Mr. Luury, I'm a fan and I'm a bit concerned about your health.
We want you around for how long time.
You should seriously consider dieting. you sound seriously out of breath it maybe sign of unhealthy diet.
I highly recommend intermittent fasting. ❤

Glen is indeed a voice of wisdom in the darkness. He speaks of damage due to ongoing Affirmative Action. Another cost he didn't note is that today, educators are urging that Blacks should be taught and evaluated with special techniques due to "unique" special needs Blacks have. So much for "just give me a chance." Now its make up new standards so that more than a trickle of numbers of Blacks will make it beyond "Diversity Studies" degrees.

Is this the same Glenn Loury who wrote the forward or Shape of the River seems he is not saying shape of river is end all be all as my ultra liberal faculty rave about. Dr. Sowell and Richard Sander are right!!!

I have great respect for Glenn Loury and how he is brave enough to tackle such complex and sensitive issues that most people wouldn't touch with a yard stick. A lot of what he is saying is the missing narrative in the narrative of the LEFT. But I disagree with his wishy washy stance on affirmative action on whether it is racist or not. To even imply that it can be a "good thing" or how it can be used in a "measured" way is because he doesn't, or simply can't, see it from the Asian or the White perspective. How is it fair that a Chinese girl escaping persecution from China with her family is considered "more privileged" than a Black American who was born in the US? There is no middle ground for things like affirmative action. It is either Racist or it is not... you can't have it both ways. Affirmative action is racist, there is no getting around it. It is using race, a characteristic that you have no control over, to determine what YOU "deserve" and removing the autonomy of the individual. When you imply that diversity of RACE is important, YOU are the racist. Diversity of IDEAS are what matters, NOT RACE.
