I have had my T4 now for four years. Just bought the overland package with the oversized waterproof bag, footprint and better stakes. Death Valley, Boondooks Nevada, Big Sur, NorCal fishing.... The Gazelle tents are really good tents. For car/overlanding camping. I would buy the T3X but I already have a T4. Maybe in 10 years, when the T4 is toast.....
Finally pulled the trigger on one of these. I do allot of 1 or 2 night trips and I find my trailer with roof top tent not worth the time to set up. Prefer a more minimalist set up for these trips. Don't get me wrong, 3 days or more the trailer and roof top tent are great, but for quick trips or if you are on the move this is a much better option for sure.
I have the t4 overland and I absolutely love it. The only thing about them is that with all the head room it makes the tent horrible in the winds. But for 75% of my travels it’s not an issue with where I am camping.
awesome tents and great review! But at 57 inches tall when packed it's not easy to stow in a smaller SUV w/o folding one of the rear seats down, which is not an option for me. I wish they'd make a T2, I don't need to stand in it, but love the easy setup and breakdown of these. I just can't fit it in the rear with other gear.
I just got the T4 in that color this past week. Snow on the ground in the Rockies, CO right now. So, since I'm a nomadic minimalist, I had room in my apartment basecamp to set it up... carefully so as not to disturb the fan overhead space. It is a great size for me, because I like a tent I can stand up in. I think it's about 78 ". 90 sec set up and take down us accurate. Took me an extra minute because of the fan😎. First think I loved about my Gazelle is the quality. Great. The bag itself is well made and no trouble for me to put the tent back into. Its 30 lbs and will be good exercise for me to lug it to the back of my Explorer: I already have spring fever and can't wait to use it outdoors since I'm stay put this winter.
My T3 is an earlier model, about 2 years old. At 76" long i had to shop carefully for a cot as many are longer than that. Sounds like this new version will take a longer cot. It REALLY is as easy to put up and take down as this video shows. And the materials and construction are first rate. You can tell that as soon as you see the carry bag.
I had originally wanted a T3, then they discontinued them. Usually, its just me going out. Sometimes, my GF goes, but not often enough to justify the T4. Then, they discontinued the T3 models. I had read that they planned on rereleasing them early in 2021, so I hopped onto their website and signed up for notifications. The day I got the email, I ordered one. Got it just the other day!!! I am going to do a complete setup video at some point, once the snow is gone. I havent even taken it out of the bag yet. One thing I noticed in your video, was they still have the crappy tent stakes. Not a deal breaker by any means, as I have some beefy ones I use for my other tents. But, just wanted to point that out, in case anyone was looking.
I went with the 30 second oz tent. It’s longer when in the tube but it’s fabric is tough and it has strong aluminium struts inside. It’s not what I would call spacious inside so I went for the five person model. Very happy with it now.
I have a T4 and I am supper happy with it but I just bough the T3X because is a little smaller and now I can bring friends to camp. Thank You for the discount code !
I love my T4Plus, it's the best tent I've ever owned. It withstood 5 days under hurricane winds and rain (no joke, we were caught in it during hurricane ETA last year...). I'm super happy with this.
I’d be very interested in a two-man sized version that packs much shorter for motorcycle camping. The poles would need to be shorter or telescopic, I suppose. On a bike, packability is the key.
stopping at a campsite, opening the rear and cracking a beer while having a meal. relaxing to an extend that my fellows anxiously reminds me of when i am going to start setting up camp. then when i'm all done, i get up and open the tent and quick pitch shower. have a wash and go to bed. touring rig ftw.
Love my tent but they should make the rain fly stick out some more (if possible, I'm no engineer) the rain will fall and drip into the entrance a bit. Not a deal breaker though
LOL!! First time I've seen wrestle or tackle a tent to the ground. Great stuff, Michael! I bought a Gazelle T3 but returned it to Amazon. I was waiting for the T3X; didn't want an bright orange T4. At your price this tent is a bargain with my membership. Sold!
It's cool, but it looks like a summer tent. Would be better if you could put a woodstove in it for fall and winter camping which are the better times to camp.
I had similar thoughts. I'm less concerned about a tent stove, but more concerned about a mesh top not retaining heat very well, even with the rain fly
How is it in winter with the mesh top? Obviously the rainfly helps keep in heat to some degree, but is this really a 3 season tent? Or can it be used in sub-freezing conditions?
I bought mine here and this tent is amazing, easy to travel with than the T4, just a little smaller but not by much. Highly Recomended go ahead buy one I love it and I may sell my T4 orange
I'm very impressed with the setup and take down time! Though I'd go with the T4 just so I could stand up inside. The T3 does have a more interesting length than a lot of tents I see, but even at 82" I'd probably still end up touching the walls at night to let rain through the fabric :/
Best ending!! I won't be closing one like that for sure. This looks like a fantastic tent. Itching to go on some adventures and have been looking at alll sorts of options as I am not sleeping well in my Subaru outback. Thanks for the review. Subscribed.
I used mine a couple of weeks ago. I used a diesel heater. It was about 20 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Ran the heater on low all night. It didn't get down to freezing in the tent, in the sleeping bag I was more than comfortable. I am working on a way to close off the top to retain the heat. But at the end of the day I got was never cold.
I have extensive experience with the T4 version and while it is easy to set up and well made, there is a huge design flaw that cannot be overlooked. In high wind scenarios, the sides pop and collapse inward and have to be pushed out. I was even struck in the head by one of the center joints where all the poles converge. With a traditional tent, this isn’t a problem because the tent doesn’t collapse, and has poles that are all free flowing.
Most people have the time to set up. Kind of part of the gig.. Real issue is take town time which nobody likes. Back to set up which has to included total set including pegs, fly and bedding e.c.t.. Now that’s what the clock should be on. If it’s just set up then the Oztent RV.s are a quicker set up if you are car camping.. I like these in any case if you don’t mind a lighter less robust option..👍🇦🇺
I've had the T4 ~1 yr now and love it. Still on the fence about the removeable floor (velcro's in on all 4 sides, we camp in fire ant territory), but in 1 year few bugs have gotten in
Great review. I wish I would have seen this 8 months ago. The price of a T3X is $499.99 everywhere I look (retail store prices). SMH. The T3 is looking more attractive now :)
Several people have asked this, but I haven't seen any answers. Several reviews on Amazon and in other places complaining about bugs being able to get in the tent due to the floor design. It's also mentioned in the comments here. Does the new T3X address this problem? Living in Minnesota I am very concerned about summer camping and the mosquitos.
I enjoyed the vid but pitching a ground tent is part of the the great out doors. Millions of dedicated outdoorsman use them all the time. Its like using the restroom #2 nobody really wants to deal with the mess but its part of being humen. The gazelle tent is cool price seems really afordable i expected it to be much more. Enjoyed the end lol!

