  • When considering women in history, few evoke the level of respect that Boudicca, the warrior Queen of the Ancient Britons, commands. Despite her enduring legacy, she remains a captivating enigma, her true identity and deeds cloaked in mystery. The questions surrounding who she was, her actions, and their repercussions continue to fascinate, driving an ongoing quest to uncover the real Boudicca beyond the legendary figure.
Known interchangeably as Boudicca or Boadicea, she emerges from history as a remarkable Celt who, as the leader of the Iceni Tribe during the Roman occupation of Britain, boldly confronted oppression and injustice. Her defiance, immortalized in historical accounts, ensures that her legacy endures as a symbol of resistance against tyranny.

When I was at school....in the 60s we were taught about Boadicea - pronounced differently to how it's said today. Thanks for the explanation.

Disappointing. We were promised insights into the 'real' Boudicca (how?) which unsurprisingly, did not appear. There was a paucity of facts and a good deal of 'packing' much of which had no bearing on the purported subject of the video. And the rather condescending narrative, as if being aimed at children, did not help. Neither did statements such as Stonehenge being constructed by 'sun worshippers'.
