I love your dedication to the testing and research but I have one small correction regarding what you said about Genshin and Vulkan API; genshin impact does NOT use Vulkan by default. It runs OpenGL, which you can confirm by loading GPUWatch application found in the developer settings and then launching Genshin Impact. You can force the game to load the Vulkan API by modifying the game's data but from my tests on S23+ which has sd8g2 it actually performs worse compared to OpenGL, which again might be an issue with snapdragon itself so it might actually benefit s24 with exynos a bit more.

It seems the best solution for the Exynos... if you game on mobile internet just use 4G. In my area here in South Florida, the speed difference won't be noticeable, as you're getting up to 100mbps, while 5G gets up 400mbps, but most times, you're going to see speeds below (T-Mobile) 100mbps on both 5G and 4G. So it's probably not worth the headache.
@sandeshms2148 Well, 5G still cause devices to heat up during the summer and in humid areas like where I live (Florida). I have the s24 Ultra, and it gets extremely hot outdoors on 5G during the summer. It's unfortunate that it's that way with a $1300 device, but I have to prevent wasting my $1300 by limiting it from overheating and damaging the phone by selectively using 5G when temperatures are too hot out.

Hey Mo! Thank you for this video. I’m still thinking about importing a S24+ from US to Sweden. How would the difference in network bands between the regions affect mobile coverage and battery life?
S24+ Snapdragon is a beast. The bands work for me in Austria but from what I've heard the Hong Kong Variant bands are much more compatible to EU ones. Downside is lack of esim support.
Whilst it's clearly behind the Snapdragon variant, it's a decent effort on Samsung's side. I personally run mine on lightmode and I still find it overkill for most of the stuff I throw at it. Hopefully, we won't have another E990, E2200 fiascos any time soon. Those two chipsets literally destroyed two generations. I'm also curious how much the process difference affects the modem performance.
The general consensus is that although the Exynos is definitely not as good as the SD8G3, for many people that will not be an issue. It still feels wrong to ship an inferior chip to some regions but I understand that Samsung lost a many billion dollar contract to TSMC and that destroyed its profits and they are now having to save their fab business. So, I have to agree that is what they have to do. Having suffered the inequity of previous Exynos chips which were terrible, it is good to see that it is clearly not as bad with the 2400. Though that is feint praise as I would still rate the A17Pro, SD8G3 and Dimensity ahead of this. A 10% difference is significant in battery life. The modem on the Exynos clearly is inferior and is why Apple signed a new contract with Qualcomm despite having their own inferior modem. They decided consumer first. That seems the main issue and I am not sure that Samsung can ever compete with Qualcomm in that regard. So the moral of the story, light or heavy user, buy the Snapdragon version if possible or alternatively the S23 Ultra instead of the S24+ to avoid the Exynos, as the SD8G2 remains competitive with brilliant thermals, efficiency and performance. I read that v1 of the 3nm Exynos still has a yield
It's OK to use Exynos in some regions, if it makes the phones cheaper, but no, Samsung ships Trash Exynos 2400 in regions like India and also prices the phones higher than rest of the markets! I'm using 12R and it's way better than S24 Exynos will ever be!
5G is expected to wreck Exynos but what about 4G? I don't use 5G on my iPhone too, all because of the battery usage. Are these two comparable in 4G only scenarios?
Thank you so much. Please do a similar comparision for S23 vs S24 exynos as this will be a concern for most. As most people who don't want to buy s24 go for s23.

