Forty years ago I couldn't resist derestricting my 28mph 50cc. I don't blame anyone else doing exactly the same.
2 stroke is the way to go, love that 2 stroke shrieking sound.
best geared 50 on the market.
When u hit 17, desrestrict, smaller rear sprocket and tune - it will be like a different bike. not far off the best 125's to 60mph.
cheaper than changing bikes and better the devil u know. keep it tidy and they hold their value brilliantly.
People in Spain like to just derestrict it and slap on the bike a Voca or Yasuni exhaust, can reach about 93 KPH
There are some that get a 70cc, if the carb isn't big enough it gets changed, a setup like that can reach 110 or 140 depending on how you tune it
Beautiful looking little bike. Every kid would derestrict it immediately
When I got my Rieju MRT 2015 (it was stock), I drilled the exhaust pipe and then it went about 75kmh
I’m 58 , rode bikes since I was 13 , when I was around 18 fizzers , ap50s would do around 45 , then bang 30 mph ,,, how safe was that, abit like linked brakes ,, it all stinks the whole system , rules made by arses not senior bikers , hence why I rode a fireblade for yrs before I passed my test , see ya in 3 wks when I pop up from the midlands to see my son who lives around 10 miles from your shop , cheers shane uk 🇬🇧
I agree 100% with you Mark ... The Pen pusher that decided 28mph is an idiot ! ... I would however choose a 50cc Auto scooter over this as the acceleration would be much better (You don't have to change gear every 5-6mph ) & Is generally better/safer at the lights. But this wins on "Cool Factor" & That's all a 16yr old worries about .
To be fair, the engine hasn’t properly worn in yet as it’s a new bike so it isn’t running at its full potential, plus it’s derestricted which doesn’t let the bike rev to its full rpm. Once the engine has worn in and derestricted you won’t have to change gears every 2 seconds and will run quicker and better👍🏼
This keeps up with scooters off the line
The frame of the mrt has been the same since 2009. Up until now, they haven't made any major changes to the looks of the bike. But it's a sturdy frame with a good construction, and is certainly better than anything else on the market. So i don't see why they would replace it. Piaggio, eat your heart out. Am6 bikes has always been superior.
Still don't see why they call it the "LC".
I really like that exhaust tecnigas made for it. Looks like their e-nox series exhausts.
If you're looking for an mrt, buy a 2015 or older. No enviromental euro bullsh*t, no electrical restrictors.
All you have to do is slap on different sprockets, a racing exhaust, and a bigger main jet. You'll be doing 50 mph easily, with quite some power too.
Where could you buy this second hand?
I have just bought my son a new 2022 Rieju MRT 50 pro. What are the steps for derestricing it.
If you didn't took the bike to a mechanic already to do it for you, you need to get an aftermarket derestricted exhaust and ECU, swap them out, remove the restrictor on the air filter which is a plastic cover and change out the carburator main jet for a bigger one, I reccomend using a 105 main jet, then you are done
Nice video! Can you film another trip with this MRT50 with hill climb?
I'll see what I can do.
@@motorsforthemasses thank you :-)
28 mph?! You're safer on a push bike!
It has a type problem, the 2022 model has a particle filter in the exhaust that will get clogged and then it’ll only go 20mph. I sent mine back to a repair shop and now it goes 37mph on a flat road.
Yes, the honey comb in the exhaust bend in vast, they do breath better without that but then you risk decatting it if you take all that out.
@@motorsforthemasses What’s decatting?
I have this same bike in Spain and its all from home, and it goes 49mph on a glat road
At how much km did your bike get clogged?
23 model has the same problem
I’m 16 can I ride this on a cbt?
Yes sir
Thabks
Any 16 year old will be de restricting within the first week of riding
i wish but my dad said im not allowed😂
@@benl2069 rip
Knuckle immobilisers, a deterrent for would be thieves, a bit like those very short gears.
Rieju, yamaha < derbi, aprilia
You got the wrong one, you should've got the MRT pro.
Too expensive for my area
@@motorsforthemasses To be honest they're the same bike just the pro has fancy forks & bigger brakes. I'm glad they're still using the minarelli AM6 & not going 4t that engine can easily be tuned to 30bhp.
@@BenTV73 how
@@robbieking8874 there's a whole plethora of tuning kits, bigger carbs & intake manifolds & exhausts available for the AM6.
Fun fact: you only need to be 14 in hungary to get license for this.
Sorry Yuk!
Pretty little thing ...
to slow lol
2022 yearmodel rieju looks terrible in my opinion
Just get a e-cycle no insurance, safety gear, tax and it's faster.
Not legally it isn't. Legal limit is 15mph, 250w, pedal assisted. The 30mph 1000w ones are not legal
Also e bikes are for girly girls 🤣
