      Hey RedMag, thanks for watching! It really is the love story of NYC. It’s about as realistic of an experience that we can show until that stupid heavy traffic on the roads and bike lanes returns once everyone is back in the office in the middle of summer 🥹. How’s your Queens Blvd commute been? It’s been pretty crazy on there lately

On the vlogs, I have to focus so much on what I’m trying to say so I end up going much slower than usual. On these, I can focus more on the riding and enjoying it!
      Congrats on the TSG Pass Pro! It’s a great looking helmet and it’s super light. Not quite as straining as a heavy moto helmet! How do you like riding with it so far?

    • @jockethebastard
      @jockethebastard Год назад +1

      @@eyebahnrides i totally understand that, I really like the vlogs also, been catching up on all your videos.
      Living in small town it makes my palms sweaty just watching you navigate through that New York traffic, I really like how you ride aggressive and at the same time respectful.
      The TSG is just amazing! I had a motorcycle helmet before, and it was a pain to wear, super heavy, very hot in the summer and it fogged up all the time. The TSG is so well ventilated and haven’t fogged up on me yet, and the field of vision is so good I felt like I wasn’t wearing a helmet the first times.
      I’ve read a lot about the sizing on this helmet and I made the mistake of sizing up like many do, but I ended up returning it and getting my normal size. I’m 58 and the M fits just perfect. I guess it’s a matter of taste, but I want my helmet tight on my head, like it’s supposed to be.
      How’s your helmet holding up after some time?

      @@jockethebastard I'm glad you've been enjoying the other videos! I appreciate your patience with the older content because it took some time to dial the settings in and get the sound levels to where I'm happy with it. I'm actually really new to this filming and editing so it was quite a process over the last 6 months! As for the riding, it's always a balance of aggression and respect here in NYC. I know there are plenty of crazy people out there making crazy content but I wanted to show my community that there are people like me who can have a good time with out being a reckless jerk.
      Thats great to hear and I totally agree with you about the moto helmets. There are times in the blistering hot summers of NYC that even the TSG feels hot and not ventilated enough. Thats why you see me constantly trying to adjust the visor so I can find a setting that works for me lol. I think you did the right thing with the sizing. You want it fitted to your head with out being too tight or too loose.
      After a year of riding with it, it's holding up well. Its got plenty of scratches and chips, so it's looking well loved. At this point, I am looking for a replacement visor for the silver one and I'm looking for a blacked out one as well. It's not urgent, but I'd like to get it done sooner than later
      By the way, what do you ride and where do you normally ride?

      I’ve been jumping back and forth between older and newer videos and I can definitely tell the improvement in sound quality, great job! You seem to have gotten real good quality cameras from the start, cause I think the visuals are real good.
      We haven’t gotten any real heat yet, although it’s been a warm week, 19-20 degrees Celsius. In the beginning of the week it was 5-6 degrees in the morning and I could really feel the cool air through helmet, so wouldn’t ride with it in winter for longer periods. It didn’t fog up at all at those temperatures either, and that’s a great improvement from my previous helmet.
      I ride in a small town in northern Sweden, Örnsköldsvik. I ride Apollo Ghost, nothing close to your Nami, but it’s my “first” scooter. Actually my third, I bought 3 scooters in 2 months last summer. Started out with a 350w, upgraded to 500w (found a great deal) but it was a shitty scooter, sold that one and got the Ghost. I hit 62kmh as top speed, and that is enough to keep up with traffic around here, but I must admit that I would like some more top speed.

    • @eyebahnrides
      @eyebahnrides  Год назад +1

      @@jockethebastard Thanks, I'm happy to see that you can hear the difference! The camera settings are a bit tougher because we have such a "high contrast environment" in NYC so regardless of settings, the footage will never be perfect because its an action camera. If I set it for low light because of the buildings, everything will get blown out when I'm out in the open. If I set it for bright conditions, when I get in between the buildings the footage is too dark lol. So, I just have it in the middle now and I just have to accept that it wont be perfect!.
      Very nice! The ghost is a great scooter thats alot of fun to ride and it can definitely keep up with traffic. I went through the same process hahaha! I started with a Xiaomi, then upgraded to a segway, then to a Kaabo Mantis, and finally to the Nami Burn E all in a span of 2-3 months! The Mantis was great but just like you I was looking for a little bit more top end speed to keep up with traffic on the faster roads. Also, I needed something water resistant because its always wet here in NYC. What are you planning on getting next? lol

