Absolutely magnificent, the dress to the music selection was a breath of fresh air, nice to see movements while covered in folkloric costuming, takes the ''eyes off the belly and widens the view of you from head-to-toe, so to speak'' and leaves a lot to the imagination to digest along with interpreting what you're communicating with your boday, also sees your expressionism in the face come to focus, when they see you enjoying yourself, makes it easier for the audience to enjoy you even more, this was very well done. Would love to see a future baladi with either a veil or assaya (cane), too... ;)

A truly outstanding comment. Many kudos to you for the depth of its analysis and truth.
Over the years I watched numerous belly dance videos here on YT and enjoyed the many comments posted. I have noticed that men are especially appreciative of dancers who perform while fully costumed. By contrast, women viewers are much more appreciative of skimpier costumes that are sexier and more revealing. Speaking for myself, I join with those men who generally view the more fully costumed dancer as the more exciting, more aesthetic, and more meritorious.
In the USA we have an expression which goes "clothes make the man". Well, in real life, it is also a truth that "clothes make the woman". I know that in my youth I loved looking at girls wearing mini skirts (yes, I'm that old). But today in my old age I find that ladies in fuller garments are far more beautiful and desirable. This is no different for Oriental dancers. Of course, variety is the spice of life so that skimpier costumes should not be done away with entirely. On the contrary, they should be used especially in front of all female audiences though at times before mixed audiences as well.
A note about wearing veils - I believe that should only be done if there is an all male audience if the dancer has a skimpier costume. This though all male audiences are rare in the art form.
Kudos to the dancer here for her great work.
