18:42 always good that bloopers are in you're vids
1:03 I find it very hard to believe that lions and tigers are 378 pounds for males maybe for large female since I did saw one in the wild when I was in South Africa
I put it that low as something you can expect from both males minimum, and yes they can grow larger than that, obviously.
@@CalvinTheCarnotaurus by the way, did you see my community tab it’s pretty funny
Tiger lion drama is something i wanna know more about
2:05 there also was an unconfirmed lion weighting 310 kgs
Confirmed, it’s from Jan Kriel.

I'm just gonna correct/clear a few things;
1:00
The average body mass of adult male jaguars in the Pantanal region as of right now is about 114kg.
1:49
The largest lion on modern records was 310kg the gut fills of this specimen were unspecified. Going by the “30kgs when full” rule, they should be ~280kg if full after all. The 279kgs male you pointed out was infact the largest lion (under modern records) that was specifically stated to be weighed on an empty belly though, and there is another male of 287kgs (with 5 - 10kgs gut fill, I make it 277kgs empty, trying to be conservative). There are a couple larger lions than these though (with unspecified gut fill) but they're not as large as the first two I mentioned, so it's not worth mentioning their weights. (These weights all belong to the Southern lion, P. leo melanochaita, the largest extant lion subspecies).
As for tigers, the largest weight under modern records is of 320kgs (which is not the best in terms of reliability), and was full-bellied, making it ~290kgs empty. Another tiger weighed 288kgs on an empty belly, and there is a measurement sheet for it, so this one is very reliable. The 261kgs specimen you mentioned is Sauraha, a tiger from Chitwan NP in Nepal, who exceeded the scale of 272kgs, and was later estimated at ~261kgs based on chest girth equation. In later years there have been a number of tigers surpassing it though. (These weights belong to the Bengal tiger, P. tigris tigris, the largest extant tiger subspecies).

Species-level, I agree. The average species mass for lions and tigers far surpass that of the jaguar and the other extant felids. However, there are small subspecies of tigers such as the Sumatran and Malayan tigers that are similar to jaguars from the Pantanal region (which is a population, not an entire subspecies, as jaguars have one extant subspecies). I just thought it'd be interesting to point it out.
11:17
Why am I not surprised? The haters from the opposite side seem to just falsely accuse the person on the other side so easily, this is probably because of the intense dislike they may feel for him.
Overall, you made great points, I enjoyed this video, please keep it up.
Thanks for the information. I'm planning on making a part two of my lion video and a tiger video at some point, so this will be helpful for those projects.
If you could, could you please give me sources for stuff on the weight of these animals? Like a book or forum post or scientific paper? I remember reading that the size difference between lions and tigers is pretty close to the point I've seen people online say they consider lions to be larger, so I'm interested to hear about the weights of both animals, and especially the exceptionally large specimens. I'm also thinking of doing a video on American lions where I compare them to some very large specimens of modern cats, so it'd be good to know what the largest lions and tigers are.

Lion wins
On point, why would Romans elevate the loser over the victorious animal if tigers were often the victor against lions…
What culture tells us is that fear can lead to two things: respect or demonizitation.

Yea it is a pointless debate I even made a video of the lion vs tiger debate showing that it’s a waste of time
