I love the sound of these motors, had one in a 3500 cube van at the moving company I used to work for, she blew a lot of smoke under a load but got the job done.
It’s kinda weird watching an engine running without an intake manifold, being so used to gas engines. I had to do a double take and look at it again to make sure I wasn’t going crazy.
Love those pumps cant stand the junk ds4 5521 the optical sensors float and never tighten down impossible to make em work right, they are junk but you have a nice motor for basic work and around town driving. The mechanical pumps are far superior. Gm really screwed up a great thing they should have never gone electronic they should have improved the mechanical pump even aftermarket shops can get a 6.5 to pull 300hp 500ft/lbs torque with a mechanical pump imagine if gm would have put real engineers on improving it 800hp 1000ft/lbs would have been realistic

Very nice! DS4 Is correct, The 6.2s had the DB2 Mechanical pumps from 82-93, Only 92-93 6.5Ls Had the Mechanical pumps Until 94-01 Had Electronical.
That is a mechanical DB2 pump, not DS4. I had 97 G30 Van with naturally aspirated 6.5 and it also was with mechanical pump.
