Thanks for uploading this video. Personally I have less than zero interest in European fashion clothes and the rich pricks that market and wear it.
But a nice song (I'll assume she's singing live, to a backing track). But what really interests me is not just this highly polished, edited, final production, but, what if this was a DVD, would be on the "behind the scenes extras".
Given that "bird-swing" rises to quite some height, I was very glad to see she has a safety harness. Did a technician run out from the audience and connect it, while the video view was elsewhere, as the models entered the arena maybe?
Given the performance as a whole, I'm sure there were some rehearsals with the singer and the models beforehand. Altogether an entertaining event. Good work on all who performed including the technicians etc behind the scenes.

I did my best to get the backstory. She was in Memphis, TN when she got the call asking if she would close the Chanel show & what all that would entail. (Her Mother Lisa loved their things & after her death, I saw that Riley was an ambassador for them). She accepted. Actually, her exact words after hearing what was expected of her were, “Why would I say no to that?” Lol. She stopped by CA to record the track, then on to Paris. She then had just a couple of days to rehearse with the models.
I have seen parts of the BTS & posted the stills. But, will be on the lookout for more video footage. (If that is released). I only found a very short clip & it did sound like she was singing live to the track, as you said. They did make it sound more “professional/manufactured” for this final video bc it’s much louder & more clear.
I thought it was nicely done. I’ve always loved Elvis, Lisa Marie AND Prince. So, when I first heard “When Doves Cry” come on, I was hooked. Then, she began singing & my jaw dropped to the floor. I watched initially only bc it was Riley. Then, the rest was just icing on the cake for me! Absolutely awesome!♥️
I know Prince had not liked anyone covering his songs. I wonder what he would have thought of her performance? Or if he would’ve allowed it at all? I’m guessing not, but I’m sure those in control of his estate were thrilled to get that call. I’m sure it cost a pretty penny to use, but Chanel can no doubt afford it, given their prices! I liked that she didn’t try to copy his exact, unique sound. Bc no one would succeed in that. She put her own spin on it.
I’m similar to you, in that I never watch Paris Fashion Week. But, I’m a lover of handbags & wallets and have always wanted a Chanel bag, not gonna lie! And yes, when I find the right one, I’ll gladly settle for a quality knockoff! 😂 I’m not too good. At all! 😅 But, haven’t found the right one yet. So, if anyone knows of where that dream bag of mine exists, please let me know. 🙃
And I had wondered the same on the safety harness. We can see her doing something with it after she is seated. I’d assumed that she fastened it herself. But, you made a good point about how someone could have clamped it for her while they were showing the models walking out. I’m not sure.

@@Elvis.Aron.Presley.35.77 Yes I think that she could easily have fastened the safety clip herself. But I know in some countries now "safety" is ridiculously strictly regulated. I know even people that install builder's scaffolding need special licences nowadays and wondered if some officially approved person had to run over and check her harness !
I didn't see her dealing with the harness at all, but perhaps your tv/computer screen is a bit newer and better than mine ! I don't see a waist-belt on her as such, so I think the bodice must have had a special reinforced attachment point. (Yeah I'm a geek for technical details sometimes LOL).
I didn't even know this was necessarily a "Prince" song, as I'd never especially followed his music, just heard some on the radio or tv at times in the past. Some I liked, some I didn't. I think he's gone now but don't recall ever hearing of his passing, or a cause why. I'm old enough to remember the news of Elvis dying, but only just. Michael Jackson, whether or not one liked him personally, was also a fine singer, needlessly lost to us much too soon, due to a range of circumstances that should never have occurred.
I know I've heard the song before, I think it was on the radio and tv a lot back when that modern Romeo and Juliet film first came out in the 1990's. Not sure but I think that film had a version of it, but sung by who, I don't know.
I actually just heard a bit of this song, this Riley version, on the radio the other day, when I heard some snippet of radio by chance while in the car, and they said it was Elvis' granddaughter singing at a fashion show, so the next day I went looking on RUclips. I've now watched this through umpteen times. Thanks for uploading it. cheers.

If you haven’t listened to much of Prince’s music, please look up “Purple Rain.” ☔️ It’s my absolute favorite of his & I love many. He’s awesome LIVE & tears his guitar UP! So talented. I also didn’t know the meaning of “Purple Rain” had a religious mindset behind it. I’ll let you research & read about that. He wrote all of his songs. Even “Manic Monday” & “Nothing Compares to You.” Both were recorded & made famous by other artists. I didn’t even know he wrote them until he passed and they were then put on an album. Said to have been found in his vault. So many songs I’d never heard that were looked over and underrated! So talented. I actually have a couple of his LIVE shows on here, as well. I told you I put things up I love! 😅
Yes MJ was talented, as well. You knew he was married to Elvis Presley’s daughter Lisa Marie, for a few years didn’t you? Small world and things seem to be oddly connected in that world. And so many of them are gone now. Fame is something I’ve never wished for. That’s for sure.
A lot of Elvis’ songs that weren’t really largely promoted are some of my favorites too.
And have you listened to Lisa Marie’s two albums? Some really good songs on those, too! Ppl either love her music or hate it. I love the raw, bluesy way she tells her story. She wrote her songs, as well. I feel bad for her bc she was always compared to her dad who c’mon…changed music for everyone forever basically & was so unique & charismatic on and off stage. No one can compare to that! He opened so many doors for so many. But yeah, she never claimed to be like him. It was her own way of expression and I really respect that. I have a few of hers in my lists. One of my favorites wasn’t even released. “Colors Pale” it’s in w my stuff. And of course “Lights Out” is an awesome, more popular one. Can’t wait to read her book. Which I hope wasn’t changed or watered down bc we all know she was straight up!
