    Nice video, one trick I learned from Tim Flagler was to keep the thread directly in front of the herl. This helps keep the herl in place so they don't separate.

    Great tie! I find one ostrich herl works fine, as long as you get the orientation of the herl correct, with the inside of the herl tied up and wrapping over bare herl stem moving forward. This saves ostrich herl, important esp when you find that perfectly sized and colored ostrich plume for the hood ol’ Rays.