      Oh man, that's a heck of a trek from Forest Hills to the city. The roads on Queens Blvd or Metropolitan ave are so bad and the drivers are so aggressive, I can see why you want to upgrade to the Burn E! I used to live out in Kew Gardens on Metropolitan Ave and I used to ride a fixie to work in the city (before e-mobility was a thing). I remember having so many stressful encounters on the road regardless if I took Metropolitan or Queens Blvd all the way in. If you have the time, stop by the FluidFreeRide shop in BK and ask for Chuck. Let him know that you know me from the channel and he'll take care of you. Your route goes way south to Williamsburg bridge, then all the way back north. Not from NY, but your route map at the end (which is very cool) visually shows a MUCH shorter route over the Ed Koch Queensborough Bridge (had to look that up). Why not cut your route way shorter and go that way? Your scooter is fast enough to flow with traffic, especially rush hour traffic. Also, from your work to home, how long would that commute be in a car?

    • @eyebahnrides
      @eyebahnrides  Год назад +1

      Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel! The main reason is, I bring everyone along on these longer "ride therapy" routes that I have through the city because I love being on the road. There's just something about flying through the city by yourself! The other reason is, I did the short route quite a bit early in the channel and it's less interesting because there's just less to see. The longer routes range anywhere between 30-50 minutes while the short route is 16 minutes lol. I often use the shorter route when I'm rushing to work or I want to get home quickly.
      If I drove to midtown, during off peak hours, it's only 30 minutes. During rush hour it could be anywhere between an hour to 90 minutes and I have to pay about $75 for 8 hours of parking.. If I take the public transportation and everything runs perfectly (it rarely does), it could take me 30-40 min to get to work. Commuting via public transportation can take 45-60 min in reality lol.
      I hope this helps shed some light on it!

I’ve never had it overheat even with high speed riding. Last year I switched to motor temp sensor in the summer and it was always good. The controller is located at the front of the scooter so it gets alot if air and it helps with cooling.

      @lrmat Год назад +2

      For NYC... Yeah, the combination of the density of pedestrians, bicyclists, and cars with the occasional worn asphalt PLUS! the speed limit in place - 28-33mph is the sweet spot for a bike/scooter. Ideally, I'd like more power, not for the speed, but to effortlessly stay at that sweet spot and not feel the motor straining.

    • @eyebahnrides
      @eyebahnrides  Год назад +1

      Hey SS Offshore and Luis, you’re both absolutely correct. The density of traffic and the terrible state the roads are in, forces you to go slower. 30-45 is the sweet spot. • @eyebahnrides
      @eyebahnrides  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for watching and welcome to the channel! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. If we were going on black and white laws by the book, it would not be legal to run the red. You know what else is illegal in NYC? Carrying ice cream in your pocket on Sundays lol. In all seriousness though, there’s a flow to the traffic that we locals just work with through years of experience. Sometimes you take the light sometimes you don’t, there’s no rhyme or reason to it other than do it safely. There’s tons of unspoken rules of the road for vehicles, alternative transport, and pedestrian so that’s one of the reasons why it seems so chaotic in NYC. In the heat of the moment we all complain about it but deep down inside we understand 😂.
      Check out my recent full commute video on the Nami Klima. I do commentary on things like why we do what we do. As far as the way law enforcement responds to the running of red lights, it depends on who you get. Some folks just want to see the city burn and they ticket everyone. On the other hand, you get some cops that get irritated that they had to tell you to go when the road is clear.
      I hope this answers your question!

I had an Inmotion V11 way before I started the channel so I don't have any recordings from then. I stopped riding my EUC after I got into an accident and fractured my hand. When I recovered, I sold it for my Super73 because I lost my confidence in my ability to navigate the city with it.

If not, I would reach out to Michael Sha directly through the Nami FB group and he can probably sell you a few sets.

      If i we're going to decide between E2 and E2 Max and space and/or budget weren't an issue, I would always go Max. I like that I can tone down the performance when I don't feel like using it and crank it up when I do. However, I would also be happy with the E2 if it were just a pure commuter/ joyride scooter. I hope this answers your question!

