New subscriber here and girl I’m binge watching. Funny thing is, I don’t sew a lick but definitely can appreciate your passion and creativity. Keep doing your thing girl.
What a fun holiday outfit! I truly appreciate your eye for detail! I'm 63, my mother always sewed and even at 90 continues when she can.. unfortunately I didn't appreciate it growing up, I do now... she has that eye for detail also... she always says ... it's all in the details. It can make or break what you're trying to achieve. Like the wrong pair of shoes with an outfit! Lol
You are super refreshing! I appreciate the time you put into your look and home and most of all videos.🤗 Sending you love and support from New Orleans ❤️🎀
I'm a 67 year old man, missed the 50's ....you though are the nostalgia that my life longs for. Looking back... what a great time to be alive!? Don't ever remember hating anyone for anything.
Of course as a quilter, anything quilt will catch my attention. Looks like a great pattern to just make the vest top and wear with my regular long sleeve knit shirts to work. Good video, thanks.
Thank you so so much 💕💕 I can’t wait to share the gingerbread house video. I’m ready to make another after Christmas and start practicing for next year.
Love, love, love! I would have been happy to see how the weskit and circle skirt sewed up- but am completely blown away the level of detail and care you show! The applique, beading, printed bias tape- the foam for shaping! I watched the whole thing with a delighted smile. I hope you make many, many happy holiday memories in your new home. Thank you so much for sharing.
You make it look so easy!! Please do a longer segment showing you modeling the dress. The finished product is amazing, especially outdoors in natural lighting!
The patterns you pick are always delightful. Though these little details you do to make them yours really do make them entirely dreamy and fantastical. I can't wait for more of your content.
Just found your channel and I’m in heaven, I love recreating vintage styles! I’m always on the search for old patterns but I do make my own patterns too. You’re a joy to watch and listen to, I can’t wait to go back and binge watch your past videos! Thank you for sharing! 💖 I forgot to add how crazy I am about this totally adorable dress/suit,, that bias tape is too cute! Beautiful work! 💖
All the vintage folks stress this and I'm so glad you do too: structure and undergarments give the dresses their vintage looks. The dress alone can only do so much, it needs augmentation as well.
The algorithm is working! You were recommended and I’m binging all night!! I have completely forgotten about padding since the nightmare of all of the 80’s padding. But I have “hip dips” and I struggle with some styles but you’ve opened up so much now!! I am so excited now. Thank you so much!!
So CUTE!! And yes, please do the gingerbread house. My boys and I make gingerbread houses every year to use up whatever candy they have leftover from earlier in the year. It's our favorite tradition lol!
What a beautiful outfit! And the decorations couldn't be any cuter,I just love the little cookies and all the coordinating baking accessories,so thoughtfully and lovingly made 💗
First time viewer of your channel here! I think it’s great that you chose to add the structure/padding into the garment itself, professional tailors do that exact same thing with the garments they make. I also like how you take these vintage patterns and make it your own!
Wow, if you were just at 10,000 subs in December 2022, and today you are at 237,000, your channel has just exploded! How exciting, and well deserved! 👗
Adding structure with foam! Nice! I have been watching lots of historical sewing videos from the 1800's and adding structure and padding is the way the Victorians got that wasp waist look! Illusion and clever sewing. You are echoing what women did in the past to get the look they wanted. That is why I have learned to appreciate historical dress making. Clothing created the silhouette, not dieting or the roll of the genetic dice. As someone who doesn't have the "right" body shape myself, I am glad to know that I can make my clothes give me the look I want.
Absolutely FABULOUS!!! This is ,by far, the most beautiful, happy, fun Christmas suit, I have ever seen. All the extra details and applications are too stinking cute! You are so incredibly talented. Thank you for sharing everything you do with us. Merry Christmas ✝️
Watching the video made me want to learn how to sew, to try to make something as beautiful as that pretty outfit. I really like how it came out, the result is really cute.🥰🥰❤❤
Didn’t think I would care for that pink color, even though it’s period appropriate. However, not only did you do it up, the appliqué on the skirt is adorable. Fantabulous!
Ahhh!!!! Im so happy I found you just a bit before all your crafting stuff. You make some of the SWEETEST things and are a big sewing inspiration! Keep it up girl!!
I’ve had to search for you every time despite being a subscriber. This week is the first time you finally came up in my suggested videos. This was a brilliant make!
All these adorable appliques have inspired me to make an apron with a cute chicken patch pocket on the skirt. Clothes need more pockets in general, but especially cute shaped ones.
This outfit is the absolute cutest. The peppermint pink and candy cane colors are perfect choices for this theme. I really enjoyed this fun tutorial. Congratulations on your many new subscribers!❤
Like you talking about adding structure. When I first starting sewing 57 years ago, I wasn't taught that it was okay to add structure, and I wasn't always happy with the results, although I would finish all seams and they were well sewn and had just the right material that was best! So I appreciate your talking about adding structure!
