Great review! It's good to see Corsair addressing issues from the QX120 with the iCUE Link LX120 fans. The performance improvements are impressive, but the price point does make it a tough sell. Thanks for the detailed breakdown!
I got these fans for sale on Black Friday I seen a huge improvement over my older Corsair QL fans. I bought 3 triple packs and one single fans for my h9 flow case. My cpu temps dropped about 5-6 degrees Celsius
The Corsair LL120 fans I've used are no longer available and had RGB in the fan and the ring for a cheap solution. They even made a LL140 which I used two of on the front of the PC case. Unless Corsair stops discontinuing fan models I'm going with a non proprietary system.
2:40 Now I'm an RGB hater. so maybe that's why I think the QX fan looks more like what RGB lovers would prefer. The rim on the LX fan either have no LED at all or they are so dim as to be useless.
Attention to those sensitive to coil whine: I purchased these fans along with the LX140, and they were a major disappointment. The motor noise becomes unbearable at speeds over 1000 RPM, and certain RGB effects (like "Rainbow Wave") cause the LEDs to emit coil whine. For the price, this is unacceptable. Do better, Corsair.
Looking at the local prices, I can buy four P12PWM PST ARGB for the price of ONE Corsair fan. And they don't need stupid controllers and cables, they just plug into the mainboard.
Corsair people like me that has purchased 100's of dollars on your fans would love for you to make reverse fans to go with them! I promise people will purchase them and you will make lot's of money so why not. I like the back of the QX120's look better than the "Air Guide" ones but reverse ones would be the best of all
Corsair just release reverse LX fans. I honestly think they are moving away from the QX fans a little as they have probably realized it doesn’t perform as well as they had hoped.
Honestly, it's competing with the Uni Fan TL which performs slightly better, costs 25% less and, in my opinion, looks a bit better. Then there's also the Phanteks D30, which is about 35% cheaper than the LX120. I just don't think these are viable at this price. Aside from the fact that all these daisy-chained RGB fans are already ridiculously expensive. Personally, I'm probably going to just forgo the RGB entirely and put Silent Wings 4 HS as case fans and Pros as radiator fans.
The LX fans are very good. The QX fans are actually also a good fan considering the specifications. They just aren't as good as the LX. The LX are a huge improvement as far as static pressure is concerned. Really, there actually aren't very many fans that can even produce that much static pressure. I would also say that if they do, I wonder at what RPM they produce that static pressure at. Nice work on the part of Corsair!
the problem with the QX isn't that its a bad fan, its that its price is just ridiculous and for that price you get bottom of the barrel performance. if the QX was selling for around 40$ each, which is still overpriced for a FAN, i think this wouldn't have been such of an issue - it does have some of the best RGB out there if you're into that, and that temperature sensor is useful if you use a bunch of them for intake and exhaust, and have a corsair AIO because if you got the time for it you can create an automated system fan profile which is dependent on the temperature of the air coming from the intake and on the air coming out of the exhaust. as far as i am aware the QX is the only fan out there (at least PC RGB fan) that supports this sort of function
i replaced my AIO fans with those fans (240 aio) and TBh they perform perfectly fine consider that i have an old AIO that i used on my 9700k and now i use it on a my 14700k which get much hotter and the CPU dont go above 65 even when i overclock to 6.0 so....
Your subtle humor is actually hilarious and makes fan reviews somehow interesting 😂
Love the quality that you’re putting into these fantastic videos. 😂
Just turned my RX fans, was looking for reviews of the LX couldn’t one find any anywhere. Awesome review

What about the ASUS TUF TR120 (Normal and reverse)? Are you interested in testing something like that?
Will you review the new RX120 MAX RGB?

Are you going to be doing the new RX max fans.
is it the same for the lx120 R? like they are the same but backwards

Honestly it sucks that they didnt add the airguide technology thingy to their reversable LX120s,

Don't mind me. I'm waiting for the Arctic stan in this comment section
Erm, I’m actually using arctic p12 max performance rgb Rx qc sp high speed fans and they outperform these by 113.34% 🤓

As if corsair fans aren't the most annoying and die hard pc component fans out there
@@boydolson5350 that's the Thermalright stan
@@MadridistaFrieren it's awesome paying less for more.
Are the qx better than these
Nevermind just finished the vid. Is the rx 120 max better than the lx 120
Yes
Meh, the whole Icue link ecosystem is pretty expensive still on top of having to use Icue in general lol

@@billcipher534 Thanks will have to check them out, I have 10 QX120's with the sensors but would try the new ones if they have reverse, Thanks
I prefer the lian li sl infinity fans.
If they had reverse blades that’d be a W
They have the reverse blades for sale on the Corsair website

Now if only Corsair could get iCue stable. As it stands I would never recommend a Corsair product due to how awful iCue has gotten.
I am going to buy the LX because thy have also reverse so will look much better than QX which the back looks the same as QL, booooring
Corsair products in 2014+10 :~)
lol
Bottom line: Theyre Ugly, like most of corsair's fans
