already have the original and don't have the 15 to spare. So i'm passing. Hopefully they give him some love though and don't just drop him entirely.

I actually like it, I didn’t play fortnite last year for the Shadow Midas rap which got me a lil sad but this skin brings that option back. Sadly it’s only one skin but i do still have to say I’m a big fan

@@secretagentkarve9431 You wouldn't be able to tell if they earned the full reactivity or not. Face it, he's just a glow stick that turns other things into glow sticks with no option to turn anything off.
The reactivity is really bad, he just glows more. And the second edit style doesn’t even let you disable that glow so you will always be a glow stick. And that wrap was free, so you shouldn’t really say that is in the price. Also there are common skins that have like 4 edit styles that actually change the skin only worth 800

As a midas simp I am buying the skin as soon as its out and I am going to buy every single skin of his but sadly I won't be able to have his original skin because I started playing fortnite again in chapter 2 season 3 then quit in chapter 2 season 7 and saw the amount of midas skins that I have missed. Currently I only have the anime one so hopefully in the future I'm spending my money good.

Anyone else find this Fortnitemares really underwhelming when it comes to cosmetics? Almost every single skin was just a new version of an existing skin or a collab. I can barely think of any original skins that came out. I was expecting a lot more.
For me personally, Grisabelle saved the whole thing but I can definitely see, where you're coming from with this. Compared to last year, which had so much cool and unique skin sets, this year seems to be cool (to be fair) but still a bit underwhelming... So yeah. I agree.

I’m sorry but it is worth it. 1,500 for a very Important character to the Fortnite story and he has a reactive style.
Normal Midas was important to the story. Shadow Midas was just an event version and left no impact on the story
