Presented like an episode of Law & Order (1990), the study group attempts to find out who squashed their biology project: a yam. Troy and Abed become detectives, Shirley is their boss, Jeff and Annie pose as prosecuting attorneys, while Pierce is an informant and Britta a lab tech.

To those who don't know, the botanist/biologist is played by Leslie Hendrix who also played the Medical Examiner Elizabeth Rodgers on Law & Order series (Original, Criminal Intent, SVU, Trial by Jury).
So this is double hilarious to me as a fan of Law & Order franchise.

No matter how many times i hear abed's "walk it off" makes me laugh every time. Troy's rage with spider-man tie is so over the top and abed is so cliche.
I mean Glover WAS the inspiration for Miles Morales (and later voiced Miles), so it's a fun in-joke.

That’s the magic of this show. Whether paintball fights or the floor is lava, the games are played with real stakes like it’s life or death
if i got the chance to be a tv cop i would take it, seems pretty cool
The real mystery of the season was the unanswered question about the Lego? What happened to them? They were so simple...

Fun Fact: in the scene where the biologist is looking at the yam with abed and troy, danny pudi (abeds actor) just got the call from his wife that his twins were about to be born, but the producers just wanted him to quickly finish his scene before he ran to the hospital 😂
Most people rave about Troy and Abed's acting in this scene, but I think Star Burns owns it when he says "Hey, I''m not falling for that..." at 0:52.

They could've just gotten the coroner to talk to their professor and show that the yam was about to bloom, but instead they went through the whole Law and Order routine because they wanted to bring the killer to justice. Amazing.

I’ve watched a lot of law and order and this episode was sooooo good. Dialogue, camera work , and plot progression was like law and order
I love when fa...bulous Neil is moving stacks of papers around an office and talking to Troy and Abed. Such a well done scene, that captures the feel of law and order.
My only issue with this episode was that if they had proof thr yam was going to bloom, they should have just taken that to their professor

She says it was about to bloom but that’s impossible as it is later revealed that Neil boiled the yam which would mean that it wouldn’t be able to bloom
