Belichick in recent years has done things like run Brady out of town while he was still a Super Bowl caliber QB so he could go sign the shell of what used to be Cam Newton then draft Mac Jones and hire a defensive coordinator to be his personal QB coach and develop him
Bill can't (or won't) build a quality staff around him because he is stubborn and he doesn't trust anyone (hence why he fills his staff with recycled yes-men like Patricia and Joe Judge etc)
Bill has no clue how to build/coach a modern roster, he still uses 6 or 7 roster spots for players who are special teamers only and yet his special teams still aren't even elite anymore
i don't know why everyone thought teams would be lining up and kicking down the door for Belichick.....in case people hadn't noticed, Bill was running everything 100% HIS WAY and every season that passed it got blatantly WORSE AND WORSE

the thing is that was 20 years ago, and the league has shifted drastically since then and Bill has just refused to change with it
like i said, he's the only guy in the NFL who still holds that many roster spots for special teamers who don't even play offense/defense, he still values guards and punters in the draft, he doesn't care about modern explosive motion based offenses, he still believes his "Patriot Way" is more important than any player which is why he tried several times to force out Brady prematurely, finally succeeding when Brady left for Tampa
so yeah, he WAS a great coach early in NE before Tom was great, he USED TO build great rosters, but Bill is STILL trying to build rosters and coach as if it's 2005 and that just obviously doesn't work

If I'm Atlanta, I'm not trying to get Bill. The offense was kinda the problem with Atlanta, mainly the QB position. Why would getting Bill help you get over the hump or develope a QB. Bill should be approached by maybe the Seahawks or someone that has a window to win. You can't have him develope a guy and if that takes 2 year, how much longer till he retires. The teams that need coaches seem to have young QBs or no QB and that's not something I think Bill should be trying to do. The NFL is different and I don't see how he helps a QB situation. And considering that Tom Brady won't be coming along with Bill, his resume without Brady is the only relevant thing to go off here. And top of that he's 72 years old, guided the Pats to the worst offense in the league the past four years without Tom, and just completely ruined a young qb after we saw what Mac did as a rookie. Why on earth if your Atlanta would you sign up for this when there are better, and younger options that can pair with a potential young franchise qb for the next decade plus.

The problem with hiring belichick is that he’s going to want to be both GM and HC. And if an organization can’t offer both, then he’s not interested. But by the same token, it’s been proven that he is not the greatest evaluator of talent as a gm. Whatever ppl think of his credentials as a HC (overrated), I think everyone can agree that he should NOT be a GM and should just stick to coaching. But it seems like bill doesn’t wanna just coach. i still remember when "defensive genius" Bill Belichick put Gronk out on Hail Mary end zone defense against the Dolphins when Ryan Tannehill was taking the snap around his own 30 or 35 yard line........ as if Ryan Tannehill was gonna bomb one like 70-80 air yards directly into the end zone?!?!?!
then because of that genius defensive strategy, guess what happens....Tannehill throws underneath to start a desperation lateral situation because it was OBVIOUSLY THEIR ONLY CHOICE FROM THAT SPOT OF THE FIELD, it ends up with Gronk standing in the open field in front of the end zone, with half his body covered in braces, barely able to move, he gets deked out by the ball carrier, runs past him as he falls to the ground because OBVIOUSLY he has no clue how to play defense, Dolphins snatch victory from jaws of defeat
    and why did that happen?
because the "biggest coaching genius of our lifetime" decided to use a strategy that even a 12 year old playing Madden would know better than to use
then we can discuss benching his CB1 before a Super Bowl to flex his "players don't win games, I DO WITH MY PATRIOT WAY SYSTEM" ego....only to watch NICK FOLES SHRED HIS "GENIUS" DEFENSE

As a Falcons fan… give me Vrabel. He’s got coaching experience, a defensive mind, from the Belichick tree, but still young enough to keep up with the change of the game, can be paired with a rookie or young up and coming QB, and could last for the next 10+ years. Honestly if you get Bill you’d have to get a veteran QB for it to work. And of the available veteran QBs (Cousins, Wilson, Tannehil, and Flacco) I don’t trust any of them to make a playoff run. Unless you get Russ a Top 5 defense and hope he and Bill click immediately I don’t believe in him. Kirk I feel has a ceiling as a divisional round QB at best and that’s barring any setbacks from his Achilles injury. Tannehil ceiling Divisional round. Flacco needs a top 5 defense as well and time isn’t on his side. Blank is looking for a microwave Super Bowl and I just don’t see it happening. He might have to wait 3-7 more years to be in Championship contention again not 2 years. He’ll probably be one of the oldest owners to get one which would be amazing and I hope he gets to see one before his time comes because he’s been a outstanding owner but hoping Belichick gets it done in 1-3 years would put the team back if he continues to do what he just showed in New England.