OK, having a rapid set-up/tear-down tent is fantastic. But the other option some roof-top tents provide is the ability to leave the mattress and bedding in the tent while driving, saving time having to inflate/deflate an air mattress, having to unroll/roll up the sleeping bag, having to store those items inside the vehicle while driving, and so on. Those are tasks/issues not discussed in these high-speed set-up/tear-down videos. Have you guys found rapid inflate/deflate air mattress solutions? Quick-storage sleeping bags? Okay..A little more info on the water proofing and roominess..I'm looking for a new tent that will fit my cot , and handle extended periods of rain for this years Adventure , a 981 mile Canoe trip...So if it rains for 5 days non stop , Is this tent gonna stay dry inside..Also , what kinds of winds and storms can it handle..I usually use my Alaskan Guide Series 4 man , and its a tight little shelter that will handle sustained winds of 55 mph , and non stop rain for weeks..But its not quick or easy to set up by myself..Last but not least , head room..Can a person sit up on his cot and still have head room in this tent..?..TIA..

Its a great deal. Well worth the price and value.
What a huge package ! I might think it s possible to make it 2x smaller in the future and much more reliable and strong.

Does it come with a pole repair kit? How hard would it be to repair/replace a pole or hub?
It does not, and that's a good question. I am hard on gear, and I have never had an issue with the metal poles/hubs.
Any idea when they will be back in stock? Also, any issue with unwanted guests getting in through the velcro floor?
I’ve seen a lot of reviews saying that there are gaps in the bottom corners where bugs can get in, do you have this issue?
I have seen these comments too, and I hope somebody can give a definitive answer, this is probably my largest concern at this point.
