Take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy this gorgeous scenery from the Jipiro Alto area in Loja. This was recorded on Friday, January 12th. It's worth remembering by far most of Ecuador is safe, and there are hundreds of small towns all over this country where life is continuing at a normal and relaxed pace.

Is the lockdown/curfew affecting Loja at all? That was beautiful scenery. Do city people bring their laundry to the countryside to wash them in streams?

Yes, It's national. I don't know if people really care about it here in Loja though. Yes, people wash everything in the streams. Clothes, cars, motorbikes, and most disturbingly, big bags of vegetables and fruits from farms that are heading to the market. The problem with this is there are cows 500 feet up the stream standing in, peeing in, and pooping in the stream. The people know this but the do this anyway. Always wash your produce :)

Yes, this was two days ago. There is no crisis here. Much of Ecuador is quiet, peaceful, and normal.

My second very peaceful day in the amazing cloud forest of Mindo. Alvey, I strongly suspect that you could do some serious 🚴 in Mindo in between light showers 😂
The outskirts of Loja toward the wind farm and podocarpus national park are beautiful.
