I know my friend thats one of the main annoyances for drivers with a roof box is the whistling noise that occurs when travelling at high speeds. This whistling is caused by gaps between the bars and base. & this style roof box must have at least 165lbs of different things put into it, to prevent excessive sound being made from the wind. Also it will be absolutely fine if you went higher speeds then directed. And your absolutely correct the sound is very disturbing. But don't hesitate if your debating on whether you would like to buy one. Because in my opinion you will absolutely love it my dear friend.
