Can you do a side by side comparison of the Stella 6000 & 8000

  • @DMAngling

Also the way you cast in stella is different than saltiga. The major thing is these reels are made for offshore expeditions, so casting distance is not a major concern.

    Yoo bro' very nice test!
In my point of view.. Stella will be always a Stella, besides in video Stella it's smaller than Saltiga.
I have a Stella FW and I will never change it for another brand.
I grow up with Shimano.. If you know what I mean.. Anyways super your channel and your films..
    Keep goin' bro' 👋👋👋😎
    Cheers mate 🙏

Stella with worm gear osc + forward wide angle spool lip would win the race of casting any day, saltiga locomotive osc system is simple with fewer parts n that is good for durability but then again saltiga made another handicap with spool lip desgine whuch consist of two lips to stimulate the need of an angle by having shorter inside lip than the outer one, such stupid instead of simple shimano’s method the straight forward one. Still with more parts worm gear osc of shimano is solid like hell, not even a single failure across my all shimano reels.

Thanks for this test, I've been waiting for this for a long time! I am a supporter of Shimano and I had a feeling that Shimano is better than Daiwa in this category, but I didn't expect such a big difference. Thanks again for this test, it finally gives a clear answer which technology works better here. 👋👋👋

@@captainsalty7777 As for me, you have a big thank you, because not everyone has the opportunity to do such a test on their own (it is about access to both of these beautiful beasts before buying to make choice and to decide). Casting length it's a important thing also (for me very)! I know that to make it perfect, the braids on both reels should be of the exact same brand etc. etc., but these are the details. This test gives you an idea which reel in this category has an advantage. Good job and Thank you!!!

Shimano reels do cast farther than daiwa. I have the stradic fl which has the Stella long stroke spool and daiwa certate lt which has long cast abs. Both cast great but shimano wins in distance for me.

Stella the best from the east 🙂. One question - how many line 50lb capacity on Stella 8000?

  • @maxscmidt3857
    @maxscmidt3857 3 года назад +2

you need the same line, the same line level on the spool, same leaderlength(if leader is used) and the same lure. aside from that, you can't compare the 2020 saltiga to the 2019/2020 stella, the true max drag of the saltiga is WAY higher, it has an all metal antireverse and an backup antireverse, the stella has just an plastik housed anti revers and only an backup antireverse in 20000 size and up, has way more cranking power(under load!) and feels just rocksolid while the new stella has an unmistakeable spongy feel. only downside of the saltiga is hat it's magsealed, but seriously, better get a makaira than a stella if you hate magsealed reels. and yes, I have both, bought from my own money. the old stellas are fine but you can get problems with spare parts in a few years.

use more weighed lure for the saltiga as the spool size is bigger .
The true comparison count on durability .
No way stilla can win over the saltiga .
I got three stilla 2020 with 2 got broken gears .
Thats why i still prefare the 2019 stilla model , with this fail even 2019 price its more than 2020 model's .
New Saltiga no issue at all its A Tank .

Did the same test here in japan with the 18k sizes. Saltiga casted further on average by 4m. The difference is neglegible. this test is b.s

The smaller diameter of the spool, the longer the cast. So of course an 8000 size beat a 10000 size. Duh..

The comparison is funny and inaccurate 🤣🤣🤣 obviously he cast softly and out of timing on the Saltiga. This has nothing to do with casting distance. I have Stella's and 2010 saltiga up until now but and i say but when i tried and bought the new 2020 Saltigas! Man oh man! I changed the heart. The smoothness, power and comfort is all there. Saltiga did a full step on the upgrades not like Stella "upgrades" are all the from 2013-2020. still feels flimsy and straight plastic.
