It goes from being all sad that the baker is gonna die to a 60s hippie rave party in *_seconds_*
It's real interesting when you're the one playing the baker being dragged to their offstage death, let me tell you!
@@kinkanalchemist lol
With no regards for him whatsoever lol
@@TheHManShow haha It would be so fun to have the Baker dancing along...but crying HAHAHA
@@RAEN74 I think it'd be funny if the baker ran around the stage being like "why are you singing?! I'm going to die!!! Show me some damn sympathy!!! ARGGGGGGG!!!!!"
The "GO GO GO JOE" clap/drum breakdown is so amazing
That part when my high school drama club performed it had all my hair and spirit soaring up. It was amazing.
(Grover Cleveland High School in Reseda, CA, 2000 or 2001)
Myself not being interested in drama, I was blown away.
How lucky am I: a boy with no theatrical experience, to perform this in the largest theatre in Western Kentucky
Tom Kurtz same I’m doing it at the dr Philips center in Florida and I’m a girl
@@sydneyw.9541 are you playing Joseph?
I hope it went well!
Hope it went great
Best of luck, if it can be called luck. Have fun!
1:03: Love the harmony here.
I always hear this song in my mother's voice. So much nostalgia
Aww my mother also took as when I was a kid, to see the show. i still associate it with her :) Special memories!
My school play song I need to learn it😅
❤❤
(Narrator)
Joseph's luck was really out
His spirit and his fortune low
Alone he sat, alone he thought
Of happy times he used to know
(First Man)
Hey dreamer, don't be so upset
(Second Man)
Hey Joseph, you're not beaten yet
(Narrator & Ensemble)
Go, go go Joseph you know what they say
Hang on now Joseph you'll make it some day
Don't give up Joseph fight till you drop
We've read the book and you come out on top
(Narrator)
Now into Joseph's prison cell
Were flung two very frightened me
(Baker & Butler)
We don't think that we will ever
See the light of day again
Hey Joseph, help us if you can
We've had dreams that we don't understand
(Narrator & Ensemble)
Both men were servants of Pharaoh the King
Both in the doghouse for doing their thing
(Narrator)
One was a baker, a cook in his prime
One was a butler, the Jeeves of his time
(Joseph)
Tell me of your dreams my friends
And I will tell you what they show
Though I cannot guarantee
To get it right, I'll have a go
(Narrator)
First the butler, trembling took the floor
Nervously he spoke of what he saw
(Butler)
There I was standing in front of a vine
I picked some grapes and I crushed them to wine
I gave some to Pharaoh who drank from ny cup
I tried to interpret but I had to give up
(Joseph)
You will soon be free, my friend
So do not worry any more
The king will let you out of here
You'll buttle as you did before
(Narrator)
Next the baker rose to tell his dream
Hoping it would have a similar theme
(Baker)
There I was standing with baskets of bread
High in the sky I saw birds overhead
Who flew to my baskets and ate every slice
Give me the message, like his would be nice
(Joseph)
Sad to say your dream is not
The kind of dream I'd like to get
Pharaoh has it in for you
Your execution date is set
Don't rely on all I said I saw
It's just that I have not been wrong before
(Ensemble)
Go, go, go Joseph you know what they say
Hang on now Joseph you'll make it some day
Sha la la Joseph you're doing fine
You and your dreamcoat ahead of your time
Go, go, go Joseph you know what they say

This unlocks memories from my childhood theater. So awewome
You know it’s an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical when it goes from sad to happy in 2 seconds
Cats=Gus was a sad song. Then Skimbleshanks comes in and makes it all happy
This=bakers gonna die then suddenly hippie rave
I've been 20% more suicidal after watching the new Cats movie
Is there an example of that in Phantom?
My favorite song from the musical. Easy
Yas so my school did this musical and I love it I can't get it out my head!
now, i don't like musicals in the slightest
but i was shown this as a kid for some reason and it's been stuck in my head as a repressed memory for years now and i've always questioned if i had just made it up in a dream or something
but after all these years i've finally found it
i can die happily now
nicee
Best 😅
The best song in the musical, by far!

Hi all the homeschool people! This is Drew!
I remember my friend invited me to see this play with him 5 months ago. Idk if it's because my name is in the play or it's because there is a rainbow on the title

I'm doing this at my school next week! Wish me luck!
rainxflower no. (jk good luck from 11 months ago)
the last thing kars hears
YES
why'd they leave the whole entire verse: "The prison walls were wet and black / His chains were heavy - weighed him down / A candle was his only light he hungry rats the only sound. Don’t give up Joseph wait and you’ll see / We’ve been outside and you’re on the marquee" - were these lyrics added into a later updated version of the musical or something? Otherwise this is a very good recording :)
I haven't heard those lines
The musical was first written in 1972, the movie in 1999...I would guess that verse was written for the movie
That wasn't in the version my troupe did
"The prison walls were wet and black / His chains were heavy - weighed him down / A candle was his only light / The hungry rats the only sound" was in the 1972 version.
Hail all those who are named Joseph 😂😂
Hahah yeah
If i was the pharoh and the baker tells me about the bread i tell him cheer up it wasnt your fault you can bake another batch
SNL?
I thank Jonah Hill for introducing me to whatever this musical is.
I legit hollered when jonah hill pulled this one out
I actually Googled what Jonah Hill was saying because I didn't know what song he was singing. I've heard of this show and I'm familiar with the story, but I've never heard the musical. Definitely worth searching it up.
