Wow, this looks perfect for when I backpack the Eastern Sierra Nevadas. My only question is the material of the net one that doesn't damage a trout's protective coating? I'm assuming that's why most people have gone to rubber nets. Thank you for the great videos as always
Awesome product the second I heard about it and me and a buddy both bought some I'm planning to go to Lake comedero in Mexico and go fishing in Australia and Japan next spring so it will be a perfect net to travel with no excuse for lipping toothy fish in Australia now
Man, I was so excited clicking on the title of this video, only to be disappointed again, lol. I’m looking for a net that I can use when wading for King Salmon. It’s so hard to find a net big enough with a wading handle, not a 4’ or longer boat/pier handle. Any suggestions?
Get a net suited for the boat that has a rubber end cap. Cut the handle to your desired length and glue the rubber end cap back on. Looking up on the googles the average adult chinook is 2 to 3 feet long, you need a fairly large net. Perhaps check out the asian bank fishing nets. Luke from catfishandcarp has had a few and they are big nets with long telescopic handles which may suit your needs.
I'm actually planning on traveling to New Zealand later this year and am interested in getting one of the McLean nets for my trip. The compactness of this one is pretty nice for that reason. Do you think this net would be able to handle landing NZ caliber fish in the 24inch range?
Won't the metal ring that forms the loop of the net potentially cut/damage the fish? Also do you know the weight and if it comes in a non-scale variant?
Thanks for being a part of my fly fishing journey. I had no family member to help me learn fly fishing but y’all always helped. Thanks y’all!
Thanks for being here!
That is a really nice product especially when trying to pack minimalist for a fishing trip. I will definitely get one of these.
Farmer Bob Thanks for watching and thanks for the support.
Looks to be great for the motor home in my future. Thanks for another great video.
Thanks for watching. Cool niche product.

The much needed tip was to PUSH needed to make this net fold back up. I had struggled for months.
Thanks for watching.

Where were those landscape shots, blue ridge mountains maybe?
Ben Martin Hard to say. Stock footage. Thanks for watching.
Mclean makes some great nets, but I think that I need a 30 min video of how I should fold mine.
Anonym1 Anonym2 Practice. You’ll get it.
Wow that thing looks incredible!. But $120?
Pass on that one
Thanks for watching.

You state it's for backpackers but didn't mention the weight?
Because it doesn’t weigh much at all?
@@Madriveroutfitters every gram matters to us lot, its the deciding factor
👍🏻
Thanks for being here.
How much does it weight?
Thanks for checking but you'd have to contact the shop for that information. Feel free to send them an e-mail and they will get back to you shortly.
wow that looks like an awesome fishing net. I just can't afford to throw over $100 for a net. Im new to fishing and for me its not worth it YET.
Thanks for watching and please stay tuned.
Check out handy pak nets instead they have much cheaper options, and iirc they either invented it or were the first to mass market this style of net.
Can you put the link in the comments please
Links are always in the video description. Always. Check there. Thanks.
No ghost netting
It is close to Halloween?
Any one using this net for salty waters and can tell me about the life time?
All the best from a sea trout hunter
Denmark 🤘
Sure....probably not recommened for salty water at all.
Would you recommend subject net for use under saltwater conditions as well?
Probably not suited for saltwater.
Nice but pricey
As stated.
How about guys who just don’t like to carry a regular net.
Included.
