Nice lesson! I don't see any example for two "Shva" Nikud in a row and how syllables are determined that way. That is something I would have added to this lesson. Nevertheless, a good explanation. Thanks.
I think that ( BAYT ) is a two - syllable - word . ( YOD ) is a semi vowel : It may be a vowel as it may be a consonnant . Here in ( BAYT ) , ( YOD ) is voiced so it's consonnant and not a vowel . look at the following sentence : הוא חזר הביתה Could you tell why a ( Hey Sofeet ) has been added at the end of the word ( HABAYT ) so as to become ( HABAYTAH ) To my mind , the only logical answer is that the word ( BAYT ) is a two - syllable - term ! Otherways we can not justifie the adding of ( Hey Sofeet ) in a such case . Keep in mind that a ( SHWA NAA ) cuts a word into syllables !
I've watch a couple of other videos on syllables but this one was most helpful. Thank you!
Oh, I’m so glad to hear it. Thanks for watching!

Im glad i just learned cursive script.
Otherwise i would have been completly confused by how you write a cursive nun between block script letters.
Yes, I find it is less confusing to write the nun of the modern script to differentiate it from the kaph.
Yes I had to look twice at the nun also!
Anyone else who wants to respond to my question? Why should I prefer to learn Hebrew ? What is the benefit of learning Hebrew for me?
Closed syllable is called mir'el and open is mir'la........
