  • The depravity of the human race has been blatantly displayed in every place throughout all of history. The Apostle Paul was clearly right when he said, “None is righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10).
This truth is illustrated every day. We see riots in the streets, corruption in government, perversion in marriage, and then, of course, there is plenty of sin remaining in our very own flesh. The Reformer, John Calvin, taught that such things should turn our gaze to God. He wrote, “Indeed, our very poverty better discloses the infinitude of benefits reposing in God. The miserable ruin, into which the rebellion of the first man cast us, especially compels us to look upward.”
We have all sorts of trouble down here because we have neglected to look up there. We are made in the image of God. But many have forgotten God, leaving the phrase “image of God” meaningless. Now is a time to know God and worship Him. Calvin also said, “Nearly all the wisdom we possess, that is to say, true and sound wisdom, consists of two parts: the knowledge of God and of ourselves.” Man no longer knows himself. But there is no way to rediscover the truth about man without first coming to a true knowledge of God.
This panel discussion with Jared Longshore, Tom Ascol, Virgil Walker, Darrell Harrison & Voddie Baucham was held on January 22, 2021 at the Founders "The Only God" national conference in Southwest Florida.

"We're dealing with 2 particular world views." Yes! Yes! Yes! We're dealing with an outcome based construct.1 Kings 3 Biblical equity in action. Justice is based on objective truth--equity is getting to the TRUTH regardless of the outcome.

Exactly! God desires mercy above all things, maybe we should start showing it more as an example of the way to live life as Jesus did. An example is the teaching of the good Samaritan. Let's let unbelievers see for themselves through the fruit of the spirit how merciful and loving our God really is.

"That he may be BOTH just AND the justifier" of mankind. A great paradoxical mystery of God, and the necessity behind the Cross: this is WHY we preach the Christian Faith.

Justice no longer has an "objective" standard because "we" have largely redefined justice rather than submitting to the only eternal source for defining justice given to us...God's instructions. We cannot have true justice in this world absent of the only one who has the authority and righteousness to define it. When we let fallen people define justice (even out church pastors, and doctrinal theology) it will always lead to abuse and injustice.

'You shall do no injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor nor defer to the great, but you are to judge your neighbor fairly. - Leviticus 19:15 NASB95
Everyone; poor or great must learn to walk before the LORD Face to face- regardless of his social status- God is fantastic in His Creativity- the Poor & Great can both walk before God Most High- through their union with Christ; and both can be satisfied in Him.
Social Justice where the government grants your reward is a perverted notion of God's Grace.

This should have so many more views.I’ll be contacting the Institute of Public Theology again. This is the only ministry I’ve seen that’s handling the social climate with an accurate thermometer and not being poisoned by its mercury; My Pastor is seeking to get me to consider some other theological schools to go to but I’m leaning toward being unequivocally sold on Founders.
Brethren please pray,if this is God’s will for me,that I will have the finances to take care of the cost.I’ve counted the cost and it’s only approximately 20,000 over 3 years.I know it’s possible, and I’m trusting God for it.I appreciate this ministry so much and it is a focused inferno of a desire for me to be a full time student so that my coming ministry will hit the ground running with sound doctrine, applicable to today’s issues. This will enable me to be an apparatus to pull people from the flames that will never be quenched.

I have trouble understanding the equality v equity debate. Can someone clarify? I don’t see how there can be equality if everyone is inherently born different. I also don’t understand why equity is a racial issue instead of a socioeconomic one. I don’t think anyone can object to the concept that there is an equality disparity among persons of different socioeconomic backgrounds. Children born to educated, middle to upper class, especially the wealthy or ultra-elite have starting point advantages over those born into indigent, uneducated, disjointed, etc. etc. families and communities. I do not think that someone should be given “special” treatment to mitigate this disparity; however, how can they overcome “check-box” silent or overt discrimination that denies them access and opportunity? I agree that all of this falls under the umbrella of human depravity, so why is it wrong to fight this injustice that occurs? To stand-up for and support them. Biblically, one might consider the widows, orphans, and the poor. Are we not called to close such disparity gap, inequality, by caring for them? And to circle back to racism … yes that’s exists because sin exists, but it’s not unidirectional. I know plenty of “minorities” who hate white people for being white. White people who aren’t racist… who may be the actual minority in a given group. I can also attest that if I say inequality is a socioeconomic issue, this offends other races. Why? Appreciate any comments. And special thanks to all those who bless us with Founders Ministry ❤

The church embracing social justice was not the reason for the paucity of mercy ministries. It was retreatist pietism, and government taking over mercy ministries that preceded and paved the way for the embracing of social justice. Outsourcing our mercy ministries to political organizations has resulted in a pragmatic, compromised worldview regarding many issues. Hopefully the institute of public theology understands this. A perfect example is abolition vs incrementalism, "pro-life" work devoid of the gospel, and the apathy of the church regarding the abortion holocaust.

The Mosaic law (Torah - Law of YHWH given to Moshe) was instituted to create an environment of justice and equity regardless one’s willingness, in other words it was not based on one’s objective views. The entire codified law of YHWH can be summarised into three concepts:
    *Protective
    *Restorative
    *Retributive
Biblical concepts of justice and mercy exists within these parameters. YHWH’s expectations of mercy is clearly demonstrated and can be seen in the parable the Good Samaritan (i.e. who is my neighbor).
My view of this discussion is that it took a particular narrow view of seeking to maintain the “Conservative Christianity” statues quo, failure of the church to address the issue of the existence of racism not just on biblical perspective but on the pragmatic basis amounts to it being passive on this divisive topic. Perhaps the panellist (especially our black brothers) were hand picked to paddle this naive view point.
For a legitimate discussion to address and correct issue of racism even within the theological circles, bring those who hold true the views of corrective & restorative justice to the table, than we will have a proper discussion, not this one sided view which seeks to appease a section of the body of Christ.

At the end of this clip was said that 40% of blacks makes up the incarcerated population while blacks are only 13% of the total population of USA. This as seen being injustice! Then it was equated to 40% of blacks in the general population of USA that contribute to abortions in the country. This pastor combined the two as being injustices...I don't think they can be put into the same boat from the point of argument in relation to injustices to black people even as you could implement them biblically. You can't argue these in a combination form. So, so wrong here my friends. One is different from the other in all honesty. They speak big words and yet their minds are tiny....

The point, if I can understand correctly is that the black community is oppressed on all sorts of ways. Much of that is its own doing. But this happens with the breakdown of the black family. Which has far higher divorce rates or worse never marrying at all. Are they all connected? Of course they are men who get arrested, may have already forced their girl to have an abortion, which then shows that they are not a unified family. And if she doesn't have an abortion but has the baby, she may have an abortion later or have already had an abortion. The point is the man is locked up she's killed her baby and they're not married in a single family with the parents and children living all together.
