Worst analysis i have ever heard about 8303. Whats wrong engine and sully? You cannot learn start analysing an accident based on natgeo programs and movies like sully.
Such a sad incident, and strange to know the details of this disaster. May Allah have mercy on those who died that day.
Feel sorry for TCM Original. Stopped listening to this idiot when he gave example of Sully. He is as incompetent as the pilot responsible for this debacle

Its hard to keep up with mentour pilot because of the added technical details. I believe this is summarized well for public consumption.
Devil is in the details.
And the journalist is ill informed on the issue. This creates confusions among the masses.
Being as good as mentour pilot is one thing but being ignorant about basics is another.
Sad to see TCM allowing such content on their platform.

Thank you for mentioning the final mistake. The landing gears should have been retracted. Maybe the flaps could have been retracted one notch down to help the plane glide. A BA 777 went through a similar situation with dual engine flame out. However the captain by retracting the flaps was able to glide past a motorway and crashed withing aiport paramater. The plane did not surivive but the crew and passemgers made it.
The very fatal mistake out of all the mistakes that the captain did during that flight was to take off again after the belly landing. The captain was so confused and he took the words of the FO "Sir take off", which clearly was a reaction to the turbulent belly landing and not was an advise. Had the plane continued belly landing, it would've stopped at some point. Obviously it would have damaged the infastructure of the airport and surroundings but most of the passengers could've been alive and rescued by the paramedics. In short, the captain was bossy, arrogant and he was not taking advise by the ATC seriously.

This trgedy is a result of Patwari culture where power and authority is more important than knowledge, SOPs, and rules.
This incident happened because pilot was likely an ex-airforce pilot who applied for civilian pilot position. When rejected he used his military influence to get the role. Also don’t forget PIA chief at that time was some present duty air marshal.
