    His message is to focus on something, stare at it for a while. Start with one-minute he says, and then build it up. You could do 10-mins, 15-mins, 30-mins, whatever you can manage. By focusing on something it stops you thinking, and quietens your emotional centre (the amygdala). He is really talking about meditation. Meditate and you will reconnect your mind with your body, and that will allow you to tune into your intuition. You only need to do it for a short time in a day. Your intuition will help you to make healthy choices over unhealthy choices. Example, sleeping when you need to sleep, as opposed to staying up too late. Slowing down in your life and taking some time out for you to just be, rather than being busy and doing all of the time. Your quality of life will improve and you will be healthier.

    This is my biggest struggle right now. I know it came from my childhood. I am in fight or flight mode even when I’m just talking to someone or walking constantly analyzing what I’m doing wrong and my hearts pounding 70 percent of the day. Joe Dispenza seems to have a great formula for change so I’m doing that… I hope I can conquer this in my life! We got this!

      Also try "bilateral music" here on RUclips (not binaural). It helps to think of the trauma while listening. It's EMDR with hearing instead of sight.

    All he really said is it's worth it to change for the better, and make small changes so it doesn't challenge the negative voice in your head (metaphorically represented here by the amygdala).
    There was really no useful info about the amygdala or anything. Just: "try to be your best self".

    Got all the way to the end and still don't know how to trick (or tickle) my amygdala. Was he saying to basically meditate?

  • @lawrencegroves8307
    @lawrencegroves8307 5 лет назад +18

    @Luis Viveros
    Correct. Triggering an emotional response in the amygdala will activate implicit or explicit memories. An example to do this could be taking a math test and becoming overwhelmed by the possible answers and as a result your palms begin to sweat. When you see that math test again it will trigger you explicit memory. One could take a copy of the test home and practice to become better and then have some friends verbally quiz you for additional support. Finally, when you take the math test again and know all the answers without having to recall the formulas this would be your implicit memory at work.

I've analyzed the audio thoroughly with highly sophisticated software, and there really is only him speaking throughout the entire video. Do you ever hear the voices when you are not watching videos? Perhaps while trying to sleep?

    The message makes sense....I just wish he'd remove the information about BMI because that way of assessing the health/fitness of the body is the MOST inaccurate. Bio-impedance and dunk tank assessments are accurate. BMI doesn't take into account any amount of muscle mass. All of my athletic clients have been deemed Obese on the BMI "scale" due to their healthy muscle. If you aim to have a low number on the BMI chart, you may as well lose as much muscle as you possibly can.....

    "Slow down and don't stress it", summed up in the Hawaiian "Shaka!'", "Hang loose!'.
    The amygdala is fear, a lot of our neurotic, self-destructive behaviour is to dissipate nervousness. He is saying that if you start treating the cause, even in the smallest ways - i.e., through meditation, yoga, light exercise - then you will not need to treat the symptom - i.e., through smoking, drinking, pharmaceutical, etc. If you don't do this, chances are that you will die young.
    Nothing new here. Boring, not well-structured lecture. He has a nervous posture and voice.