Good to know about the liquid stitch versus hot glue. I haven't done much applique yet, I feel like I am still pretty new to sewing, but I have done enough to know about the pain of pins, but also shifting fabric even with pins. I think I will see how it works with my current project. I am making over an old skirt by sewing on a whole bunch of crocheted doilies I thrifted. I didn't realize that I was appliqueing. 😊 Your skirt is adorable! 🥰🥰 I need to finish my other projects so I can make one myself! (I need to make room in my borrowed sewing room before I can start a new project.😅) I've never thought about creating a story on a skirt. What a wonderful idea. 😊
I seem to have sewer's dyslexia, so I never can put a pattern together - but it's so exciting to see you put these amazing outfits together and look so good in them!
Omg !! The whole outfit is just gorgeous ( I'm a pink kinda girl). I must admit to have never seen quilted skirts before, but yours is just amazing. The structure and trims on the top = perfect ! Love from Oz
Thank you so much! I don’t think quilted skirts are as common as they used to be, but I do like them for the winter since they have that batting in there.
Great job! Thanks for showing the shaping with the light padding, it is so interesting to see the effect and it looks great on you. What a cute and pretty project and I wish you happy memories!Cheers!
Thanks. I didn’t realize it would trend this year it’s a project I put off from last year because we moved states a month before Christmas so I’m trying to make this Christmas extra special since I was super sad last year.
Thanks so much! I know right. If you would have asked me last year how I felt about the first one I would have said it was perfect. A year later I’m like “perfect if it had a bit more structure” I actually started learning how to work with padding a month after making the first one.
@@SewRena That’s probably one of my favorite things about sewing and making, everything you make is the best and then you learn more techniques and improve on it… and that one is the best. Cyclical learning ♥️
This is soo wonderful and super Christmasy! The shape turned out great! I’m new here and is looking forward to backtracking as well as seeing new videos😊 Have a wonderful time making new memories! Love and good wishes from Sweden❤
Awww thank you so much!!! The first memory on our list was to get a Christmas tree for the tree cookie on the skirt but it started raining 😫 gotta try again next week, but the gingerbread men are happening tonight.
Hello! I just love your creativity. By the way, I am a quilter who has made "silhouette" quilts. I use black silhouette appliques, and I use fabric glue, to actually glue them on, and then to finish the edges I use fabric paint which outlines the figure. I love this skirt! You are a very talented young lady!
I love your clothing style. I sew but not clothing only because it intimidates me, and because I am plus sized. I mostly make things for the home like zip bags, trivets, hot pads, oven mitts, table mats, hand bags. I have also made a few aprons for gifts. I love to see people make retro clothing and items. Your clothing is so lovely. I found your videos from the walk away dress. Keep up making the lovely videos. I even newly subscribed, you have now became one of the many sewing youtubers I watch for inspiration.
Beautiful, just beautiful...you and the outfit. You're so talented. Btw, I think you did a magnificent job on the gingerbread house (featured in another video)...the round mints "posts" supporting the roof of the carport was a genius idea, so was their placement on the front of the house. For being your first gingerbread house, it was very cute and creative.
That hip padding made such a difference!! Well done! I should be so lucky to need padding!!!LOL This outfit is absolutely darling. Your skirt theme is wonderful. My very favorite is the Mid Century house. I grew up in a home with those design elements. Thanks for sharing your sewing skills and other parts of your life.
This outfit turned out so fabulous and cute 🥰🤗🤗🏠 I can see you skating wearing it💕👗⛸!!!!! Looking forward to the gingerbread house video🫶🏻☕️🎄🏠I think it has been 3 weeks since I found you and I have been watching your channel grow 👏🏻🤗congratulations 🎉 I have enjoyed your videos so much!!!! My day of shopping 🛍 til I drop is Fabric shopping🥰🤗🤗🥰🎄🎉
Awww thanks so much for being here!!! The gingerbread house video will be up this weekend! I’m so excited. I’ve been so inspired I want to try and bake a roll cake
This is adorable. And I haaaaate pink! I thought you would open the darts and fell them to the sides to reduce bulk in the seam allowance, but you're slim and they barely show. I would be melting from a hot flash in a quilted suit.
New subscriber here and girl I’m binge watching. Funny thing is, I don’t sew a lick but definitely can appreciate your passion and creativity. Keep doing your thing girl.
Awww welcome welcome thanks for being here I truly appreciate your kind words 💕
I'm with you! New subscriber, and I plan on binge watching also.

I love your clothes, they remind me of when I was young.

How absolutely adorable! You are SEW talented 😉
OMG this is FANTASTIC! I just love everything about it, it's so festive and feminine and CUTE on you!
Wow! You’re amazing!

Those appliqués, especially the gingerbread MCM house, are the sweetest things EVER! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Love this! I am inspired. One of my favorite family photos from the 1950s of great grandma and her sister in their quilted skirts.

THAT IS SUPER CUTE!!! I bet you will get soooo many compliments!!!
When you said you want to make one every year and get better I nearly choked. This already looks so top tier.
I was talking about my gingerbread house 😂I feel like there is room for improvement. The video releases tomorrow. Sorry for the confusion 😆
That is so sweet and that wee bit of padding worked beautifully.
Thank you 💕❤️

Oh no that really sucks, but I’m glad you were able to see this video thanks for being a sub and putting in the extra effort. 💕
Your channel is awesome!! As a disabled new sewist, your channel has been quite helpful!!
All these adorable appliques have inspired me to make an apron with a cute chicken patch pocket on the skirt. Clothes need more pockets in general, but especially cute shaped ones.