For me the primary concern is battery life and camera and I do light gaming sometimes. So, please uplaod a video between s23+ vs s24+.
I think overall we can just dumb it down to exynos being 5 - 8% slower/worse in almost all categories across the board compared to snapdragon. Overall I don't think it's to much of a difference to worry your head over.
I would like a 4g section to be included in the testing. As of now if i would play outside with 5g on exynos im busted but maybe setting the phones to 4g Shows a smaller difference there?
I'm curious for someone who doesn't play games at all, just regular usage: social media and music/videos with mixed 4G/WiFi, how much of a difference will be in the battery. I disable 5g and use 4g on all my phones so it drains less battery. P.S. I am wondering whether to buy S24 or Xiaomi 14. I like one ui more than hyperOS but Xiaomi 14 has better hardware (8gen3, bigger battery, way faster charging, better cameras as far as I saw in reviews)
I would say 10-15 percent based on my tests. For me S24 battery capacity is small, which means sometimes it doesn't last a day when I'm outside or traveling. Nothing wrong with it, it's just the way it's designed. Xiaomi 14 battery lasts longer. The camera is also better IMHO but at the end of the day Samsung support is unmatched.
I purchased the Samsung Galaxy S24, and it has been an excellent choice. I have not experienced any overheating or throttling issues, and I am very pleased with the device's performance. However, I understand that some people are still skeptical about the Exynos processor, and I agree that it is important to consider the long-term performance of the device. As of right now, many apps are not optimized for the Exynos processor, so it is using its raw power, which is already quite impressive. In fact, the Exynos processor is actually more powerful than the 8th generation 2 processor. Therefore, I believe that my S24 will only become stronger over time as more apps are optimized for the Exynos processor.
Wonderful approach, thank you @techmo2020. It looks like you've identified the 5G modem as a key factor for the differences between the chipsets. I wonder if this could imply a trade-off in battery for faster 5G speed? Considering the 5G peak download speeds reported by each manufacturer, Snapdragon and Exynos reach up to 10 Gbps and 12 Gbps, respectively (a difference of ~ 20%). Could this contribute to the battery drain differences observed in 5G testing?
Hi @techmo2020. Firstly, thank you for your time and the valuable insights you've shared. I hope it's okay if I suggest something different. Considering that 5G isn't universally available yet, I was thinking of focusing on a 4G usage scenario. I don't want to bug... but since your previous tests highlighted the 5G modem's significance in chipset differences, exploring s24's performance in a 4G context could provide additional insights for many users. What do you think?
The thing is this is only gaming. Chuck rendering photo tests, RUclips tests, standby tests etc etc SD takes the lead. Its been consistently showed that SD version 15% extra left over while the exynos was dead.
Thanks for sharing the video! Have you noticed any improvements in camera colors and white balance with the S24 Exynos? Has the battery life improved when using cellular 4G and some 5G connectivity?
Thank you very much for your videos. They are very good. I would like to know if the US version normally receives updates and security patches in Europe
Thanks for the follow up. I've now subscribed. It seems for regions selling only exynos variants that some improvement has come with latest update. My carrier doesn't provide 5g and 5g coverage is rubbish in regional Australia where I live. I'd love to see what difference in battery life is with 5g disabled? Also signal strength of Snapdragon modem versus exynos?
Just got the s24 exynos. I do get a lag here and there but overall is smooth. It does heat up to 43°C when just scrooling on instagram and social media and sometimes it just runs cool. I just dont like that it heats up
guy stop complaining about heat problems with ur phones or it gets too hot to keep in hand i got s21 with exynos and it was also heating a bit and to that solution came silicone case with a fur inside it helps a lot
Is it normal to loose 35% in 2.5 hours with light use? Do i have a faulty phone? Just used it as hotpot for macbook and had video call without camera on. My battery life sucks. It drops to 94% in 10-20 min after fully charging And it drops like 10-15% in an hour. I have to charge 2 to 3 times per day meanwhile my moms cheap phone with 5000 mah works for 1.5 to 2 days without charge.
Thanks for the topics that others wouldn't explore. One of the best channels to get correct information. Is the grainy issue on the s24 series screen resolved for new batches?
Your previous real life test (includes travelling with S24/SD, S24/EX and S23/SD) which was done more than 2 months ago is more representative based on old software patches. I would like to see that done again with the latest software updates. This test you have just done 2 weeks ago is not real life situations because nobody stays at their home for days, your latest tests is more of games which majority of S24 users are not into.
a quick question since i saw your battery drain test of s24(sd), S24(exynos), s23(sd), since im also from Austria, I wanted to ask if the s24(sd) works just fine here or if there are any problems with the networks/bands? since seemingly in your video you were able to be connected to both 4G and 5G without issues? (also on what site did you import the s24?)
Makes me wonder why don't they just do snapdragon globally? I just got my s24 today and I'm pretty impressed. I originally got the s23fe but it got so hot then the battery would drain fast Gaming so fo 5$ more a month the s24 was way more worth it. And being on north America got the snapdragon version.
We should keep in mind that Exynos is Samsung exclusive so it's obvious that it'd have better optimisation on the other hand sd is like a open source... But still sd wins.... I don't have any problem with Exynos but imo if they are putting Exynos then they should reduce the price.... Samsung literally has everything... They manufacture, display, camera sensor, soc etc... i mentioned these because these are the most expensive part of a smartphone and when you have you manufacture everything then you can literally deliver the same product at a way cheaper price vs against someone who buys from third party... Like every single brand.... They purchase soc from Qualcomm, display from Samsung, camera from Samsung or Sony.... I hope you'll get my point... But Samsung is greedy...
I would like to know if the snapdragon version works correctly in Spain. Languages, security updates, software updates, LTE band, android auto, Google Pay, etc.?
Exynos sucks when it comes to connectivity. The performance is worse, the signal strength is always lower and it's also using noticeably more battery. No one cares about a 15% difference if it's only one thing, but when you add up all of them it paints a huge deal! On top of this, Samsung is asking the same price for Exynos as for Snapdragon and we are supposed to be ok with it?!
I hate the battery life and network connection on this exynos 24 plus, and I'm typing from it now, I wish I knew about the chips earlier on before purchasing
I have a choice between a brand new s23 Snapdragon or s24 Exynos for the same price (s23 more expensive even since im getting a free Galaxy watch 6 with s24) What should I do?