      I know your question was not directed to me but I will say that I purchased the E2. It's a great scooter but I wish I'd of purchased the 2 Max. The top speed of the E2 is just not there, for me at least. I weigh about 208 lbs and can get my E2 up to about 44-47 MPH, with a full battery. Once the battery is around 60%, the top speed is about 39-41 MPH. However, when on back roads I'd like to get it up to 60 MPH to make short work of longer distances. Or at least when the battery is at a lower state of charge it can still go at least 50 MPH. I still love my E2, but think the E Max would be a better buy.

      Hey Emmanuel, thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel! The DT Thunder is a heck of a scooter, it must be alot of fun to commmute on it. My range depends on how aggressive I'm riding. If i'm not doing anything crazy I have about 60-70 miles of range. This is estimated from me charging every 5 days of commuting with a round trip commute of approximately 12 miles. For everything that I do, including these long rides and group rides, I've never had range anxiety. I must say I've never been to a group ride long enough to test the limits of the battery.
      When the scooter was still new and the battery had less cycles on it, I did a 50+mile highspeed ride and I still had 12% when i got home. The route was Woodside to Belt Pkwy to Marine Pkwy Bridge to Rockaway Beach to Cross Bay Blvd to Cunningham Park to Whitestone to Astoria Park and back to Woodside all on one charge!

    Hey Ivan, I have a concerning question for you. Since you have a very powerful scooter that hits high speeds with ease, do you feel that your TSG helmet would protect you in an event of a high speed crash? I say this because I have the same helmet and I'm currently conflicted in getting a Motorcycle helmet like Ruroc Atlas 4.0. I may go with a Shoei or Arai but I don't think I need to spend that much for that type of helmet. I much rather go for the Ruroc helmet. What are your thoughts?

    • @ssoffshore5111

    • @eyebahnrides
      @eyebahnrides  Год назад +1

      Hey Jess, great question. I have an Icon Airflite that I use if I’m usually doing extensive high speed riding. I believe the TSG helmet will give me sufficient protection at my usual commuting speeds. I don’t like the weight of the motohelmet for daily commuting because of the strain on my neck as well as the stifling heat.
      As for choice of helmet, I would just go with the Shoei or Arai. I’ve tried the Rurocs because they looked cool but they are kind of clunky and don’t breathe well. I ended up selling my dragon one to fund the Icon Airflite. I preferred the unobstructed fov in the airflite. Surprisingly, it breathed pretty well for a motohelmet while riding a scooter. (I don’t think the scooters are fast enough to get proper air into the helmets)

    • @eyebahnrides
      @eyebahnrides  Год назад +1

      Hey SKNails, thanks for watching the video. Whether the Nami is worth it or not over the WKGTP is really up to the individual and what they’re looking for. There are things like top end speed, stability at top top speeds, and value for money that the WKGTP does well. However, the Nami does ride comfort, design, and handling really well. I personally believe that these are a few of the things that make that price difference worth it. However, a fan of Kaabo will tell you otherwise.
      I know this isn’t as definitive as you’d like but it really is quite subjective. It’s like comparing a Hellcat to a GTR, each one has its merits and it’s hardcore fanbase.

    • @eyebahnrides
      @eyebahnrides  Год назад +1

      @@sknails2723 The Nami are definitely more comfortable to ride because the WKGTP is very stiff despite its suspension. The dual forks only really come in handy at the top end speed because it helps stabilize the scooter from speed wobbles, however, at 0-45mph the Nami doesn't need the dual stem. It's quite agile for a big scooter and the suspension really helps keep it planted when doing tight maneuvers. Both scooters have a terrible turning radius when you're in a tight space because of how limited the neck is and the size of the scooter. I've had my Nami for almost 2 years now and I can say that I like it as is, and I don't need the dual stem. With an adjustment to the suspension along with proper riding form, the Burn E is great at all speeds.

      Thanks for watching the video ChillMusic, I appreciate ya. We call it "Filtering to the front of traffic". It's something that most NYers do because at one point or another in our lives we've seen personally, read in the news, or personally knew someone that got "sandwiched" in between 2 vehicles because of driver didn't see the person. For decades, I thought this was a NYer thing. I learned that people in the DMV (DC, Maryland, VA) also did it when we were on our motorcycles. They also did it for same reasons.
      It's common practice and is widely accepted as part of the unspoken rules of the road here in NYC and something that I will continue doing even if they make it illegal. As long time driver whose lived in different states, I don't trust the way most people drive here so I'll keep doing it to increase my chances of making it home to my family.
