- Sharing my PR times (personal records) for all distances in this running vlog. We start off today's running vlog with some cinematic aerial shots of downtown Denver Colorado. The running was good today, as I said on Strava, I'm getting ready to get ready, meaning....you have to prime the pump before you can fire the engine. I'm simply firing the muscles a little bit this week to wake them up after a two week hiatus over the Chrismas break. The legs feel great, no injuries, and I'm ready to get into this next training block with patience and vigor moving forward. I must mention that the Nike Vomero 14s blew my doors off, I LOVE THIS SHOE! This shoe simply gives you a bear hug feel, and I'm confident will be a true work horse in 2019. Okay, enough talking, let's here all of your personal records from 800 meters all the way to the marathon, and well beyond. Don't be shy, we're here to encourage and inspire each other.

I am 43 and the 5k and less distances were set when I was 17 years old. My current Marathon PR is 3:08 (set in my 40s), this year I am pushing to set a new marathon goal.
Sean S Me too. The goal is sub-3 at Boston!
i didn't start running till i was 55, Marathon PR so far 3:06:05 (57 years old)...... see you in Boston April!
Running Guru Wow, that is amazing! To run 3:06 at any age with just 2 years training is impressive! Did you do other sports when you were younger to build your aerobic base or are you just naturally gifted?
I was hopeless at all the sports in School, College and University...... so does that make me naturally gifted? ;-) ....funnily enough, my VLOG of todays talks about where i came from to get to where i am now. The first assumption is i was always slim, then always fit, then always fast.
PR: oh boy, ok mitigation first: I’m 51 and only been running for two years after a 25 year break! 10K: 58 mins ( was soooo happy to break 1hr). Half: 2:18 (ran last 7k with a torn calf muscle!). Definitely room for improvement - hopefully. As you say Seth, I run for myself, to be the best I can be, rather than compare with others (good job looking at all the fast kids on here!!)
Amazing how similar your situation is to mine. I, too, am 51, and took nearly 25 years off - though stayed somewhat active. It's been a wake up over the last couple of years: 10K: 51 mins, half (trail run), 2:03. I ran a 37 min 10K in my early 20s (with very little training). Injury management has been the biggest issue. It's all fun though!
Good luck for this year!

I really enjoy your videos! I never did a lot of running but with 1 time a week of training I ran 34:50 on the 10k last year. At the moment I'm increasing the amount of running kilometers and the videos you create really help motivating me. People always say that I have potential so in the upcoming months I hope to make a good amount of progression!

Very swift over a range of distances !! Well done 😃👍👍
Seth James DeMoor my endurance needs a lot of work lol! But that’s a steady improvement lol. Gotta focus on speed while I’m young enough lol.
Never raced a 5 or 10K distance? That's pretty interesting (and rare) if you haven't.

Wow your 5k is better than the one of my teammates who ran a 29:something in the 5k good job, but I hope my teammates tries to do better next year
You seem like a I really awesome guy and hate to see you put yourself down by thinking that you are slow. Stay positive and don't compare yourself to others. Run for you and no one else. Please no excuses about being slow. What you consider slow is unbelievably fast to others. I have a buddy that I run with and he has never broken 30 minutes in a 5K but I have never once considered him slow. He definitely doesn't think he is slow. He runs because he loves it.
thanks for that@@joeculligan8937, I appreciate your comment!

Seth,
Found your channel a few months ago and it has been invaluable to my running journey so far! I just started seriously running last year when I turned 30 and have been trying to soak up as much info to better myself as possible. You've been a great help in that and I just wanted to thank you! My current PRs are 5k - 21:00 15k - 1:11 Half - 1:39. My current goal is to go sub 20min in the 5k by 2020 and to run my first marathon this year! Keep up the videos, I'll be watching!

I'm grateful for the local running group members who, about 3 years ago now, got me interested in trying to race at all. I started running 8 years ago, with two goals: loose some weight and increase my fitness level. At the time, I couldn't run an 800 without walking. I remember the first time that I did a 4 mile run without walking and really feeling a sense of accomplishment. Even now, my favorite things about running are just being outside & enjoying the beauty of creation. Racing has become more fun since I've started putting some effort out, but I still love the country road run with no watch, no phone and just the quiet more than anything else!
FAST MATT!!!! Nice work.

