I told him I was crying because one of my students asked me if I knew how beautiful I was . I thought I was very ugly until I was 40 years old. My sister told me I should look in the mirror then I would realise how ugly I was. So I avoided looking at myself. At the hairdresser closed my eyes. He was wonderful and months later opened up and told me many things and loved me dearly.

Thanks for recommending Marshal Rosenberg's book. I don't know if you've read this comment before, but when you read the book, he was dealing with extreme violence in several populations around the world, and his technique works with people completely opposed to each other (think middle east conflict).
Because of his work, the title "non-violent" is a fitting title. The techniques work in conflict situations that aren't as complicated as war. His experience is in extreme violence, and that's why the book has the title. I hope you give credit to the author by acknowledging his work.

Wonderful video Jonathon. I’m pretty sure my partner is on the spectrum and he has issues understanding emotions…it’s hard for me to cope with and frustrating for him

I had a guy like that too and I absolutely believe he was aspbergers. Funny thing is I completely trusted him because when he told me he loved me (maybe every 3 months) and that I was beautiful …I truly believed him. I knew he wasn’t being fake because it meant so much when he could speak it !!

To be loved is one thing, to be understood is everything. Men need to feel understood too. And they aren’t mind readers either. So much pressure on them.

Lol. I think he wanted you to put the actual word that are in the list.

I think he wants you to Google the list, it's pretty long.
It's not...."I don't FEEL that you heard what I said", the feeling in that is "I feel sad/unimportant/ etc" not stating what the person did. We don't use our personal feelings properly if we don't know what they are.

Thx l’m not going through the aggravation of online dating. I will stick with my friend who likes to talk. Maybe l won’t be directly involved in his life because of cultural differences. That’s ok

Hi Jonathon, I just am trying to figure out this- I have been meeting this man who is about 18 years older than me, he's amazing, intelligent, kind, humorous, and came across as a really strong personality. He found me very feminine and said he had never met anyone like me and I admired him for the person he is too. We had an amazing friendship, we could laugh and have sex and conversations. 3 months passed. He is now quiet and just keeps writing short messages, apologising for being quiet saying he has "gone within himself"
I tried creating a comfortable space saying he didn’t have to apologise and that he is more than welcome to open up if he wishes to. He has just gone quiet and I am baffled but also giving him his space. Any advise? Thank you very much.

Sounds like he's going through stuff. Are the 2 of you in a partnership or just casual?

I know how to open up with a partner and if he isn't capable of doing this, then it will create a big problem in a relationship. It makes this very hard to understand him and his feelings.

Jonathan it only takes one women to ask a man to express his feelings, then he does, then she weaponizes his emotions against him. So if you are a woman that weaponizes his feeling against him, stop and fix your self first Your selfishness is helping destroy the market of good men.

Block him on your phone! He’s keeping his options open in case he wants a booty call when his current squeeze isn’t putting out. Have more respect for yourself and BLOCK the idiot!

If that makes you happy, there's nothing wrong with wanting that.

@JonathonAslay TY Jonathan. FYI John Gray tells us never to ask a man what he's feeling. He says ask what he thinks. I get it...feelings are difficult to identify & articulate. It's way easier to know what we're thinking, right?
