Marsha Ambrosius shares cover version of Teena Marie's 'Yes Indeed' in London

- Last night Marsha Ambrosius headlined an intimate show at North London venue Dingwalls and exclusively previewed her stunning cover version of late great soul legend Teena Marie's 'Yes Indeed', from Lady T's final Motown album It Must Be Magic (1981).
"Yes Indeed", was cited as a personal favorite by Teena Marie who gave Ms Ambrosius her personal seal of approval on the cover.
I’m not usually a huge fan of renditions of my absolute FAVORITE SONG by my favorite singer of all time Teena Marie... but Marsha really did Yes Indeed justice!!! I really loved this rendition ❤️

Marsha did Teena Marie proud! Learning of Marsha's cover of this song is one bit of good news coming now. Marsha is one of the few who has both the voice and soul to do Teena. I'm going to check out her album.

Did this ever get released? I can’t find it anywhere. Deserves a much wider audience. Incredible vocal on a brilliant spin of a stone cold classic: it adds just enough to make it true to the original without sounding like a rip off. So hard to achieve and yet absolutely nailed.

Miss Marsha definitely is the person to cover this song. I love the Teena Marie version of course, but Marsha can do wonders in the studio with this track. Wouldn’t replace Teenas version, but definitely will enjoy both - oh goodness Then I heard the second verse with the background vocals added as well, good lord. Is there a studio version of this song ?

She is not even singing. Those of you who are listening to this don't even know what real singing. is and you can't even see. She is not singing. This is pre recorded. She is just moving her head back and forth. At some point she is no longer even moving her mouth. She is just sitting there doing nothing. At some point she turns up the recorder and then at the end she turns if off. Did she announce that this was pre recorded? Why bring a pre recorded tape to a live concert?
Real singers don't pre record. Teena never pre recorded her songs for a LIVE concert. Why would she...when she actually knew how to sing. I seen Teena's first concert with Rick James and I also saw her last concert with Rick James and the The Time. There is absolutely nothing you can tell me about singing. You don't have a clue.

I like Marsha, but she's not singing this. When she does sing, she's singing over Teena's original.
Started out great but kinda bogged down towards the end. The original track is so amazing it’s really a poor choice to cover. Teena has the power AND delicacy to finesse every drop out of this song. Hearing ur voice fail during the challenging parts was a bit of a let down. You seem like a great talent though. I bet u would KILL an Alicia Keys track!!!
