JDAD | Big BMX Haro DMC Master 26 | First Ride at Skatepark

Was holding off on buying this bike until I saw ‪@thedirtheadshed‬ video and review. Got inspired and pulled the trigger on my first Big BMX purchase. Got this Haro DMC Master 26 from City Grounds Clearance Sale for 50% off at $360 + tax & shipping. Great opportunity to get a bike of this quality and with sealed components for this price.
Got it to cruise around the neighborhood as part of my cardiac rehabilitation, but on the inaugural ride, ended up at Sunnyvale Skatepark and then rode the big bowl on a bicycle for the first time at the age of 53.
May post a full review down the line after riding for a while, but here is my quick review. For a middle aged dad riding it for the purpose of having fun and cruising around the neighborhood, this is a very nice quality RTR bicycle. It looks good, has the iconic twin top tube frame, and has decent parts for this price point. It is very comfortable and fast for a single speed bike without having to pedal hard like a fixie.
Having this bike in my garage also softens a hard corner in my life of being able to own a quality BMX bike brand from the 80s such as a Haro. I didn't have the ability to buy one of the iconic 80s brands such as Haro, SE/PK Ripper, Mongoose, Hutch, Redline, etc. The bike I rode as a kid was Huffy and Murray straight out of the catalog of BEST or Service Merchandise.
