Would these trailer lights work for any of your situations? For me, I like using them with the wood splitter because I can take them off and not worry about the firewood pieces breaking them as they fall off the splitter.
Thank you for the in depthness. Using these in the oilfield, want to keep myself and others safe. Many times a person gets sent out with a trailer with no lights, and can't wait for a mechanic. I don't like that practice - I saw someone using these and decided to copy him. God bless you all, stay safe.
Thanks, glad to help! I was amazed how well these work. Sometimes when I rent stuff like a log chipper, there's no lights on it. This would be a nice addition to something like that.
This looks awesome. My lights are gone on my trailer and I really like that these lights are portable. Where did you put your wireless transmitter? My car is wired, but I left my plug inside the car and pull it out when I need it. Obviously if this wireless transmitter worked on the other side of your garage it sounds like I could just leave the wireless transmitter inside my car. I like this idea since it won't be exposed to road conditions.
Thank you for this great video. You went the extra mile to remove the lights and walk away with them. Impressive. I would like to find a company that would make just back up lights.
I have been concerned about my trailering lights on my tow vehicle. They are very dim and impossible to see during the day. I noticed that yours were quite visible in the bright sunlight. I have decided to try the wireless lights that you reviewed. Thanks for the video.
Thanks, Sam. Let me know how it works out. It seems like a good solution for issues like that. The biggest issue I can say is to remember to shut off your lights when done using and probably take the batteries out if you don't use it often.
I just bought extract kit 👍🏽..The bump test is my main concern because I’d like to see how to reinforce the actual mount because in MICHIGAN roads are pretty bumpy and the housing on the actual lights I’m afraid to drill and screw… 🤔 🤷🏾♂️ good vid tho 👌🏽 thanks
I have looked at that set. They are pricey, but if you have a selection of older trailers, you will have lighting for them without spending countless getting them to work.
I wonder if you could cut out the AA battery box and solder in a 9v adaptor for a 9v battery. The case looks big enough to house a 9v battery. The concern would be if the circuit board could handle the 9 volts.
Enjoyed the Video so much I bought the Lights. BIG Mistake!!!! They lasted about 30 min before they fell off. I was driving on a smooth road NO BUMPS no turns. I was going 60 mph. So maybe too fast???? So.........if you purchase these, I suggest Securing them down and DO NOT trust the Magnets!!!!
Mark, Yea, I was also surprised as they seemed pretty solid! It was on a Boat Trailer could that be the problem? I know they aren't waterproof, but planned on removing them when I got to the lake they removed themselves 30 miles too soon :>)
What if I don't have a trailer "plug" in the back of the truck? (some a$$hole cut the wiring to that plug in the back) Is there a wireless option that I can control manually?
There's no manual control for it. I can't think of an easy way to rig something up manually. I'd say your best bet is to try and get the vehicle wired again for a trailer plug. Maybe some of the wiring is already in place, but needs to be spliced together?
@@MarkThomasBuilder between Bosch, Delta and Makita. You could compare even battery only. Makita, Dewalt , Milwaukee. I left out the German, they’re more than twice as much.
Sorry, I'm not sure of the runtime. I could easily make a dozen trips around town with them. I need to remember to take the batteries out during storage.
I'm looking for a kit that doesn't need a harness trailer kit. Perhaps radio controlled with a gadget plugged in the obd2 reader. I want to avoid splicing and cutting wires in my car to run a harness. I hope they invent something like that. So it would be true wireless, just the 2 rear lights and obd2 dongle.
Escape the frustration of easily snapped cords. Discover the Towaide TA55 rechargeable wireless light, entirely cord-free, eliminating the risk of cord-related problems.
I was surprised that it has the wire in-between. They classify it wireless in the sense that there's no wire grounding to the trailer or no wires from the tow vehicle to the trailer. I used to buy and sell trailers, so I find it handy.
Yes, it's a little bit to juggle but a nice alternative for some people. I used to work in the manufactured home business and it was a pain to string up some temporary lights for transporting them. It may also be handy for boat trailers where you can take them off before going in the water.
It's nice for you to show us how these trailer lights work it says wireless and they have wires on them and they never did show us how they hooked to the vehicle so you just magnetically put them on the truck and they work when you stop and turn your lights on I give you two thumbs down
Sorry about that. If you go to the 6:53 area, you'll see how the transmitter is connected to my trailer lights plug, using the 4 way flat. If you have a 7 way round plug, you can get a flat 4 adapter, like I'm using.
That's cool! I'm reminded that I need to check my lights and see if I took the batteries out while storing them. I don't want to take a chance of them corroding.
These currently cost $200 at Tractor Supply. Absurd. Just for some plastics, wiring, a couple magnets and wireless communication! I can't justify that price over the $60 kit that you just wire yourself.