Half marathon - 1:29:30
I haven’t ran the marathon yet.
I also recently have been fixing my form as I was severely overstriding in the past and since changing my form all of my workouts have been much faster and have felt much better
Great work Dawson!
Seth James DeMoor thanks Seth! I look up to you and hopefully one day I can be as good as you
Not only focus on form, but focus on consistency. Most high schoolers don’t run on weekends. Your Sunday long run is the most important.
Mile: 4:20 (sophomore year of HS)
2 mile: 9:30( sophomore year of HS)
800: 1:58 (sophomore year of HS)
400: 51 (sophomore year of HS)
5k: 15:45 (Senior year of HS)
I really lost my motivation after sophomore year of HS because of all the pressure on me. It was only my 2nd year running and everyone expected me to do great things, but I didn’t love to run the way I loved to play soccer or tennis. I gave up training after my sophomore year, but picked it back up for my senior year. I’m currently running in college, but I’m still in a rut.Hopefully I can find back that motivation and wreck my High School PRs

PR. Love that city--beautiful!! Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed, are great times for me regarding the live feeds. I like the 7:00 time(9:00 est). Warmer & rainier winter than usual here. God bless.
My PRS in high school, ran one-year track, 2 years cross country 800 2:10, mile 4:29 I had shin splints really bad that year. 5k 15:58, 10K 31:00, half 1: 08 in 97. I gave up running and raced mountain bikes after that, and I wish I never did, I could have done both. So I wasted a lot of years with out running. Seth those are unbelievable times that you had, you are a machine. I trained with the cross country team the second year but I did not count or race because I was receiving money when I was racing bike so the school would not let me race.
800: 3:03 (a couple of years ago ). 1600: 6:46(in a 2k race not long ago ) 5000: 23:35 ( lots of hills in it a couple of weeks ago). Never done any higher distance race because I’m only 10 years old
I find it so funny that so many of us have some kind of story for a PR that suggests our personal record isn’t our personal best, if that makes sense. Just funny in my opinion, I do it too
PR. 6 months after discovering running (35 years old) and 1 1/2 years after picking up rock climbing. No regular exercise at all before that. Excited to see how much further I can improve. It is like slowly unlocking abilities that I never knew my body had.

As a chap in England I always enter the London Marathon for the 1 in a million chance I get picked.
I would say my city of Nottingham, but they cancelled the full marathon last year due to people complaining that the route was boring!

QOD: I start to run more often 4 years ago, just to be on shape, since it helped me on football wich i love to play. I started to enjoy so much that i inscribed myself to a 16km run, with almost no preparation. After that i've started to train more wisely and inscribed myself to half marathons and then the marathon. All my Personnal Records had been updated this year. I only had raced 2 Marathons, both in Oporto, 4 Half marathons and 3 10K Races, i think theres alot more to evolve, i will try work hard to improve myself.

Watching from the UK, so I'll be staying up late to watch the streams, Monday works well. Quite a mixed bag of PBs: 400m: 61s, 800m: 2:13😂, 1500m 4:35, 3000m 9:59 (only did one), 5K 17:05 (at a Parkrun), 8K/5 Miles 28:24, 10K 35:24, and did one Half Marathon on muddy trails: 1:26:18.
I'm 18, I ran these within the last 2 years. The 800m being the longest time ago.