When you will do A55 vs A54 vs A35? I think this is will be a good video, who think so?
Next week

5G is expected to wreck Exynos but what about 4G? I don't use 5G on my iPhone too, all because of the battery usage. Are these two comparable in 4G only scenarios?
Thank you so much. Please do a similar comparision for S23 vs S24 exynos as this will be a concern for most. As most people who don't want to buy s24 go for s23.
S23 never made with exynos version.
S23 all models only made with snapdragon.
@@janisspalvins677 yeah i meant to compare s23 snapdragon vs s24 Exynos gaming performance
@@mettasrikanth5274 Thanks.
What model you recomend to buy?
Battery and camera is priority.
I stoll use S10, great phone, only problem is battery. Need to charge 2 times per day. I use hard phone. Never gaming, but wifi youtoobe almost nonstop.
@@janisspalvins677 S23 256gb version would be better
@@janisspalvins677 s23 has small battery but it will last you all day unless you play games. 6+ hours Screen on time. If it is not enough and budget is not a limit then you should go for s23+ or ultra
I am soo confused between choosing S23+ and S24+. I am torn between great chipset and network performance(mostly i will be using 5g) with S23 and upgraded battery, ai feautures and ltpo display on s24+. For me the primary concern is battery life and camera and I do light gaming sometimes. So, please uplaod a video between s23+ vs s24+.
S23+ for sure! If you can't find the s24+snapdragon version. You will thank me later.
I think overall we can just dumb it down to exynos being 5 - 8% slower/worse in almost all categories across the board compared to snapdragon.
Overall I don't think it's to much of a difference to worry your head over.
Exynos version has the worst internet connection I’ve seen, you can’t watch more than 5 RUclips shorts without the phone struggling to load the video.
there is no diference with Asphalt on 5G so it is not modem fault but games optimisation
I would like a 4g section to be included in the testing. As of now if i would play outside with 5g on exynos im busted but maybe setting the phones to 4g Shows a smaller difference there?
The more I look at these tests the more I'm starting to realize I might not be the eyxnos chip itself but the modem its using
I'm curious for someone who doesn't play games at all, just regular usage: social media and music/videos with mixed 4G/WiFi, how much of a difference will be in the battery.
I would suggest waiting, eventually samsung will launch snapdragon version.
Its been consistently showed that SD version 15% extra left over while the exynos was dead.
can you link the app you've developed?
Very nice test, so actually only Pugb mobile makes to go warmer on the exynos .. optimization maybe?
Very detailed testing, kudos to you for this video keep going 🎉
If you don't gaming, is exynos worths buying? Or go for s23?
Belive me. You will game. Buy the s23+ if you can't find s24+ snapdragon version! You will thank me later. Cheers.
Awesome video! Can you please now try both with Switch or 3ds emulator? Pleeeease the same video but with heavy emulators
Thanks for sharing the video! Have you noticed any improvements in camera colors and white balance with the S24 Exynos? Has the battery life improved when using cellular 4G and some 5G connectivity?
Thank you for all the test you do
Really nice work! I hope there will be more people with such dedication to their work on youtube some day.
your videos are very helpful to me for choosing the best phone i'd buy. please keep doing these test when samsung drops new updates! :)
Thank you very much for your videos. They are very good. I would like to know if the US version normally receives updates and security patches in Europe
Yes it does. Don't worry. It's OTA update.
Only thing going for Exynos for now is that it's a lot more root friendly.
What application do you use on the screen?
I wrote it myself, it's not published.
Thank you for such detailed comparison. Could you also publish the firmware versions the phones were running during your tests?
Unfortunately I didn't take notes of the firmware this time, it's a good practice to do it for the next test. Thanks for the suggestion.
If you keep making useful videos that nobody else makes, you will get more views and subscribers. Keep it up
Just got the s24 exynos. I do get a lag here and there but overall is smooth. It does heat up to 43°C when just scrooling on instagram and social media and sometimes it just runs cool. I just dont like that it heats up
Ptsd s21+ exynos..
Thank you for the effort you make to show us these important factors to let us decide better ❤

