Did you know Leo Fender would not allow flamed maple to be used on production guitars, BECAUSE it tends to warp and twist far more than straight grain maple? I found this out when using an old maple gym floor to put the floor into a studio control room. I wanted one part to be special and so searched the pile of old boards for the flameyingest(?), and found they were also the ones too warped to nail down and use. I also built my first arch-top acoustic guitar with a super flame grain neck piece of maple, and even tho' I used a 'Bridgeport' milling machine to make the neck super straight - since 1993 it has warped back and forth each season and is usually only playable in the fall and spring, between the wet and dry seasons here in the frozen North.
Those Fenders are all great! I don't dig that finish on the Mayer signature, but I had one of the original ones in sunburst, if that one has the big dipper pickups it's quite desirable. I really dig the orange Strat and the surf green Tele, being a Fender guy those are keepers!
Looking forward to your review of that Pro Deluxe. Had no idea there were non-Custom black Pauls with P90s and ebony boards. (Rosewood on black is an aesthetic dealbreaker for me 😄)
Yes I had a vintage 65 Casio that never went out of tune!!! It was outstanding with a perfect sunburst that I stripped!!! I also had the One Off Les Paul Custom that Diablo Guitars has that you mocked for having so many knob, but sound outstanding and give endless combos (save coil tap). Best Always, C. L. Zinn II P.S. The guitar was inspired by Steve Howe's custom 3 pickup 175 as we were friends for over 20yrs.
That is a pretty cool collection! Regarding SG necks: if you recall the "Dorito Burst" SG ( I picked it up), that guitar has a very rounded C-shaped neck that feels thicker than my '59 custom shop re-issue LP.
I'm a huge Beatles fan, but only a beginner at playing guitar. I take that back. I learned to play on an acoustic guitar when I was young, but never kept going. That Epiphone Casino is my dream guitar. I know it costs a fortune, right? Love your channel, by the way.
I must have missed this one. I actually quite like that first Gibson. 2:09 that black with cream P90s ? Noice !! Not a tele fan despite a lot of my “heroes” playing them. The only Tele id consider buying would be the Solar Guitars version. T1.6 and then figure out what style colour etc. the two strats are nice. Id buy those. 5 springs in the gold one ? Interesting. The SG is nice but not for me. Wow 8:34 that’s beautiful. 9:45 that Epi is nice. Cheers from NZ 😎🎸🤘
The John Mayer Fender strats all came like that; no holes drilled for a backplate. Plus the five springs to fix the bridge. He did this based on what Clapton did with his guitars.
Those guitars are all pretty cool.I especially like the fretboard on the John Mayer signature guitar. The color of that cherry SG reminds me of an Epiphone Elitist EB3 that was my main gigging bass for 2-3 years.
Those are some beautiful Fenders. I had an Elite Strat in that metallic orange without the matching headstock of course and I let it go. I'm still kicking myself. Such an awesome color, and the fretboard looks great! Not a fan of the wood and wallet gouging ala relic job but it still looks really good. The tele is really sharp as well. Looking forward to the breakdown. That midtown is really nice. Better than the blue for sure.😊
That orange Strat is gorgeous! Not sure about the Tele though. The CoA says it’s a 63 reissue, but surely Fender wasn’t making guitars with male boards in 63?
I love that Black Pro with P 90s. I recognized the John Mayer signature when you opened the case . I just couldn't remember whose signature model it was till you showed us. That color seems to be what a lot of auto manufacturers are painting their cars these days. Thst lady must be getting a hefty check if she can budget a guitar a month. I may be looking to get a Crestwood in the future once im done paying for the Greenburst Studio.
I’ve been watching your videos for awhile now and I credit you to bringing me out of my bias for Fender over Gibson. You’ve got so much knowledge that you can’t help but have your prejudices altered by how extensive your presentations are. It’s super nice to see that you don’t limit that knowledge to one brand or make of guitar - I don’t know why I’ve known so many guitar players that seem to be team fender or team Gibson, but I think it’s a result of the 1980s shredder decadence. I only wish I had the cash to spend on a Gibson Les Paul. Maybe in my next life.
I'll be very interested in what yo can find out about the SG because it looks just like mine, and I always thought it was strange to have the "Les Paul" on the truss rod cover. I bought it used from a store in Denver and I live about 20 miles from Wildwood, so maybe that's what I have. Like you, I don't know what makes it special...
Guitar 5 I believe is a John Mayer guitar cuz I've seen him use 1 similar to that I'm not sure if the stripe on his was on top or bottom & if it was black or brown cuz in some of the pictures I've seen it looks black & body looks a bit more greyish in color than that 1 you have
Fender never continuing the striping around the back is so annoying to me for some reason. It put me off from getting a Competition Stripe Mustang bass.
Used market would be too rough. If I don't think I'd be able to get out of the guitar within a reasonable amount of time, I can't do it without a NGD sponsor. They made too many of those in my opinion and besides the board, isn't much that makes them special as compared to other MUCH cheaper brazilian runs
That John Mayer Strat was part of the initial launch in 2005. I think they numbered in the ballpark of 1000-3000 and the finishes were based on Custom Shop Strats he was using on tour. There’s also a Charcoal Frost-Inca Silver one that’s pretty cool.
I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek! Which should I review first?

