Oh Lady Hawk this is so special! I saw this first on Cali's video and I thought the same thing, Proud Papa brings in a celebratory fish for Spirits first venture out and feeds her. His purpose in life, as the Stickman, is to make the best nest for his precious Queen Jackie and their offspring. And he has done it! Thank you for this, this has been a special day. I hope she hangs around like E20 did. The last shot of them on the branch together, and listening to Jackie in the distance melted my heart. 🥂🍾🦅🙏💙🥰 P.S. I don't know if it was endearing or not, but I love how he saved the tail for her LOL
It was endearing how he gave her the tail ♥♥ I loved how Shadow brought Spirit home as if it was just any normal day not her maiden voyage on fledge day!
Harriet, from the SWFL nest likes to down the tails! There must be nutrients there that can help the females, especially, when they are developing and growing and for adult females, to be used for making eggs. Shadow had it almost downed a few times, but, he seemed to rethink that and then offered it to Spirit. Marvelous! It's wonderful to watch these majestic birds. They know a lot more than people realize or give them credit for. This was a big and special milestone for Spirit to be away for a while after fledging and being able to find her way back to the nest. Tells us a lot of positive things that will definitely help Spirit when she leaves on her life's journey. But, today, she was one adorable, hungry and squeeing princess! 😻🦅🥰
@@michellecoshow2927 This nest has wonderful parents. 🦅❤️🦅 It saddens me that only about 50% of the eaglets, or the eggs, will make it to their 1st year of life. Spirit has an excellent chance because of having diligent parents. The same for the SWFL nest with Harriet and M15. Most that don't make it die due to things like lead poisoning, that is very damaging to their nervous system. They get it from bullet fragments in game and from contaminated fish. Some eggs don't make it, or very young eaglets, because the parents can accidently step on the eggs or chicks or be knocked into the nest by an owl attack while perched at night. A number will be attacked by owls and after fledging some will die of starvation. They also face the danger of being poisoned from ingesting a rodent, for example, that ate rat poison. People should be encouraged to use glue traps for mice or, if they can, get a cat!! 🐈⬛ As you can see, sadly, a lot of the problems are caused by careless people. 😭 The good news is that if they make it past year one, they have an excellent chance with an 80%+ survival rate and can expect to live a good 20+ years. The eagles who are in the NC seaside area have the best chance to lead full lives and it has been said that almost all the fledglings that migrate there make it to year one, because of the plentiful food availability and the numbers of eagles that congregate there who they can learn from and hone their hunting skills. For such strong and powerful birds, though, they really are so very sweet, thoughtful and patient with their babies, as we witness from this video. Dad came to the nest with the fish and appears to deliberately move aside so that when Spirit comes high tailing it back for dinner, she has room to land safely, etc. Smart thinking! It's just so beautiful and heartwarming to see! 🥰🦅😻🦅😍🦅🤩
@@CuriousCat787 good information! I also watch the MN DNR nest. The male parent disappeared 1 month ago and it has been mom alone with one eaglet since it was 6 weeks old. Not fledged yet. She is doing great, but I wonder how hard it will be for her to also teach all the skills of the male too. I hope that eaglet continues to thrive; there are tough days and not always a lot of food.
I love this- another nest I follow has fledgling come and go for about. 2 -3 weeks which lets me know the tween ager is learning many skills that may insure success . 🤞🦅🤞🦅❤️

Spirit is a very smart and beautiful eagle princess! So glad she made it back and dad's celebration is the best !😍 With traits of both parents, which are amazing, she will have no trouble being the one of a kind majestic eagle she was meant to be! Spirit may have been out exploring but she sure kept an "eagle eye" on her birthplace...just in case someone brought in some "carry-out". She made darn sure Dad knew she was coming home for dinner! 🐟 I would feel sorry for anything that was in her flight path! 🦅She came in at jet speed!!
