Thanks for doing the video. I just picked up an Ibanez that I want to put locking tuners on and I was interested in the ratio tuners. I was particularly interested in finding out if they were a direct fit, or if I would need to use their mounting/adapter plates. It would seem that no plates are needed. That's great. As far as tuning stability, they won't do anything for you if you're using a locking nut, but they will make string changes faster and easier. Seems like an easy swap. When tightening them though, just a little past snug is all you need. They won't go anywhere, so there's no need to crank down and stress the wood. Thanks again and good luck with it.

Yes, I’ve had it this way for a while and just haven’t gotten around to a follow up video. The locking tuners I feel do help provide some stability if you get a good stretch and tune on the strings first then lock down the nut. But you are right, they make string changes much easier and cleaner! They were very easy to install. No extra holes or parts. The only problem I have with this particular Ibanez on tuning is getting the bridge tilt set just right. Using the same gauge strings as on my prestige is fine but I may need to go lighter with the RG. Otherwise the tuning is great and I don’t really use the bar on the RG as much. Thanks for the view and the comment! I appreciate it.

Why didn't you show us how the tuners looked at the back of the headstock?

Sorry brother. This is sadly getting to be an old video. I needed to do another and show this kind of stuff but I haven’t gotten around to it. Hang in there and thanks for checking it out!

Cool. How's the string break angle from the nut to the graphtech ratios, when compared to the stock tuners? Are they steep enough? My ibanez doesn't have a string retainer as well, and I'm still using the stock tuners.

@@ibzmav Sorry to catch you so late again. The angle isn't flat but it is close. It has quite a bit of space as it runs across the locking portion. I would say the Graphtech's probably set a little lower but its been a minute since I looked at it.