Austin, I'm messaging you about one of these.
The orange strat
How about a review and documentation of the Theodore Standard?
P-90 Les Paul then Orange Strat

Congrats JoAnn, your new Midtown is beautiful. 👍😉
Congratulations Jo Ann. Very nice guitar.
Candy Tangerine Strat looks killer!
I can't wait to see you review the new epiphone inspired by gibson custom shop guitars
Those look so awesome. I just bought a brand new guitar but I'm thinking about getting one...
At this time, I only have the 3 pup sg review planned. People are welcome to NGD the others though
@@Trogaw cmooon
It’s a brand new release with the Gibson headstock, pickups and wiring. You got to review the new Epiphone les paul custom ($1299) pronto!!!!
@@rascalious Plus the new Epi R9 also has an actual Gibson ABR 1 bridge with a Gibson stop bar.
That guy has very good taste in guitars. The tan strat with racing stripes is nice!!!
This guy has great taste. That p90 tuxedo Pauly was speaking to me
That Ebony Fretboard looked beautiful!!
That 1995 Classic looks stunning! 😮❤

JoAnne..you my dear purchased one stunning midtown! Enjoy...

The very first guitar… the Les Paul Classic… is one beautiful guitar! It’s hands down the best out of the lot in my opinion. Sweet!
Shout out to Joanne! I hope to make it to "monthly guitar budget" age!
And monthly guitar budget planning
JoAnn that guitar is beautiful! Congratulations
A 95 CS Les Paul Classic . What a strange era !
Welcome Joann.
That first Les Paul is lovely.
That guy sent you some nice guitars. Side note: the Phil McKnight shout out was cool; he’s the best.
That is a pretty cool collection! Regarding SG necks: if you recall the "Dorito Burst" SG ( I picked it up), that guitar has a very rounded C-shaped neck that feels thicker than my '59 custom shop re-issue LP.
5:02 That Stratocaster looks nice! Just enough flame on the neck!
I'm a huge Beatles fan, but only a beginner at playing guitar. I take that back. I learned to play on an acoustic guitar when I was young, but never kept going. That Epiphone Casino is my dream guitar. I know it costs a fortune, right? Love your channel, by the way.
Maybe a review of the John Lennon double cut Jr with the Charlie Christian p/u in the neck position. Very rare I don't think I've ever seen one demoed
I must have missed this one.

I pick the ebony Classic Pro. That was nice.
Great eye candy 👁 🍬 show tonight Austin.🎸👍.....my favourite one was the surf green tele.
Yeah Trogly… we need a review of the new “Lifeson” 355 Epiphone. Essentially a custom shop epi. I need to see it!
Whoa! That P90 lp and the orange reliced strat are awesome.
Competition Racing strip on the John Mayer Strat , not in its usual placement
The Les Paul Pro Deluxe has me drooling , love the Cream P-90s on the Ebony ( Tuxedo ) !...Thanks Trogly !
That orange Strat is gorgeous! Not sure about the Tele though. The CoA says it’s a 63 reissue, but surely Fender wasn’t making guitars with male boards in 63?

We need an interview with Joanne.
There was a Bobby's Music store on Broadway in Denver Colorado some years ago. The sticker on the back of that black Les Paul looked kinda faded.
Bella/Linda.🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🎉👑
Excited to see the JM review!
trogly you should do a heritage guitar just to see the differences
Trogly and Philip were the first two guitar channels I ever found too.
The green Tele is a compound radius.
really nice 6 guitars, not fond of telecasters but those are nice for teles
I guess I'm a Fender guy at heart, but my FAVORITE in this collection is the SG!!
Most Fender Custom Shop guitars are finished in Nitro.

Let’s see the Strat or the Tele up first
That Wildwood SG is their exclusive custom shop gloss cherry red finish. It’s not VOS. They sell the gloss finish in a 1961 and a 1964 model.
Can't wait to see a video with that SG 🤘🤘 that thing looks nasty
I'll be very interested in what yo can find out about the SG because it looks just like mine, and I always thought it was strange to have the "Les Paul" on the truss rod cover. Was that 5 string Mayer Strat tuned to open G a la Keef?
That black deluxe is sweet
That SG is nice.

That epiphone is dooooope
Would like to see a JayDee SG Old Boy one of these days, they are kind of Gibson adjacent...
That surf green Tele looks like a Baja Tele judging by the S1 switch.
that 77 les paul is soooo nice!
That green telecaster looks exactly like my 1960s fender player telecaster limited edition seafoam green. Hahaha
I'll bet that SG will have some serious neck dive.
trogly, have ytou ever seen the zebra wood firebird? my dad has one as well as an e2 explorer, do you have any info on these?
The zebra birds were part of the Guitar of the Week series
Fender never continuing the striping around the back is so annoying to me for some reason. It put me off from getting a Competition Stripe Mustang bass.
Nice collection of guitars 🎸🎸👍👏👏💵💲💸💲💵💲💸💲💲💲
Trogly: Any reason you have not dont a video on the recent Les Paul Brazilian rosewood limited Murphy labs run?

Z is for 3 hours late. Wow, that SG is awesome.
Wildwood SG's more saturated color, and more highly figured mahogony if memory serves.
Evening all!!!
I had an American Deluxe in that Candy Tangerine color. It was fun, but not my cup of tea.
That orange strat really speaks to me...but the price that carries is probably way more than I can afford lol
to the buyer who got the namm show sg: you have exquisite taste in guitars
👍
Ooh man ,i love those SG's, i dont like fenders, i played them and there not my piece of cake, i call them firestarters.😂
Kinda silly one a 7 out of ten, but another is relic. The professional beat up guitar is probably worth more than one that has some dings lol.
I ❤️ guitars…
I want that orange fender. Is it a million bucks!?
I doubt my eventual social security check will be enough to get a $3k Gibson.
All those years as a case queen, and that first guitar still got scratched up anyway 😔
Will the classic go on sale?
P 90's ,👍
5:36 now you see it .. 6:02 now you don't. ;)

"Dusty brown"? That's Shoreline Gold.
Bloody Gibson junkies.
Gibson love making poopy brown guitars
