The difference with crowds in Ireland/DFI (from what I cn tell) is the majority are there for the banter and the day out, as opposed to being concious hiphop fans who are hungry to hear the content (just seems like few are listening to the emcees, just waiting for the boisterous punches).
The kids pay in and buy CD's which is what makes battles like this happen. Who cares what it looks like the youtube heads pay nothing. Long as their parents accompany them who cares they'd probably watch this at home anyway. Decent battle lads. Nice to see people make such an effort with the freestyling.
if DFI wants to get to the level of other leagues they need to cut out all the toddlers coming, and also make everyone shut the fuck up and watch the battle but in terms of talent we have so many dope battlers Redzer, Nash, Nugget, Bony, Rawsoul... just needs to be cleaned up a bit
That's not a criticism, just an honest observation of the crowd; again, I am not saying that is necessarily a negative or a dig at the minors, just the way it is. The scene will grow as long as a core group stay focused on doing just that, building the battle scene, and not viewing it solely as some kind of stepping stone to bigger things

Here lads, Nugget is right, how many people here complaining about the age allowance actually went to the battles? Their parents gave them permission to go, so its not up to DFI if their parents had no problem with it. Lets just focus on the battle ya? At least theres a fucking crowd like.
Having no people there would look worse though. I spoke to the lads on the day they just look younger. People are entitled to criticise of course. Same way im entitled to say im more concerned with people who show up and support
Ive never been to a battle and i defo wont be going when its a kid fest,i have gone to a few ihh gigs tho and i wouldnt of gone to them if there was a load of 10 yr olds at them. Good luck with it tho! IMO your supposed to be building a scene so get a smaller venue and have a proper crowd.

We had smaller venues. They were too packed. There wasn't one ten year old at the event. As the lads themselves said theyre 14/15. If ya havent come to one of the 9 events were not gonna turn away the people who have to cater anyone. Were not building a scene. The scene is never gonna get any bigger cos people dont bother to come they just stay home and watch youtube
The videos are on youtube to be viewed so dont give out about people staying home and watching them, that is what you want, no? Im not critising DFI in general. The battles are entertaining and funny. I get a kick out of watching them. I was just making an observation which was, having a load of kids there looks stupid and if your honest you will admit that. P.s none of them are even close to 14/15. If they are they need get some nutrition.
DFI will never be at the level of the other leagues. Too small a country with too small a hiphop scene. Why should we stop the kids coming? Cos the people on youtube who dont come to events think its a bad look? If we cut out under 16's or under 18's half the crowd wouldn't be there.