Is it normal to loose 35% in 2.5 hours with light use? Do i have a faulty phone?
Just used it as hotpot for macbook and had video call without camera on.
My battery life sucks. It drops to 94% in 10-20 min after fully charging
And it drops like 10-15% in an hour. I have to charge 2 to 3 times per day meanwhile my moms cheap phone with 5000 mah works for 1.5 to 2 days without charge.

@seekerofsense s24 has 492hz while iphone uses 480hz... Neither is good so u can choose depending on ur preference
Have the Snapdragon version been updated ?
Thanks for the topics that others wouldn't explore. One of the best channels to get correct information. Is the grainy issue on the s24 series screen resolved for new batches?
Thanks mate, I wonder if they solved it, I don't know to be frank.
There should be a lawsuit for selling 2 different phones with same name
It works just fine specially the Hong Kong Variant
When will you do a Nothing Phone 2a testing? seems like a great phone
There is one in the channel. Maybe I do another one later on.

I have the S21 FE and i want to upgrade but not sure which one to buy if the S23 or S24. Any advice ? Btw i live in Exynos variant.
Snapdragon is a Little bit better, but exynos is very good procesor and better than snap on s23.
Brother my s21+ exynos was a sun heck no this will give me ptsd when I switch to s24 exynos I will keep remembering my old phone so no
Bro do a comparison between Xiaomi 14 vs Samsung S24 SD vs Samsung S24 Exynos...
A 10% difference in battery life for the same money is an insult to the costumer .
What is the name of app you are using for measuring battery temperature and other things...
He said it within the first seconds.
Impressive!
So if samsung made updatates you should think to do again video with typical usage test :)
Because it's much cheaper to make an Exynos chip than buying the Snapdragon
But Samsung is greedy...
yes what is your SOT on exynos version
Como me diy cuesta cuando el exynos o snapdragons
I would like to know if the snapdragon version works correctly in Spain. Languages, security updates, software updates, LTE band, android auto, Google Pay, etc.?
Is s23 a better choice over s24 exynos?
I don't like + version because of The size...I like 6.1 or 6.2 screens.
You have to compare screen on s23 vs "grainy screen" on s24, especially in dark room using grey background. Mine has this grainy thing.
grainy in s24?
I think the reason why exynos gives less battery life is that it has a 10-core architecture
Hello what better s23U snap vs s24plus exynos??
Exynos sucks when it comes to connectivity. The performance is worse, the signal strength is always lower and it's also using noticeably more battery.
No one cares about a 15% difference if it's only one thing, but when you add up all of them it paints a huge deal! On top of this, Samsung is asking the same price for Exynos as for Snapdragon and we are supposed to be ok with it?!
S24 is the first smarthphone that realize 8 hours of day "worker", with only some limitation. Exinos and battery are the secret.
Snapdragon still better. Nobody wants Exynos, period.
Good video greets from Germany
