I hunt for food. To put meat on the table for my family. I just don’t understand killing an animal just to say you did it and hang it’s head on a wall. Truly sad
How can any one hunt down these animals and just slaughter them for their so called sports hunting. As a kid i watched stuff like this on tv and it was exciting to watch. This crap should be outlawed. These animals are enticed into reacting against a threat they have no defense to fight against.
As an avid hunter it truly saddens me to see trophy hunting. It is literally pointless. True hunting is about honoring your animal and thanking it for providing your family with meat. Hunting for a head or a hide will never be honoring the animal, you’re honoring your own ego.
May I ask whether you understand the concept of "the carrying capacity" of a given habitat and what happens when apex predators like lions, bears, tigers, leopards, wolves, etc overpopulate an area with no natural predators to keep their population at a manageable level? I don't think the video showed the animals as being defenseless. Then you brought in.a separate issue, with the unstated hypothesis that what the filmed showed was harmful to the planet. He could not have pulled this off with a mature Cape buffalo. As a lifelong hunter, I can say that none of these scenes had anything to do with self defense. The hunters were hunting. The wolf pursued by a hunter on a snowmobile is the farthest thing from sportsmanship. Pursuing an animal to exhaustion isn't ethical to begin with and illegal in most jurisdictions. In slow motion, one can see that the moose was nearly gut shot, not exactly a good hunting shot. When an animal sits after being shot it's because it's been shot too far back, it's usually a spine shot over the rump. Cape buffalo are tough animals but as in any form of hunting, shot placement is crucial to make a humane, ethical kill. Bad shots or poor shots make animals suffer unecessarilly.

That moose was impressive, so beautiful it took my breath... I wish he could have lived on to make this world such a beautiful place for a few more years. In my view, it’s more of a success to not be seen by the wild and shoot beautifully with a lens instead of a canon.
That moose may have provided several families with a years supply of meat and the money spent by the hunters may have preserved the habitat from timber or agricultural interests. You need to look at the big picture instead of animals as being pieces on a chessboard.

Если я вам дам к примеру свое оружие и вы пойдете с ней на медведя, то 99% что медведь вас убьёт. А если не убьёт, значит просто очень повезло. Я пристрелил 11 медведей за свою жизнь и двух из них незапланировано. Просто наткнулся по своей глупости и непослушания старших и чуть не стоило мне жизни. С тех пор твердо усвоил простую истину. Если медведя можно обойти, то его лучше не стрелять. А сейчас вообще с возрастом пришло понимание что кроме как охотой ради мясо нельзя больше никого убивать. Grey Wolves aren't endangered anymore, they need to be managed to prevent herbivore big game animal numbers at a healthy level as wolves are an Apex predator nothing but us hunters are able to keep their numbers in check. predator numbers not kept in check has a catastrophic affect on an ecosystem, same with herbivore numbers. now big cats such as lion leopards and such don't fall into this category as they're native to the areas they're in and i agree with you. hunting for sport is just sad.

It's a leopard, not a tiger that is pursued by the dogs...The hunter who hunts buffalo with a spear missed entirely, his spear glanced off the side of a horn, nothing to do with " the thickness of the buffalo's skin ". His throw isn't powerful enough anyway entirely relying on the weight of the spear and he finished the job with his sidearm. This is a very average or below average water buffalo. He could not have pulled this off with a mature Cape buffalo. As a lifelong hunter, I can say that none of these scenes had anything to do with self defense. The hunters were hunting. The wolf pursued by a hunter on a snowmobile is the farthest thing from sportsmanship. Pursuing an animal to exhaustion isn't ethical to begin with and illegal in most jurisdictions. In slow motion, one can see that the moose was nearly gut shot, not exactly a good hunting shot. When an animal sits after being shot it's because it's been shot too far back, it's usually a spine shot over the rump. Cape buffalo are tough animals but as in any form of hunting, shot placement is crucial to make a humane, ethical kill. Bad shots or poor shots make animals suffer unecessarilly.

That moose may have provided several families with a years supply of meat and the money spent by the hunters may have preserved the habitat from timber or agricultural interests. You need to look at the big picture instead of animals as being pieces on a chessboard.