Stopped running after high school for 20+ years then started again in 2015 after turning 40 to get back into shape. After losing 50 lbs and getting back to my high school weight I gave my first try at a marathon.
Congrats Clay, congrats! These are great times
Thanks, Seth. Enjoying your channel a lot and we have a lot in common from body build size to college running. Unfortunately, mine wasn’t as successful as yours with me dropping off the team in the first month. That is a big regret I have and wish I would have stuck it out. I have big plans for 2019 with my goals since 2018 didn’t end on a high note. Building the base to get prepared for a sub 2:50 marathon with gold curve of a sub 2:40. Feel like I still have some good and fast miles left in these legs.
800: 2:46 (24 years old)

Great job! What’s the marathon?
Marine Corps Marathon in DC
45 now. I ran 3 years during high school and then quit running after college XC :-(. I think I've always had more medium and fast twitch muscle fibers because I have never been that successful at distances longer than a mile. Anyway here goes: 400 - 50.2 (17), 800 - 1:58.1 (17), 1600 - 4:21.2 (16), 5K XC - 16:20 (17), 10K 41:xx (37), Half: 1:34 (only ever ran 1 @ 37). Struggling now to get back below 19 in the 5k - so sad. Trying to build up my mileage (carefully) to see if that helps since i've never been able to get above 30 miles/wk for more than a 2-3 weeks before I get injured. Fascinating to see folks like yourself do limited speed work and have all their times drop off just aerobic base training.

Although I didn't watch live, I really liked the Q&A!!
Saturdays are best for me and btw I loved your drone footage of Denver
Grandma's was where I ran 2:23 two years in a row. Great course! 4:17 mile at Drake Relays, 8:32 3k indoor Iowa state, 15 flat 5k, south Dakota track, 30:50 10k MN Road Race, 9:11 Steeplechase at a California college track meet, 1:08 Half Marathon New Prague MN, 9:13 2 mile.

For the livestream any day would be okay but I’d prefer 7 to 6 if it’s on Monday.

Trained for a sub two half this fall but didn’t end up racing. Expecting to see these times drop this year and I’m looking forward to an instant PR in the marathon.
Absolutely, and I haven't forgotten about your questions. THanks for your patience. Those times will definitely come down.
Congrats on 7K, Seth!
Thank you for helping us get here Toby!

Dang thats a really good range. Id like to work on my mile and 800 speed by doing some more shorter distance sprints. Good for you!
@@Juniperskeleton you can do it! i went from not being able to run a 3k to completing a 30k long run. If you really want it, you'll get it! good luck!
Just curious as to why you switched to distance with those great pr’s in the 100 and the 200. I bet you enjoy Distance more
@@iandickenson7186 i just find long distance to be more enjoyable. getting to travel to different places for races is not the same as races on the track.
Why would you move to longer distances? Your long distance PRs are OK, but your sprint times would probably qualify you for some big competitions

1K: 4:56
Mile: 8:20
5K: 33:39 (hit this during a practice run, never did a serious benchmark run or race)
10: 1:34:26 (Really this is my only 10K time so far, I did this three weeks after I ran my first 5K, having NEVER ran more than a mile previously. Got super exhausted but really high after this race - it got me running b/c I enjoy it, not b/c I had to do it to graduate or things like that).
Looking at other folks' times here I know I'm definitely on the slower side, but I grew up being overweight and sucked at PE. All the way towards the end of middle school I couldn't imagine running 400 without stopping. Freshman year, ran my first mile. PB went down from 13.5-ish minutes to 9:24. Lost momentum in sophmore year - he sadly left and the new PE teacher was too lenient on us. Regained momentum and coached myself to an 8:20 mile in junior year.
P.S. any hopes I can hit 26 flat 5K towards the end of October? If so, I'd welcome all of your suggestions on how I could work to get there :)
You could do shorter fast intervals e.g. 200m fast 200m slow.
I'm only 13 but I am a 19 min 5k runner
Always inspiring to hear about your journey
Sunday night for me. I have school at 0830 until 2000.
My PRs are 22:xx for the 5k. I ran it the last day of basic training in 2013 and haven't run one since due to injuries and surgeries and my focus was on Olympic lifting. The only other PR I have is the 1.5 mile at 9:59 a month after basic training.
My wife and I are running a 5k February 6 in downtown Phoenix so we will see what happens!

Yes sir! Did my first 100 this past August. Strained my left calf around mile 52. Stopping was not an option, so I mostly walked the last half of the race. Sidelined for about a month afterwards due to the injury, but totally worth it. I’m back on marathon training now. I’ll revisit the 100 at some point down the line.
