I love Level 42 but perhaps King's presence can be a little overpowering at times; here Mike is a free bird and it works brilliantly. Plus Mr Lee is to top form as always.
Met Mike Lindup after several Level 42 gigs over the past ten or more years & apart from.2021 tour has always been sociable & will chat n pose for a pic...
Why is this not an hit all over the world ‘ see you Mike in October with Level 42 and can’t wait to buy your album Changes 2 in July 😃👍👍Top down to earth Mike 😎 👍
very inspiring track(remix) , uplifting summer mood. what a pity summer is over, now listening to this track is inappropriate looking forward to next summer to dive into this wonderful track again
So often I find the dance mixes of songs like this totally mess them up, changing thing’s unnecessarily or adding an overly loud beat, at least that’s not happened here. In some respects I prefer this to the original, tho they are quite similar
It can be tricky Roger, but I think my view in this has been cemented after listening to the track in the context of the entire album. The original version is one of the standout tracks and should have been pushed harder to attract people to explore further, and a good remix would certainly have helped in this. I think DL has played this one a little too conservatively without opening up the track in the way a sympathetic remix can. If the song does get picked up and attracts interest it might have further remixes issued (if they haven't been already?). I'm certainly glad to see Mike releasing new music. @@rogersause8897
@@robhastings1005 I heard the remix first then the original. I still would would consder this a “good remix” that makes the song a bit more clubby without sacrificing its musicality. - I also prefer it without the brass parts used in the original. Is it a remix that knocks it out the park and gives the song a whole new perspective? Maybe not, but realisitcally how many of them are there and who would do that? What did you think of the Louie Vega remix of Mike’s other single? Remixes tend to be more miss than hit for me but agree this is an amazing song that should’ve reached more people.
Supreme - vocals, production, the whole package... and so uplifting.
Great radio friendly sunny sound ... echoes of Earth Wind & Fire combined with Jamiroquoi and Quincy Jones/Rod Temperton inflections. Love it!!!!!
❤
Even Level 42, could it be ? ;-)
stirred, not shaken

Nice
A typically serviceable Dave Lee remix - but the original track deserved a more exploratory remix.

Theme for Cape Town, Rio, Havana………
Strata. Kompakt, strudel, beau beat. Plunging into sweet ore molasses, carpet swooning revelling paddage. Liminal, caturnia. Bajo, stirring and crotaling. Flurrying. Firm vox. Sovereign. Funky, gritty guit. Enthralling. Second round of pleasure. Divination. Hiatus, blazing ivories, slinky guitars, and concocting. Slappy, conjuring bassline. Platypus beattage. Moduleet enthroned. Fostering. Hiatus x2. Creole. Back to plastering beats, slappy chunky fully basslines and gripping aural phenomena. Splash drink.
