Great video. Many thanks. It is great to see how the course developed. I was ASM REME Special Trials Group when we wrote and ran the first 2 courses, one in Al Jubayl (start of Op Granby) then the second at Bordon. Fantastic vehicle (particularly for those who had struggled for many years with Chieftain and Cent ARVs).
As a TA Reccy Mech we only did Foden and the Old Scammel Crusaders and trailers. But we did get familiarisation training on these In Germany. Great fun. I did my B1 at Bordon and 2 years later was back there instructing on TA B2 courses. Just a two week camp there but really enjoyed being at SEME. Quite a few TA Reccy Mechs did crew CrAARV on Operations though.
Please, can we use footage from your RUclips channel for our videos about military cars, trucks a other machines? We tag your channel as a source ,... thank you. :)
Sure, as said make a mention about my channel in the remarks and also put a mention in your video at the end thanking the other channels you used footage from :)
I'll see what I can do with that one, the amount of pack (engine) changes I've done the last couple of years is absurd. just never thought anyone was interested in them lol. it may take a while as I'm currently deployed.
last time I did that was over 14 years ago so no footage unfortunately. now I believe the crarrv courses are run in Bovington and seems I'm fully qualled up there's not much chance of me going back there...
Its all to do with the width of the vehicle. Because on a normal road the tracks are over the centre white line we legally require a MOD police escort.
Although being commissioned into service back in the 80s alongside challenger the CRAAV fleet will continue to serve the British army supporting the 148 strong CR3 fleet and as a result will receive the HAAIP upgrades as will CR3.
Somewhat more difficult to restore and maintain than a Scammell Pioneer. How many WW2 armoured recovery vehicles are seen at shows?. Let alone the Centurion type that was happily sold off for less than dead weight scrap price as too expensive to cut up. A lovely toy as long as the tax payer pays the bill. Sadly, I see very little future for these sophisticated toys in preservation outside the Tank Museum as a soon to be static exhibit.
Absolutely filthy beast! I bet down the duel carriageway that sounded absolutely mega!

I don’t think I’m your prime audience for this kind of video. But I did like the music
Great to see the beast again. How the hell is Vinnie doing? Can't remember the last time I saw or spoke to him.
Vehicle - Great. Video - would be better without the song. LET'S HERE THE ENGINE.
Look on my other videos my friend as I have also uploaded this video without the music for enthusiasts such as yourself 🙂
'A' Vehs Training Wing or A sheds as those who where there will know. SEME Bordom

Sennelager Normandy barcks
In Canada people confuse the horse cap badge with the RCMP one. It’s amusing sometimes.
Well in 2008 in Afghanistan the Americans thought we was special forces due to the horse and lightning bolt 👀🤣
Got any footage of an engine change.... that is if your allowed to. i know how some militaries can be

@@AJoeA well if we can do it quicker and cheaper you best bet, that the MOD is interested (if i get the placement that is)
Here's a video of most of a CR1 pack lift which is more or less the same - ruclips.net/video/GJw3oTOFZlg/видео.html
Got a copy without the music?
Going to do downhill tow in longmoor?

Why the need for escort ???

My thoughts... GTFO the road civvy...lol
Will these remain in service with c3 or a new version on the drawing board.

Very interesting film, well made, shame about the music! Perhaps next time a commentary will be more useful

Talk about pollution
You think the pollution is bad, you should see the fuel bill ;)
No worries, 'cos it's all for a good cause!
Music is bad. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Please watch my 'no music' video as it may be more your style :) ruclips.net/video/J2UPkfdqB7o/видео.html
