Totally agree. When you stop to consider, humans are the most cruel, vindictive and treacherous creatures ever invented or evolved. Proud to state I have been a vega for 25 years and counting! Beautiful birds, thank you.
But their brothers were probably thrown in a grinder the day they hatched because people who have egg layers only want females. For every egglaying hen in the world, a male was murdered for being 'useless'.

I was going to say the same thing. My leghorns are pampered beyond belief and they're much smaller than my buff orphingtons. I think people don't realize that there are many different breeds with different uses.
I also love seeing how kindly your volunteers lifted them from their containers. it just goes to show the care you gave them. Probably in a way they had never experienced before.

Now that i have chickens of my own its amazing to see how they have unique personalities like dogs and I will never buy eggs from caged animals again. I love my chickens so much and they love me back.
This is why I rescue and raise my own hens. They live a happy, free-range lifestyle and most of their eggs are given to our neighbors who have financial issues and have kids to feed.

I think it’s amazing how you have saved all these beautiful chickens. You’re showing people what really goes on behind closed doors and how much kindness and love can affect an animal. I also love how you suggest other ways of helping to stop this unkindness without shaming people or making them feel bad for not being able to donate or go vegan. This should be the way everyone shares the message about caring and saving animals instead of shaming or guilting people into it.