Thanks for the installation and review!
You bet! 💯👍
I sure see a lot of wires in that kit for being a wireless system.
I'm hoping someday they offer a completely wireless setup. This is at least wireless from the tow vehicle to the back lights.
I agree. Con with AA battery costing more. Towaide sells rechargeable totally wireless lights TA55.
Thank you for this great video.
You went the extra mile to remove the lights and walk away with them.

No problem. Are you looking for backup lights that illuminate the area or just the lights with the white boxes that notify people you're backing up?

I didn't notice the lights move on the log splitter while towing it.
Did you show how to hook it to the your truck? Do you plug that other piece into the four-way adapter coming out of your truck?
Sorry if I didn't show that. Yes, it plugs into the 4 way. On my vehicle I have a round 7 way plug that converts to a 4.
Love gadgets yes I would buy.
🇺🇸👍🏻🎯
Cool, thanks for sharing.
Master Tailgaters Tow Lights These look a little more simple. Thanks.
I dont have the trailer wiring that goes to the car will it work?does the tranmitor have to go connected to that?
I have looked at that set. They are pricey, but if you have a selection of older trailers, you will have lighting for them without spending countless getting them to work.
They're not for everyone, but they do work well.

I recommend using rechargable batteries and use a charger to charge the batteries.
Great idea. I started using rechargeable AA's for all my camera eqpt.
can you get the transmitter and receiver without light?
No, this is a all in one kit.

Oh wow, I haven't heard of anyone having them fall off. They held on just fine for me going a normal speed on a country road.

You never covered how these lights are triggered. OBD 2 bus connection? Separate switch so you have to hit 2 switches to make a turn?

towaide sells lights that you can control manually
You could have just gotten wired magnetic ones like the ones at harbor freight
Good point, I'm sure it's much cheaper. I was curious if these worked and I'm impressed.
For the aluminium some two sided tape with a plate of steel
How about doing a review on the delta cruiser miter saw.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it. 👊💯

Don’t meet DOT standards as far as left side license plate illumination and side marker light
Are they still working today?
Yes, still going strong. A nice addition for my wood splitter.
U didn't explain how you got the lights to work or how u connected them to your cars indication system..eg ..wireless..infrared...esp..????
Very sorry about that. I may have to make a RUclips short to follow up.
how to make the lights communicate with the car seems like the most important part? thx for the video though
the wire between the "wireless" lights should be wider than 9 ft.
Towaide sell lights with no cord between the left and right light
👍🏻🍺🍻🐶
🙌🍻😀🍕
I’m confused. These aren’t wireless??
These are wireless from the tow vehicle to the lights. The 2 lights are wired together, but that's it.
So really wireless really does not mean wireless because it has a wire to it . Sounds pretty stupid to me !
I was surprised that it has the wire in-between. They classify it wireless in the sense that there's no wire grounding to the trailer or no wires from the tow vehicle to the trailer. I used to buy and sell trailers, so I find it handy.
Wireless my butt😂. If you have to fool around with all those wires and battery’s might as well get the wired ones.

Yes, it's a slick setup.
After seeing this video I went and got me a Bluetooth trailer light kit. Just because the weather was bad and I didn't wanna crawl under my trailer
